Used 2023 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
A little disappointing
Purchased a new sport touring hybrid about three weeks ago. The MPG has not been that great. Not much better than my 2019 non hybrid. I found out after I bought it that Honda did away with both the garage door opener and the driving/fog lights. Very disappointing. The car seems to drive smoother and quieter than my 2019 so I am happy with that. Update: After owning my 2023 sport hybrid for five months I will report that I am pretty happy with the car. The gas mileage has settled at 35 mpg overall which is reasonable. One thing I notice is overall lack of power and how hard the little engine works to get it. Also having some issues with the adaptive cruise control shutting off for no reason. The dealer reset the system a few days ago so we will see if that helps. Overall I am very happy with the car

Underbody Shields Falling off and Corroded
$418 to have the shields replaced, the dealer suggested this is common. I would suggest you ask your dealer if this has been fixed.

Hybrid CRV transmission recall
Bought two new 2023 Hybrid Honda CRVs For over 80K. Both car’s transmissions behave very erratically by revving up to 5000RPM or more when at cruise without any aggressive accelerator input. I mentioned this to the salesperson, and his response was that I am experiencing new car buyer pickiness. Taking one of the cars back for it’s first oil change, again I described the problem to the service writer, only to be told that maybe the oil change will fix the problem. I told her that I also own a Hybrid BMW 5 series which does not behave with violent spikes in RPM and shifting. Her response was that I should not compare one car brand with another, not even with any other Honda Hybrid model. To make matters worst I found out that Honda currently has a recall for transmission problem for Hybrid Honda CRVs. I have not received any recall letters, but describing the problem to the dealer should have triggered further action. The final failure was when on a Toyota site I attempted to get a trade in value on the Honda CRVs, the trade in calculator red flags the Hybrid CRV, and does not give a trade in value. I believe Honda is aware of this problem, but it is not being forthcoming with taking appropriate action. Don’t buy Hybrid CRVs until this issue is resolved.

Cold As Ice
Pretty happy with the car with one glaring exception. Due to the small 1.8 engine, this car takes forever to heat up to a comfortable level during MN winters. If the temperature is below 30 degrees it needs to be driven about 15 minutes just to get a little heat. Also the blower strength drops off dramatically when selecting the windshield/floor option which means I constantly have to switch back and forth between just floor then back to just the windshield which is ridiculous, I have never had a vehicle that does this before. So I am constantly juggling frozen feet and the windshield fogging up. I brought to the dealer and they said everything is working as it should, and it's just due to small engine. I would not recommend the CRV for cold weather states.

Liked my old CR-V better
Like: integrated technology, smooth ride, super quiet, being able to remote start my car. Dislike: Cargo Area-seats do not fold down flat (there is a hump in the middle), huge gap between front seat & cargo area, nowhere to harness a dog, no storage cubbies. The power front seats cannot be programmed to go all the way back when exiting (seat memory). I have owned CR-Vs since they came out and the basic designs were always functional for someone who only buys SUVs because I own big dogs. The new design doesn't work well for hauling dogs. So disappointing.
