Safety hazard; Mirrors and columns obstruct vision - big time. Dangerous!!! GPS; Use your phone or buy another car. GPS tends to gives bogus directions. It sends me in/out of the freeway for no reason. Hum; car hums. Dealer says "Hemi hum", period - end of story. They demonstrated that other GC do the same. Radio; Volume must be adjusted and re-adjusted each time we change AM to AM and back. If you do so - to avoid commercials - buy another car. Dealership acknowledged the problem, demonstrated that other 2014 GC do the same and replaced the radio - to no avail. Reception is very weak as well. Too many useless buttons on steering wheel. Other electronic features are inadequate as well.

Cool looking car, but it's not a Jeep anymore

Jeep really needs to stop advertising this junk as a Jeep. The brand used to mean rugged durability and off roading. Now, it's a Hyundai/Mitsubishi engine. Don't believe me? Look it up. The drive train is entirely a Mitsubishi, right down to the 3 timing chains. And it's horrible Here are all the issues we had with ours. It was meticulously maintained, all maintenance and more done. We had no choice. It broke so often we didn't have a chance to let the maintenance lapse. 1. Bad rocker arm (google rocker arm issues and these cars) $550 2. Another bad rocker arm ($550) 3. Yet another bad group of rocker arms. Replaced all 24 and all 24 lash adjusters ($1800) 4. 5 bad rocker arms caused the cams to slip and damaged 10 or more valves. Had to rebuild both heads and replace almost all the valves $3300 5. SERVICE 4WHEEL DRIVE light. Dealer had our car for 5 MONTHS and we replaced the transfer case motor, positioning sensor, then all the internal parts. $4000 6. Leaking rear diff caused damage to gears $1300 7. Cracked radiator?? $890 8. 3 bad catalytic converters apparently the life span on 1 is about 50k miles if i remember right $6000 9. Failing fuel pump never fixed 10. 12 error codes when we traded it in 11. Replaced plenum Because the screw holes stripped from being removed so often $2000 And that doesn't include the 3 times we changed the spark plugs trying to get it to run smoother, oil changes, tire costs, brakes and rotors, multiple radiator flushes. And this was over 2 years The interior is subpar for the $40k price tag. The infotainment was so dated, carpet wore out very quickly in spots, the soft plastic and fake chrome peeled in multiple spots. Our 7 yr old car looked so bad when we traded it in and we baby our cars. Take my advice, DONT BUY A CHRYSLER PRODUCT

BMW goes Jeep

I've been driving a long list of German cars over the past 20 years - in fact this is my first American car. My last vehicle was a BMW X6. After two weeks with my GC Summit, I have to admit that it's fun to drive, has excellent performance, great fuel economy for a 5K plus pound vehicle, and is quiet. There are some differences in interior fit and finish quality. Some of the plastic on the center console looks cheap and is in stark contrast to the generally great quality of the dash/instrument panel and seating. Overall, however, for a car with a list prices of nearly $25K less than an X6, it's a great value.

Just purchase an one owner with 112K miles. I am impressed with its very low road and tire noise, engine and transmission smoothness, and its gas mileage. On the drive back from Knoxville on a 400 mile trip, its actual mpg was 27.5mpg. Its 25 gallon tank is great for road trips. My son's 2008 GC with its thirsty 3.7L V-6 hardly got 19mpg on highway. Seat comfort and handling are very good. The IP info are easy to scroll thru while driving. The U Connect is one of the best and simplest to operate I have ever seen. Many people think how wonder Toyota is......I sold my ( purchased new) 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport since I could not stand its wimpy V-6 and terrible 6 speed transmission. The GC has handled driving thru icy and snowy weather really well. The check engine light has been coming on with some regularity now. It come one for a few days and goes away and comes back again. It drives fine but when it comes on it disables the remote start . Other than the check engine light coming on, the rest of the vehicle is doing well. Still very smooth and solid with no rattles.

This little problem could make your whole Jeep Grand Cherokee experience go very wrong. I have always loved the look for the JGC, but Chrysler's Customer Service stinks!!!!! This TIPM problem has made owning my JGC a joke!
