Used 2015 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
Great budget car
It is a rather sport car that greatly mixes price of ownership and fun to drive. It is rare that after owning a car for three years that you can still like it. It promised and delivered the fuel economy on the sticker mostly getting above 30 mpg. I would recommend this car for anyone who is on a budget but wants a fun car to drive. It checks all those boxes.

Love my Scarlett
2015 Red SI Sedan. Bought used with 4k on the odo in 2016. Previous owner had it for exactly one year. Great sports car and bang for the buck. This is not a euro luxo sports car. Its a drivers car. If you're looking for a luxo euro feel move on, this is not for you. 205 horses get up and go very nicely. Shift throws are wonderful. Handling on Continentals factory equipped is really nice. I'm 6' 1" and fit comfortably, seats grab you and settle you in. Again, sports car feel. You can pay more and get more (Focus, WRX or WRX STI) but the performance of the SI and value is unbeatable. Had a 96 civic with over 300k that my son now drives so its a Honda with Honda reliability. Love the touch screen and the stereo. Mine does not have the navi system on it so i cant really comment on it. My only 2 complaints, drivers side mirror does not toggle far enough to the right so there is a blind spot and you need to be careful changing lanes to the drivers side (left side has the camera, maybe this gets tweaked in 2017). I miss the temperature and oil gauges which are now idiot lights. Other than that, i am super happy with this car. Its a joy to drive in the city or the highway and i get 32 mpg on the highway at 75-80. Hopefully plan to drive this one for a few years as well.

Overrated
Let me start by saying; of all the cars I test drove, the 2015 Civic LX had the most comfortable interior in the affordable small car class, so that's why I leased it. Here's the things I do not like about the car: The transmission or the CVT as it is called. If you enjoy the driving experience, you'll hate this transmission like I do. Hit the gas, nothing happens, and then the rpms go up and you start to move. It's called the motorboat effect. This transmission is continually shifting and it's very annoying. Who wants a car that is shifting from 70mph to 72? I was having a hard time driving it. I thought something was wrong with the transmission so I took it back to Honda dealer. Mechanic just laughed and said, "that's the way they made it". The other mechanic said, "next time, get the 6-speed". All the frustration is magnified, when running the A/C. I read online that this transmission will get one more mile to the gallon. 1 more mpg? Ridiculous. Around 2,000 miles, the engine developed a loud ticking noise, so back to the Honda Dealer. Was told it is noisy valves and "that's the way Honda makes it". Inside door panel pops in and out when raising and lowering door windows. Has to be a design or manufacturing flaw. Back up camera pretty useless. Can't see much when the sun is out and does not make a noise or visual warning before you back into something. No matter how high you lift the seat, you can't see the front of the car. Can't even see the hood for that matter so be prepared to hit some curbs, especially when parking. Suspension pretty weak and soft brake pedal takes too long to stop the car. Taking car in to get the dim lights adjusted. Would like to see more than 100 feet when driving at night. Interior is cool and car looks nice, but the lack of response on the road makes this car a not so fun driver and will be trading it in soon.

Overall, a great daily driver
Recently bought a 2015 Civic LX sedan with the 5 speed manual transmission, which I think is the best combination for a daily commuter car. To date, my gas mileage has averaged 37mpg doing about a 40 / 60 mix of city and highway driving. The manual transmission also makes the best of the 1.8R engines meager power band. When searching for a new car, I also looked at the Mazda3, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, and the Kia Forte. I felt the Civic had the best balance of features of all of them, the dealer giving me a competitive price of $16,250 cinched the deal. I did like the Mazda and the Ford's more fun to drive characteristics, but the Honda felt like a better built car. **Update**. After 1 year of ownership, average gas mileage has improved to 38 - 39 mpg, best freeway only gas mileage has been 42.5mpg. Still wish the car had at least another 30 hp and torque.

Sporty ride
This is a great car for the price. It's sporty and fun to drive. If you have children or are going to be driving other people around you probably want to consider the 4 - door.
