I loved the look of the Liberty Renegade vs the Sport and Limited. Stick with the V6, I find it to have better pick-up. Best way to go on this vehicle is when its fully loaded. Only mistake I made was getting it in black since it looks like its always dirty (but hey its a Jeep right? That's what gives it its character!) Very comfortable ride on pavement.

I am a hardcore Jeep fanatic. At first, I thought it was shocking to see Jeep was replacing the legendary Cherokee. Like most Jeepheads, I thought the Liberty just didn't belong in the Jeep family. However, after totaling my Cherokee I took a chance. The Liberty performs just as well as the Cherokee, but with comfort and style that the Cherokee lacks. (And it looks good next to my CJ-5 too!)

I love my Jeep, right now it is a totally stocked Renegade. I plan on adding a lift kit and larger tires. I keep on eye on the Liberty websites for news and ideas to improve my Liberty. The family loves to go off road and to go geocaching. This is an awesome vehicle. My Liberty is so much better then my first Cherokee was.

In the over-all we love our liberty! Mpg's are not stellar but considering she's a go any where 4x4 and 5400 lbs., not bad! No Major problems but the factory specified routine maintenance costs a small fortune. Fun, safe, peppy (3.7l) comfortable and capable on road and off. One annoying rattle emanating from the rear swing- gate/Glass region with no resolution to the problem in sight, many liberty owners with the same complaint! Very maddening considering a 24k price tag! Maybe "it's a Jeep thing" haha. Other than that we're pleased, let's hope it has the longevity of the Honda crv that we chose it over! Long live the liberty!

I am a lifetime Jeeper owner. I had my Wrangler for 10 years before I got the Liberty. I think that I knew that I wanted it the second that I saw it at a local car show. This is definitly the "grown up" version of the Wrangler. It has more space, go power and overall class than the other compact SUV's. The Liberty has a style all it's own, and is simply unmistakable on the road. Simply put... It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand. :)

I have to say I love the way the Liberty looks on the inside and outside. I was so excited to find an SUV that was so classy. Unfortunately, I have experienced some problems with the transmission/4WD. The car gets stuck in reverse. I then I have to turn it off and on. It's been in to get fixed and no one can find anything wrong with it. Although Chrysler does a fantastic job of making their vehicles look good, but the reliability is just not there. It's a shame! Mine only has 12,000 miles and I'm going to get rid of it. I just can't trust it.

This is the most classy, reliable fun car I have ever had. It's extremely maneuverable and has a nice ride for being a small SUV. It's got plenty of storage space in the back considering it's a small vehicle. I have not had any problems in ANY type of weather and I've pretty much encountered it all (rain, snow, ice, strong gusts of wind, hail).

We love our Jeep Liberty. It is sporty and fun to drive. Only drawbacks are interior noise when driving, especially on the highway. The major drawback for me is the gas mileage. I do mostly in town driving and it averages about 15-17 miles per gallon. On the highway it averages about 23 miles per gallon. It is a V6, so I guess that's not too terrible, but with gas prices hovering anywhere from 2-3 dollars per gallon, it hurts to have to fill it so frequently. Another drawback is the glove compartment is so small the owners manual doesn't even fit in it. Not much for extra storage space either.

After owning a Jeep Cherokee for eight years, we decided to add another one to our garage. So we went out to test drive the Liberty Sport 4X4 and WOW were we impressed! Very Smooth (better than our sedan), braking was very good, acceleration was very fast and the engine was so quite (it never was loud or odd sounding). And since being a previous Jeep owner, we were suorised to find that the body roll was cut down to almost nothing! All and all this re- design of the 05 is very solid; and you feel that while drving it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. And the funny thing is the same day we test drove it we came back later and ordered one!

The reason I bought my Liberty CRD was for fuel economy and towing. So far the best mileage I've had was 26 on the highway on I40 through the Appalachians in NC/TN. I wish there were more interior room, though. There's a transmission hump right where I like to put my foot when I'm using cruise control. It's also been in the shop a few times, luckily still under warranty. So far, the EGR valve, torque converter, ball joints, a a glow plug have been replaced. The ball joints and torque converter were recalls, though. I also have a problem when the fuse for the rear wiper blowing at random. I think I might trade it in for the Grand Cherokee CRD when it comes out.

Just purchased the new CRD Liberty and love it! The diesel is a little bit noisier than my VW TDI, but it runs great. First 100 mile trip, you'll notice the diesel is only turning 1,800 rpm at 70 miles an hour in overdrive, yet has so much torque, that it pulls cleanly without downshifting. Gas mileage is already working out to be 25-27 MPG, and comfort and quality of the interior are first rate. We also live up a steep gravel road, and this baby climbs like there's no tomorrow. The perfect match--diesel torque and economy with Jeep's great off road ability's.

We had 7 flat tires. Recall on ball joints and transmission turbo charger. Have had egr airflow control valve and gasket replaced. Now it is leaking power steering fluid. Flat tires occurred with bad tire sensor valves and inferior equipped tires. The automated tire sensor system needs some work. If you buy this vehicle, purchase the extended warranty. You will need it. Also brakes make grinding, moaning noise. Friends who own Liberties have this problem also. Safety commission is investigating fires in dashboard.

Owned 10 or more previous vehs. (3rd brand new). Over 116k miles later wouldn't trade it for the world. The handling and stability saved our lives - kept us from even having the accident (another driver made left from oncoming lane 50-75 feet in front of us while traveling approx. 55 mph) I Love the tight steering. Original brakes went 84k and still had plenty left. Will be passing on to children.

The Jeep is nice to ride. It's the radio that is the Bad one! I had to replace it 4 times; the first time was because the CD's got stuck and the other 3 times was because the units cut off/on with an explosive noise. i have called Chrysler and all the say is we are not responsible for this. and they will not upgrade unless I pay for it! It is a brand new car, I shouldn't have to be paying for upgrades in a radio that since the beginning was defective. It's a 2005 and it should be upgraded for the future.

Purchased it used in February wwith just over 5k miles. Overall excellent vehicle. The side view mirrors have a killer blind spot so I always check over my shoulder (which is probably the safest option anyway). Some of the options should have been standard on the limited but when you buy a car used you don't get to be picky. For instance it would be nice to have leather seats standard. So far no problems mechanically/electrically however it's only been a few months. I did just get a recall notice on the ball joints so we'll have to wait and see.

The best fun for the most economical price in a small compact SUV on the market today! Try this 6 cylinder with 4WD.Take it everywhere - mountains with ice and snow and watch this baby perform. Yes the Cherokee is nice too but check the handling and quick natured torque of this puppy of a Jeep and you will just see that maybe it isn't just a puppy after all. All weather conditions, try it! It's amazing fun, need to do a quick turnaround - go for the 360~ on a dime. Tight parking no problem, fits right in with NO effort, None! A must try first vehicle before you make any other compact SUV purchase!

I upgraded to the 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited from a 2000 Toyota Corolla. The Liberty sits high and is very comfortable to drive. It came with a nifty little cargo shelf that has dividers in the top portion. The only downside of this is that you can't use the cargo cover with it. It's one or the other.

I have done a lot of highway driving in my Liberty and it has performed pretty well--the Check engine light has come on several times and it difficult to get to stay off. Gas mileage isn't the best. Front seats are quite comfortable however the back seat is quite uncomfortable and crammed. I like having the spare tire so convenient. These Jeeps work great on bumpy roads although the ride is a little rough and noisy. Even in 4wheel high, my warning is not to drive it on the highway in any slippery road conditions. I have gone off the road a few times on the ice at . Thank God the vehicle never has rolled over!Over all its a cute little guy but do not expect to get out of a muddy ditch!

I am not impressed with the gas mileage (15 mpg) in the city. The leather seats are comfortable, but I tend to slide a bit. The leg space is limited for a 5'8". A couple of glitches happened, my 6 CD changer failed only one week after I got the car, and ate 4 of my favorite CDs! I also had to have my car towed because the gas pedal cable was missing 'a clip', the car wouldn't move... Still love the car. The AC works great. I recommend you take the maximum care warranty, Jeep service was really great when my car got towed. The look of this car is so great, I felt in love with it. Lots of space, the back seats fold nicely.

I love my jeep! This is my first Jeep and it's not bad at all. It looks good, drives excellent and everybody I talk to wants one. I heard they don't hold their value and mines uses lots of gas which worries me. I may be forced in the 3rd year to trade it in for something bigger like a Jeep Cherekee or whatever. Will do homework next time before I buy for looks again! But overall it's still worth the money I paid and I still would buy it again. I love it! Great product! Averaging 30miles/gallon Canadian. No speeding in this thing although it is fast. You'll find the mileage will stink as the turbo kicks in, so Chrysler suggests best mileage is at 55 mph. Very practical with a 5000 lb. towing capacity, 4x4, very comfortable. Diesel option in a Sport or Limited and towing package at only $1000. Colors are nice. The patriot blue and salsa red pearl coat looks great on chrome accents and sport rims.

I've owned several SUVs since 1980: International Scout (2), Ford Bronco, Ford Explorer (3). I use my Liberty to tow a 2500 lb. boat/trailer package mostly, putting on about 60% of my miles that way (to-and-from Canada). Performance/handling and economy are are as good/better than any previous SUV, including the Bronco and Scout V-8s.

So far, it's a great vehicle. My first Jeep and it's a better pick in this class than my 2001 Mazda Tribute. Sold build, classy interior (nice grayish leather, great steering wheel controls, overall good quality materials). Front driver and passenger foot room could be larger - not much room to stretch for the passenger, but comfortable nonetheless. Couldn't believe I was driving a Jeep. Comfortable ride on both highway and secondary roads and plenty of power. Road noise was acceptable, too, not at all like the really loud, annoying Tribute. Good visibility.

Although the vehicle was totaled, my wife and one year old child were unharmed. Family is alive because they were in a heavy vehicle. A truly strong, safe, vehicle. Highly dependable on road as well as off road. I recommend the Liberty to all without reservations.

Very little room for any passengers once you get a car seat in there! And the seats stain EASILY from anything! Especially any kind of liquid! If your drink sweats, don't let it touch the seat! The stains look horrible and nothing gets them out!!!

I have driven trucks all my life not really a car person. I have had a Ford Bronco and a Ford Explorer, I love 4 wheel drive and I use it. Like a vehicle that can hold its own and so far this Jeep Liberty has done it all. It can hang the interstate with the comfort and smoothness of a car and off-road it is as tough as a Bronco. It makes a nice safe ride for when I have my grandchildren in it and they love the look. The real test for me was my granddaughter just got her learner’s permit and loves to drive this Liberty and I feel very safe because of the Liberty’s safety features. So far this grandmother loves it. It is so brand new but the more I drive it the more I love it.

I've owned my Liberty Diesel for ~ 4 months and it's needed service twice already. The engine died due to a wiring harness short on day 2 of ownership and it recently developed an intercooler (turbo component) leak requiring service. Nevertheless, I'm still pleased. Mileage has been 25+ MPG on the highway, ~ 23 combined city/highway. Towing a 3000 pound boat is absolutely effortless. I'm hoping all the bugs are worked out because this Jeep is a blast to drive!

I purchased my Jeep Liberty last month after we have had a terrible winter in Ohio. Not only is it great on the road but is fun to drive. My only beef is a small glove compartment with very little room for essentials inside. Other than that I really am happy with my Jeep and have fun with my 5 year old grandson who calls it my beep beep Jeep.

This is our first SUV purchase and so far so good. The Jeep feels like the real McCoy. Beside the overall complaint of gas mileage, everything is as good as it gets for the money. Practical and simple interior design. Exterior looks great too, especially in the new dark khaki color. This is one fun to drive kind of truck. Nimble with tight suspension and a good seating height above most cars and SUVs. We live on a steep inclined hilly road that is a problem to deal with in the winter and Jeep's reputation for off roading won us over from other 'crossover' SUV car based models at the same price.

This is my first Jeep. At 3500 miles there's been not one problem. Fit and finish of interior and exterior is great. Having been the owner of Honda and Nissan I expected less. Will be using it as a tow vehicle for a 2000 lb. 18ft pontoon boat as well as our daily driver. Wife loves it.

Just purchased; more room inside than I had imagined, needs hooks for jacket, and move mirror adjust -- a little cramped to get at. Four wheel drive is the easiest I have ever used; just finished using it this afternoon, no binding - easy steer - no fuss. V6 a very strong engine; plenty of power good torque. Too many controls on stalk. Many neat features; CD is great, radio could use some more watts (power output), six speaker system best I have heard in standard radios in a long time. Enough; still new to this Jeep but like it very much, will rate after owning it for awhile.

I am very pleased with this vehicle so far. I did much searching before deciding on the Jeep Liberty and think the sporty look of this vehicle was a deciding factor in my purchase. Being a Jeep owner previously, I am pleased with the durability and performance of the Jeep brand.
