With only 3 weeks of ownership, I can't really tell what's good and what's bad. I do know if your are short in stature. hooking the seat belt is almost impossible. I have already used a pull and have an extension ordered. The tailgate is another problem. It is so high, I can't reach it. I am waiting for the dealer to install a pull. The 50QX fulfills my dream of making my last car a luxury one.

Other than the cup holder being on the small side I can find nothing I don’t like about this vehicle,The engine is amazing,Very easy to be speeding and not realize it,Handling with the 19” tires feels stuck to the road on curves,Just love going out joy riding,2017 was the qx50 best year for quality and zero recalls,Just love this vehicle.

326 hp in a mid size awd SUV that handles and rides like a sport sedan with all the bells and whistles !! Mechanically sound, no issues. Only thing I wish it had was a power lift gate.

Japanese Quality- Made in Japan

The last of the Infiniti SUVs still made assembled and shipped from Japan. Not saying there are issues with mexico but this vehicle has Jewel like assembly. Hood seams so tight you can roll a bear. This quality is apparent throughout. Seat stitching that is perfect there are no loose threads. Paint is 5 of 5. No panels are misshaped, the engine is a marvel of bottom end grunt. Gas, who cares if you buy a luxury vehicle You're going to whine about high insurance and spending a couple bucks at the gas pump? Buy a Toyota. Cost of ownership for this vehicle is nil. The 20 gallon tank takes me nearly all the way from San Francisco to Las Vegas I don't get gas until past LA. 20 gallon tank. I've had it this QX50 for going on 5 years and it's not my primary driver. The other car in the garage is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Which is a 2014. There is no comparison while the horsepower numbers are similar this Infiniti would torch the Grand Cherokee. My WK gets the same mileage as the Infinity with a V8 engine in the WK. This is very much a performance vehicle. The twin air intakes means you have to buy twin air filters so that can be a little pricey but you have to let this engine breathe. The original tires they were Bridgestone potenzas. These tires were garbage. I think I ditched them about 5,000 mi into the first year of ownership. I installed Michelin AS4 all season pilots. This thing handles like an MG through the turns with the pilots installed. Night and Day difference in handling. The all-wheel drive insurers that a heavy foot in loose surface will stay under control. Although it could be easy to get away from you with that kind of torque the all-wheel drive and stability control will pull you out of the worst road conditions. The Michelin pilots aired up to about 45 PSI stability control off and using the sport shifter it can be very gratifying. Storage is non-existent you can find those tack on knit bags and attach those to the center console for your phone and it leaves your center console uncluttered. The craftsmanship on the center console and the fit and finish are par excellence. You could spend a day inside there with a microfiber polishing all the little accents. The stock battery has lasted me well past 5 years It's just I don't drive it much so I have had to replace the battery with optima a red top.
