Never Again
The most frustrating ownership experience in over 50 years of car ownership. My Grand Cherokee is a 3.0 diesel. Minor irritations would include the frightening suspension clunking when the ride height is set to maximum, but my major issue is service. Or to put it more plainly, the terrible service. Like other owners, I am constantly required to go to the dealer to get the computer 'scanned'. The number of 'codes' is always overwhelming, and the dealer is ALWAYS at the mercy of the factory for instructions as to how to correct the problems. I never get my car back the same day, Sometimes it is two weeks, or more.
Transmission failure
After about 30 seconds driving forward, the car shifted from 2nd gear back to first gear. The car practically skidded to shift back to first. I was thrown forward in the car. It would not shift out of first. The engine light came on. They said something is wrong with the transmission. They said with a car this new, they do not have the knowledge to fixing the transmissions. They replaced the transmission. I picked it up on a Monday, November 24 and drove it home. The next day, I had the problem again. When turning on 4 lane road, the vehicle started to go across the intersection and stopped in middle. Needless to say, they cant find a problem with it. I dont want the car anymore.

Highway Robbery
I bought this car in March and it has been broken from day 1.The lights in the air conditioning panel never lit up but some of the others did. I asked the sales person about it and he said "those lights don't illuminate in this model". I brought the car back for service. They kept my car for the day, 'ran some updates' and they still didn't light up. In addition my trunk wasn't opening 90% of the time. I was told if they couldn't duplicate the problem it couldn't be fixed. I took it to another service center instead. The whole light panel had to be replaced and updates hadn't been done at all to my car from before I bought it. Three trips later my trunk still wont open most of the time.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 Diesel
It could be an excellent vehicle, sharp looking, fun to drive and all the bells. But there is where it stops. My first american car after over 18 years of Japanese and German. To put it short, the most expensive and also worst vehicle I have ever bought/owner. Just within 5000 miles I had the car at the dealership for the same electronic issue and they still could not figured it out. I never had so much stress owning any vehicle. Finally I had enough and traded it in after only five months of ownership. What a pity. It is absolutely sad, that Chrysler has not more pride in their product. Consequently this will be my last Chrysler product ever.
Nice to look at, Horrific to drive
The car drove like a dream for the first 500 miles. I'm at 8,200 and every mile in between has been a nightmare. The transmission slams up and down, causing a terribly uncomfortable ride-and remember it has 8 gears so it is constantly changing gears. In the morning, the transmission has become so rough I feel as though I am being rear ended. I have had it at two different dealerships to solve the issues and both have told me it is normal-and if it something were actually wrong a fault light would illuminate. I was issued a case manager with jeep corporate. She refused to return calls-I went three days calling her three times before she picked up.
