First the good- love the interior room Now the not so good- at 500 miles discovered cv boot leaked all its grease- no rip/tear factory problem- rear speaker sounds blown- dealer adjusted bass-said it was fixed- the cv boot was fixed, not happy with the resolution of the other issues. I feel the vehicle is over-rated. MPG around 11 in city- I got 10 with my suburban. Why would Honda put cheap, poor handling tires on such an expensive vehicle? New tires make a big difference in handling. I am not impressed so far.

The vehicle is small and does not take bumps very well. The doors shut and make a noise like tin cans. The vehicle seems cheap and can't pull anything but a really small trailer (really small) Lots of road noise. If you look under the vehicle from the rear, the exhaust pipe looks funny the way it is routed. It hangs down and looks like a string of spegetti.

I traded my Silverado z71 for this pilot for better gas mileage. The truck got better gas mileage than this Honda! I have owned many suvs and this is the most uncomfortable one yet! Do not buy this car if you have to drive in snow above two inches. The brakes lock and you MUST turn off the stability control to make it safe. There are a lot of squirrels where I live but this car is the squirreliest thing on the road in more than two inches of snow. Thank God I kept my Suburban so I can drive it in bad weather and feel safe! I wish I had not listened to my wife and bought a Landrover Lr3. Know anyone that wants to trade?

I have honda pilot 2006 with just 36000 miles and at 4100miles it starts giving me knocking noice from engine and few weeks later it stops on high way their is a big problem in engine and mechanics say they need to change the motor. I bought it because of reliability i didn't find reliability and it is a gas guzzler.

We purchased our 2006 Pilot in November of '05, so we only have 2,000 miles on it. That said, we really like the Pilot. The ride is very smooth for a SUV and the features you get for the money are great. The build quality of our Pilot is excellent, the materials used are all nice, and our previous experience with Honda cars & vans has been good too. We wish the mileage was a little better, but we like the quick acceleration so we live with the trade off. The in dash XM radio is another favorite feature. AWD system works well in snow. Our insurance jumped up $35 a month compared to the Honda Odyssey we traded-in so check your insurance costs before you buy. Overall, a great SUV!
