Slow boat to nowhere
I picked up this silk wallet and it was still a sows ear. Loud inside . When I demoed it the salesman said oh don't accelerate too fast it might not be good 4 the engine. so I obliged and drove it medium speed and it seemed to provide all that I needed. After I bought it , which was my fault as I was in a rush, when I punched it to get it up to 60 on the fwy it sounded like a 1000 pack of black cat firecrackers going off under the hood or tarmac level when a A380 takes off Heavy. Thought the damn thing was going to explode. Then the mileage -- I'm getting sub-20s and I do 50/50 fwy city so I took it in and they said it needs to break in. My foot's gonna break it in soon. there's more but no room.

2010 Honda Civic EX- Great car!
Out of all the compact autos I've owned this gets my #1 favorite car vote. Comfortable buckets seats with nice fabric, lots of room. The engine is so quiet you can hardly tell it is running. Smooth transition between gears. Great power steering and antilock brakes.Super easy operation of moon roof. I'm getting close to 40mpg and this is an automatic.!
Reliability is the key
I love the Civic LX. I gave it an 8 on economy but it's probably closer to a 7. I'm getting 29-30 with 50/50 driving thats a bit lower than I anticipated based on what several salespeople and the sticker claimed. They claimed it was better on fuel economy than the Fit which didn't seem likely but it tipped the scales toward the Civic. I would have probably bought the Civic anyway for better comfort but Fit owners have told me that they were getting in the 35 mpg range. I'm not sure that wasn't some sort of marketing ploy to bump up the sale. If you're choosing between those two look extra closely.
Overall Review
Overall I really like this car. We bought a new Civic EX in 2001 and had virtually no problems with it so we just bought a new 2010 EX to replace it. We drive about 25K miles per year so economy and comfort are important. There have been some nice upgrades over the years and it still feels like a quality vehicle. We paid right around 18K and had a great experience buying it from Metro Honda in Montclair, CA. Using the internet to query several dealers was great. In the end we chose Metro because their price was competitive but just as importantly their customer service was terrific. They also offer a Lifetime Powertrain warranty which is nice considering the miles we drive.
