Disappointed
I really, really loved this car until this morning. I was waxing my car and trying to polish out what I thought was water spots. On closer inspection it was obvious that the paint was chipping in radial patterns all over the hood of my car. Worst paint job ever. Don't buy this car if you have expectations of a paint lasting over three months.
I love my Insight!
I decided to look at hybrids when my old SUV qualified under the Cash for Clunkers program. I was attracted primarily to the Insight because of its sportier design by comparison to other hybrids I looked at. Any improvement in mileage was a leap forward from my SUV so super duper gas mileage wasn't my primary goal. I just wanted a vehicle kinder to the environment. My mpg almost exactly matched the advertised mpg of 41 city and 43 highway until I got interested in hypermiling techniques about four months ago. I'm now consistently getting 48-51 mpg (and rising) with my daily in-town commute. I've been astounded how a few minor changes in my driving habits have made so much difference.

All around nice car
My honda has 4300 miles on it now. I went to change the oil and dealer said not to change until the car told me to. I could possible get 8000 miles before oil change wow. Went from LasVegas to Knott's Berry farm California at 75 m.p.h.It took 5 Gallons of gas. my daughter and I had a great time in the insight a little uncomfortable after 4 hours on the road. The nave system was great! Would like to see gas cap lock instead of pushing on it to open it. this way nobody can get to your tank. All around nice car so far.
love this car
This is my first hybrid purchase and i did not know what to expect, so I did a lot of research before I set to the dealership to purchase one. Most reviews are accurate, Honda Insight is one car to fall in love with, it is very interactive, fun to drive and most importantly, fuel-efficient. The fact that it is less expensive than the leading hybrid car of its kind makes it more appealing to budget- conscious people like me. I do not regret getting the EX with Navi although that cost me a couple thousand more. It gives the Insight more features than simple navigation alone.
Love this car!
I really didn't believe the MPG promises made by the dealership, but I wasn't concerned because I knew it would be better than my trade in. In econo mode, I'm getting about 46 MPG on surface streets! That is mind boggling! I routinely get about 50 on my commute which is a mix of freeway and surface streets. I do turn the econo mode off during the hot AZ summers and the mileage is still really good, probably about 45 MPG on my commute. The performance is great. I can pass when I need to pass, accelerate to get on the freeway. I also store a surprising amount of cargo in the back, with the seats folded down.
