Used 2023 Hyundai Kona Consumer Reviews
What's Next
Bought the car new and at 4000 miles recall on CVT oil pump controller. At 7000 miles the engine temperature sensor went bad. What is next?

No cruise control
The car definitely is fine for around town, but for long distance road trip the cruise control does not hold. The car went from 71mph setting to 65mph without any warning. No vehicles ahead of me or beside me. This feature is very unreliable. Even in lower mileage settings it doesn’t hold mph for any distance. Dealership has not been able to reproduce, but has not driven it on the open highway. I have turned off the automatic breaking because on a trip at 65mph a car cut me off and the vehicle went totally out of control. At less than 8000 miles already had to have the horn replaced. Hyundai has not responded to my repeated requests to have a my caseworker contact me to discuss the issues. I would like to know if anyone else has had these problems or know if there is a recall on this issue.

Fun Driving
Too many apps, small trunk area without putting seats down are my only negative. Love the rest of vehicle, sporty, lots of gadgets, too smart for its own good. Easy to park with the backup camera and sensors.
Kool kona car
Bought the 2023 SEL kona 2.0 liter for my companies errand vehicle. I've adopted the little car because it's fun to drive, handles and merges in traffic Effortlessly. Getting 380 miles out of 11.3 gallons of gas. Comfortable with many helpful safety features. Don't care for the auto/start mode or or lane keeping modes. Can be disabled.
Great economy car, poor aftermarket support.
Adequate space for a small car - feels roomy. Very solid construction. Excellent all-wheel drive system. Great fuel economy. Front seats could be more supportive (need better bolsters). Hate the remote start - sometimes has to be tried 3 times before it works. Minimal road noise - excellent sound proofing. Hate the 600 (!!!) Page manual. More a lawyer protection document than a useful tool. Drove the car 5,000 miles. Car (service light), manual, and email from Kona told me to change the oil. Wanted to use my "free service plan". Dealership didn't want to do it. Claimed that I had to wait 8,000 miles for first oil change. Online manual had been changed. But I could pay myself. Nor using the online features of the car because of its lack of privacy. I refused to accept Hyundai's privacy policy, (as updated), so they won't give me access to the features. Probably still gathering/selling the data though.
