2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Consumer Reviews

Amazing efficiency and comfort
Due to age and mileage, I needed to replace my wife's Mercedes R500, which has served us very well for dog hauling, long-distance family trips, and daily use over 90K miles, as well as my S430, which has been a great mile-eater but not used enough. With the nearest MB dealer 90 miles away, and the local indie mech crazy busy, changing brands was a necessity. After searching for a replacement for over a year, and driving 20+ cars, the best choice to meet our needs was a 2025 Tucson Hybrid. It finally arrived last week, and the 2-for-1 deal was concluded with no hassle. I'm a car guy, mostly European sports and luxury, and I have to say the the newest Hyundai Tucson is as competent as any MB, Saab or BMW I've owned at a bargain price (for what it offers). Roomy, great seats, beautiful finishes, and so far 40+ MPG. It's quieter than my S-class, as roomy as you can get in such a small footprint, and with tech and customization of features and drive modes as you can get. I hate CVT's - so the 6-speed auto (plus hybrid drive) are great. Selectable regen is a plus (although when the smallish battery is charged it shuts off). The factory tires aren't the best but they do seem to boost mileage - we'll see how they do in snow. Steering is light and precise - and road manners are excellent. Brakes are good. Visibility is excellent. The hybrid's power is good for most situations - zippy around town, and easy passes on the highway. I'm surprised at how much the car drives on electric power alone - with very smooth transition to the gas engine. The new (for 2025) dash and instrument display is elegant and works great. Climate control is solid. We'll have to see how it is after a few months and more miles, but the initial impression it makes couldn't be better.

Hybrid Power
The 1.6L engine is underpowered but with the hybrid option it gives this vehicle the horsepower to be fun to drive. The seats are very comfortable for long drives. I love the dashboard with the integrated head unit/infotainment center. I don't like vehicles that stick the infotainment screen on top of the dash like an afterthought which interferes with the windshield view. I love the heads-up display so you can keep your eyes on the road. The only negative is the plastic trim on the doors that can get scratched.

Love this car! Just a couple little issues...
First and foremost, I really love this car! I love the looks (inside and out), the tech, the ride... All great - at least so far... I got it in September 2024, it's March 2025 now and I only have 1,500 miles on it. I'm a tech guy and this car has it all! I got the top of the line Limited to get them all. So, the little issues - sort of in order of frustration 1) The Tucson has a great feature - a button to use the hybrid battery to 'jump' the regular 12V battery in case it dies. I figured I would never have to use it. Well, I've used it 4 times so far! Although I live in New England and it can get very cold, my car is always in the garage at home which does not get below 45 degrees. And this is where I had to use the button. I got an email from my car (cool right!) that said make sure I didn't leave any accessories on that may be draining my battery. After googling they say maybe the digital key could be the cause - which I had set up (you can use your phone for a key). I turned that off and so far so good - but no digital key for me! 2) The side mirrors on the Limited are not able to be folded in - lesser models have it 3) The clock for the car has more than one location depending on what screen you are on. So, you must look around for it - and on one screen setup (the one I like the most) has no clock at all. That should be a software update fix to me... 4) When going through a car was and you have to have your car in neutral, at the end when you have to put it in drive to leave, you can't put it in drive without first putting your foot on the brake - so you have to do that really quickly so the car behind you does not run into you. 5) The Tucson has some great colors, but the Limited model has limited colors - so I could not get the Tucson color I really wanted. So that's it - extremely glad I purchased this car - at least so far!

Winter
Great car. Comfortable, quiet, lots of power and it gets better fuel economy runnning around town than on the highway. One design flaw that needs to be fixed is the rear signal lights. They should be at eye level especially in winter when the snow gets caked on the back. Visibility is very poor.

MY TERMINAL CAR, 24TH OVER 63 YEARS DRIVING
I have 600 miles on this beauty. Best color ever: cashmere bronze. Super loaded with 17 high tech features I had never had before. My wife chose this over RAV4; we both disliked the tall protrusion over the dash of Toyota's touch screen. Full auto wipers with defrost, cameras all around, dynamic cruise control. Lane assist is almost robotic steering. I flew jets for Navy, but this purchase was difficult due to features, my age 78, and all the new technology. I think it will take me about 3 months to learn the car. 5 Owners manuals covering 1,000 pages that I am going through. Very safe car that is a moving computer.

Amazing car for $
Traded my BMW X3 after being blown away during test drive. Comes with more tech, leather, is quieter and rides better than X3 for at least $10k less. Hyundai has learned a lot from Genesis and it shows with Hybrid Tucson. Also getting around 33mpg combined with hybrid and saving $20 per fill up compared to premium gas with X3.

Great except for one glaring issue
Interior is sharp with high quality materials. Exterior styling is great too. Performance is pretty darn good. Great MPG in city situations(35-45) and so-so on the highway(25 to 30). The issue: 12V battery life when parked is 3 to 4 days. Then manual unlocking after removing plastic key cover on door handle is required.

Love my car
I love this car. It gets great mileage and I don’t have to plug it in to regenerate the battery. It does this as I drive! I bought it because of all the safety features it has. It’s very quiet and comfortable to ride in. I highly recommend this model. .
Great Car
A lot of power and many features. Does not self parallel park as indicated in online video but I love the car. Many great safety features particularly the side lane view when signal to change lanes.

In Beauty Only
Bought this brand new, 2025 Limited Hybrid and it was a mistake. The flashy look caught my eye, but it's been downhill since. First and foremost, the hybrid gas mileage sucks. I now have 1500 miles on the car and I'm averaging 29.2 mpg. I am a very average driver. Not the slowest, not the fastest. I go with the flow. I don't want to hear Hyundai tell drivers that there is a break-in period. That is BS. My old Venza hybrid was getting 34-38 from day one. Now the infotainment system isn't much better. Again, it looks flashy, but the home screen is a bore and I wake up everyday to my Sirius radio resetting to channel 1. This car is stunning in beauty and a disaster on quality. Don't be deceived.

GoodQuality
Everything works very well. The option packages we received were great. Everything we needed plus much more. When we compared our option packages to other manufacturers, Hyundai gave you more for your buck and in our opinion when you compare $ to $. Your investment in purchasing your Tucson is more worth than anything else you were thinking of purchasing.

Miserable gas mileage
Purchased a 2025 Hyundai Tucson hybrid in November 2024. The advertised mileage was 36/37, but after six months of driving we’re getting 26/27 and I’m not a fast driver. That and there are several design problems - the start button is hidden behind the steering wheel, the rear turn signals are a foot off the ground, if we push the button on the rear hatch to close it we have to wait until it’s fully closed before we can get in the car. Otherwise it opens up again and we can’t close it using the button inside the car. Extremely annoying when you’re standing in pouring rain waiting for the hatch to close. We traded in our Subaru Outback, which we loved, and paid extra for this hybrid in order to get better gas mileage. The non-hybrid Outback got better mileage, I’d never buy another Hyundai again.
GET AWAY FROM HYUNDAI
The Air Bags in my brand new, one month old 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid N Series broke my jaw, blew my teeth away and fractured my ribs going at 45 mph when a careless driver hit me coming out of a parking lot . This useless expensive vehicle was completely destroyed in this unexplicable accident and the spend that it happened at, didn't merit all the personal injuries I sustained. I intended to sue Hyundai and no law office wanted the case because I didn't sustained enough INJURIES. I had to be half dear or dear. ALL THE GOOD RATINGS ARE JUST PUBLICITY STUNTS WITH LOTS AND LOTS OF LOBBYING.

Nice, small car
I liked the car a lot and had done quite a bit of research prior to driving. Loaded with features. Smooth drive. Handsome look. The seats were just a bit too narrow for our old, spreading bottoms! And, while the price was quite reasonable, I decided I should by used instead and spend $18,000 less during these precarious economic times.
