I purchased my Passport in March and the entire vehicle is outstanding, much more comfortable than i thought it was going to be. Probably the best vehicle I've ever purchased and I'm 61. After having my Passport now for some months I’m still enjoying the vehicle and my original assessment remains today, Outstanding.

I never give full stars in a review as I believe nothing is "perfect". I love my Passport. I've had it for 3 months. Things I love: The seats are so comfy. The cabin is spacious and roomy. The cargo is bar none. The start stop (idle stop) is very good--almost too good. I've seen it on other SUVS where it barely worked, or had to have all these other factors in place before it worked. Not the Passport--it WORKS all the time. Good smooth ride. Nice and high drive. You are in command in this vehicle. Things I don't like: Radio is glitchy. Acceleration punch is more like a tap. Safety features over sensitive at times--example, an oncoming truck the other side of a 2 lane road is not a BRAKING moment. Those things are irritating, but I get it. We are in this transitional times in cars where there is almost "too" much for the car to handle. It's to be expected. Can't run to the dealer every time your radio display "freezes" up. These are computers folks, and we have to expect these issues. Just make sure to purchase the warranty package. The finance guy told me that dealers now a days don't even make their money on the car purchase. It's the service fees and the labor rates that make the dealerships the most money. Get the $3k plan that will cover it all. If you intend on keeping the car for longer than the manufacturer warranty (usually 3 years/36 months), its a purchase you have to make. Sucks that it's like that these days, but just the reality.

I gave up on our Passport

We have been a Honda Family since 1977 with the purchase of our Carolina Yellow Civic HB. Passport...from the start when backing into our driveway we would hear a "clunk" while turning the wheel to the right. It wasn't from shifting to reverse, it was after moving that it would make the sound and you could feel it in the steering wheel. Of course the dealer could not duplicate it and that was frustrating, but the service dept is one of the best around. The other problem and what was a major decision maker in getting rid of the vehicle was this: Driving home from shopping, doing between 55-60mph and on a two lane rd that merges into four lanes....sunny day, no rain, no clouds and we make a slight turn from a two lane highway to four lane when the Passport just simply SLAMS the brakes on! My wife says "What happened, why did you hit the brakes like that"? I immediately looked in my rear view mirror to make certain I wasn't going to be rear ended and thankfully the car behind me was about 1/8 mile back and the Passport finally started to accelerate again. I had never taken my foot off of the gas and there was nothing in the road ahead of us. I told my wife that if we had been on I95 in traffic we would have created one heck of a disaster, I'm talking a multiple pile up. It never happened again at that spot or any other, but we lost faith in that vehicle and simply traded it in not wanting to fight the dealer. It is a wonderful driving vehicle, quiet, tons of power when needed, looks great and you feel safe with all that metal around you. Very comfortable, loads of room, BUT we just never trusted it after that. The "clunk" finally resolved itself after a few months. There were a few other things that really bothered us....lane keep made you feel like a ping pong ball....I've been in a Kia Soul that was much better at keeping the car centered....we didn't care for the auto stop, nor the placement of warning light for the side mirror (Blind Spot Warning)....it should be in the mirror, not on the plastic inside the vehicle.....that made no sense. The push button is nice, but the hesitation from Park to Drive or any other gear is terrible. We Love you Honda, but you need to get your act together!

Nice vehicle, firm ride

One month into ownership, like the vehicle but compared to my 2017 Pilot EXL I traded, the Passport has a firmer ride. Suspect that is because of the 20” wheels. That’s my only complaint, otherwise it’s a great vehicle. Don’t need the third row, don’t want the DVD player that is in the Pilot Touring. Really like the upgraded sound system, roominess of the cabin and even the 9 speed transmission. Much improved over the 9 speed in my 2015 MDX. Very happy with my Passport Touring.
