Good looking vehicle, but breaks constantly
I test drove the car at the dealer twice and it worked fine. Five days later, the shifting between electrical and gas engine modes is not working. Often, but not every time, when starting at the light intersection, the gas ending hits the clutch as if someone rear-ended the car. The car often stalls on the highway. The needle goes into "power" mode, but the gas engine does not even start. Already 3 weeks at the dealer, they can not fix the problem. Definitely, do not buy this model

Niro USB port/android auto issues
I bought the NIRO about a yr ago... 2019. I really like the car but recently the android auto cuts out & the USB port sounds warped when I'm using the flash drive. I feel like the dealership is blowing me off. I really want this fixed & don't want to worry that I'm going to blow my dashboard. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem?

Ah-mazing
First hybrid, third Kia. A nice change from the Sorento- better mpg obviously.. it’s definitely a smaller SUV- smaller than the Toyota Rav-4 that we previously owned. Definitely a lot smaller than the 2020 Sorento, can’t do big shopping trips. Fits my family of 5 comfortably (three adults, a teenager and an preteen), not going to fit my pack of 9 medium to XL dogs, but three should sit comfortably. Nice features inside- I purchased the LXS as I wasn’t going to wait months to get the EX from Korea. So not having an all power adjusting driver seat, sunroof, and fog lights were something I would survive without. The wireless CarPlay is awesome. The mood lighting on the dashboard is amazing, I loved seeing that surprise when it turned dark outside. Overall I’m very happy with it. It drives nice, definitely a change in pace of how to hit that gas pedal to speed up as it’s a slower start, but overall very happy with it. I travel 150+ miles a day for work- so it’s a great change of cost for gas, as it’s going up. It truly is a change, but a great change. Will definitely be trying the EV in a few years.

My Kia Niro is a LEMON!
While driving home from work last Thursday, my 2017 Kia Niro instructed me to immediately pull over and call Kia's "road-side assistance." At least three times in as many years the car has shut down and forced me to pull over. I immediately had my car towed to my local Kia dealer who once again told me it was a minor "fix" and the repairs would covered under the warranty. This has the common response each time my car has been TOWED to a KIA dealership, and each year when the weather gets warm I am left stranded on the side of a hazardous and busy freeway. As the original owner of my Niro, driving less than 10,000 miles each year it is readily is apparent that my car is a LEMON! After three years of patiently believing the Kia service departments when they tell me that my car has been fixed, only to be stranded once again, I have come to the realization that the only professional recourse would be for Kia to refund my money.
Had it as a rental
I rented this car over the weekend. I'm shocked that the mileage ratings are below the Prius. I averaged over 60 MPG with a solid mix of city and highway driving. I owned a 2011 Prius for 7 years. I never got that type of mileage, ever.
