Used 1991 Isuzu Trooper Consumer Reviews
I can't believe it!!! It's still runs!!
I purchased my 1991 Isuzu Trooper in June 2001. A copule of things I notice right away: huge fuel tank (22 gals), poor gas mileage (13-15 mpg), & the poor performance (140 hp). But after some nominal maintenance, it wasn't a bad second car. I accepted a job on the West Coast. So I pack up my stuff and the Isuzu and moved 2800 miles to California. The truck (loaded to it's maximun weight) performed suprisingly well. With the air conditioning running, climbing mountain ranges, at a decent speed, I encountered no hiccups. I'm now approaching my second year with 133,000 miles. Don't get me wrong, it needs work, but it just keeps running!
Still truckin'
Nothing feels better than driving this 'minisemi' You sit so high, your Scenery is excellent. Steel bumpers, not that plastic that dealership always selling now. Those steel bumper saved my trooper when i crash it, engine turned out fine nothing wrong. They couldn't have done a better job with the interior, no plastic overload, like there is nowadays, just the essential glove box, that's it. excellent foot room. IMO this stick shift is shift to end all shifts, you definitely have a clear sense of what gear your in. Also easy to Self maintain easiest access in the hood.
Tank Trooper
Had my trooper for a long time now, have 210k miles and counting. No real problems, great for hauling cargo. Lots of space when back seat is folded. Not the best on gas or most powerful engine, great 4x4. Gets the job done and takes all the abuse I can dish out. Made of steel, not plastic like all the cars made nowadays. It also feels great to drive around knowing that its a "real" SUV, not like these wannabees being made now that never see anything other than asphalt. Highly rec. to anyone looking for one. A great reliable car that won't quit. This car is still running strong and I feel I can still go at least another 100k miles before I replace the engine.
Great Vehicle!
Bought mine 2nd hand in 1998 for my 2 teenagers to share. It took all that they could dish out (on and off road). When they moved on to their own vehicles I took it over and modified her up and turned her into a baja exploration vehicle. I rebuilt the motor because of a cracked head and away we went! Now she has 325K miles on her as she resides at my vacation home in southern baja (Mexico) as my primary vehicle. she has never failed me in any of the brutal situations I've been in, she's a totally bomb proof and fearless SUV! All the positive things said in the above reviews are absolutely true. I LOVE IT! My problem now is getting general parts, they are getting harder to come by
254,000 Miles and still ok
Well, I'm the second owner of this vehicle and still love the car. It's a great car to drive and to sit in, unlike the other cars we have. When I got this car, it was badly taken care of. They didn't take good car of it (oil changes, etc.) but the car was still good. I would highly recomend the car, if you can get a low price on it.
