Major low gear shift problem due to new engine
I absolutely despise driving this vehicle due to the lower shift gear hesitation when accelerating from a stopped position. We've tried a few computer updates but it didn't help. It's a shame b/c the rest of the vehicle is great - very comfortable, smooth ride, great styling, etc. When I tow the issue is less noticeable b/c its forced to move thru the gears more quickly but then I only get 11.5 mpg. Whenever people tell me they are thinking about purchasing one, I hand them my keys for a test drive. I always get them back with a "No way." I'm skeptical of any review that can overlook this major issue.
A Huge Disappointment
After a car accident in which my car was totaled I was thrilled to lease a brand new Grand Cherokee. It was the first time I felt safe in a car after test driving many other SUV's. A year and a half into my lease, all I have had are nightmares. I have had so many electrical issues with this car I am actually afraid when driving. The entire dashboard has gone completely blank while I've driven it on 2 separate occasions. I had to bring the car back another time because the car beeped telling me my seatbelt wasn't secure. Multiple times I've had to reprogram stations & set up the phone again because the system randomly shuts down. I also have the washer fluid light beeping empty when full

Incredible vehicle
I would keep this Jeep until it fell apart if it wasn't for the fact I need a much larger SUV. This Jeep has out performed any vehicle I have owned including the BMW's I have owned. I takes me safely over the mountains in snow and ice, rain or shine. The hemi v8 has more power than I normally would need except for when I do need it, it is right beneath my foot and it never let's me down. The interior is very comfortable and stylish..the sound system is the best. Really like the fact that I can use the paddle shift for economy when pulling a hill or decending hill or just about anywhere I choose. I could go on and on about this Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Hemi V8..I suggest you take one for a drive.

Dissapointed!!
I love the comfort and look of my Jeep Grand Cherokee in eco diesel, but I have been non stop at the dealer since the first day I stepped out of the dealer. I have owned this vehicle not even a year and it has been in service for 4 times for check engine light. I have wasted countless hours waiting for my car and the service telling me they are not up to date on how to take care of the problem. I call Chrysler customer care and they told me there is nothing they can do but keep fixing it. I was told to leave with the car even though it was telling me it needed to be serviced and so engine didn't start a day later, I had it towed to the dealer and they supposedly fixed the problem. I feel stuck not knowing if this car is safe or who to turn too? The dealers are no help.Think twice on this pricey problem.

RUN
I was excited to purchase this vehicle after doing much research on it. This is my first American car, but I think after this purchase, I will never buy American again. It's recall after recall and the parts are rarely available. Several times I've tried to get into my car and the remote didn't work, didn't recognize the key nor did it start. I love the ride of the truck and the look, but it's not worth it in the long run. I need a safer vehicle and I'm disappointed that this did not make the mark.
