I absoulutly love it the gas mileage is awesome I can fill it up with 18 dollars and it will last me 2 weeks the interior is very nice and its very fun to drive I really like the face gauges they light up blue at night its pretty cool looking only bad thing is the insurence skyrockets when you get one but a honda will last you a lifetime

Very easy to drive even though it's been ages since I drove one. Smooth clutch/shifter action. Quieter than the competition, feels nice and solid. Driver's seat perfect fit for me. Has right amount of power with headroom. VS. others: focus - no rear head rests, cheap plastic interior, noisy mazda3 - great, but console blocks my leg impreza wagon - felt loose, closing doors caused rattles all over, uncomfortable driver seat bottom forester X - very nice overall, too much $$$, vague stick, not sure I like hill holder vibe (AWD & FWD) - very noisy, no power in automatics mini - very nice, but dealer too far, premium gas element - drives like a truck

Find this baby for under 13k and you have a good deal. Great milage, lots of pep. Kind of plain on the body with sporty rear lights and interior. I'll put 250-300k on this one. It's a commute car for me. And I will probably let my daughter drive it in about three years.

i bought this car for my mom, who's in her 80's and is used to bigger chryslers. she's ecstatic about the car, its economy, safety and comfort. she loves the remote keyless entry and also being under 5' tall, loves the seat adjustment range. its virtually the only car in the price range that fits the small driver well. she can see out of it, and i'm so happy that she is safe behind the wheel

My new civic is a joy to drive. Went from a gas hog Explorer to a gas saver and I am loving it. I get around 36 to 37 MPG on average. In fact I drove a total of 500 miles on vacation without having to fill up. The exterior is sleek and sporty for the class it is in. I do not have a spoiler, but think the spoiler really dresses the car up. The interior is decent but needs serious work (see improvements)!

Still too new to Honda ownership to "speak from experience," however I am amazed at the reputation of the Civic. Even non-car people repeat over and over again upon hearing we bought a Civic, "I hear those things last FOREVER." That is the main reason we went with the Civic. The new stylish look and extras (i.e. moonroof, 15" wheels, etc.) were all a bonus.

After shopping for a Prius for better than a month, stopped into the Honda dealer, drove it home that day for about $5K less, and haven't regretted it for a minute. Actual MPG doesn't match EPA estimate, but that shouldn't shock anyone. Still getting 35 mpg in high Florida summer primarily making "ant trips" of 2-5 miles. Over the winter, consistently broke 40mpg. Efficiency meter, though not entirely accurate, helped me modify my driving habits to maximize mileage. I can't wait to trade in my pickup for a true hybrid there too!

I bought the EX Coupe in late April and found it to be the best car. I looked at many different models and types of cars, but it runs smooth, gas economy is great. The V-Tec engine that does not effect fuel economy when AC is on is a great feature. I love it!

Our second Civic, our other is a '95 (bought new) with 130K miles and is still going strong with no problems. If our old Civic is any indication we are going to have this car a long time. I am pleased though with how much they have improved the cars over the last 10 years. The engine is super-quiet and spunky enough, the 5 speed is like slicing through butter, handling is good and the ride is comfortable without being boring. Civics are automotive engineering realized to the highest level.

As an introductory model for the Civic, this isn't bad. Originally puchased for my teenage son, he rearended someone within 2 weeks, not badly, but enough to get it taken away. Now it is my work car. I own an SI, this is a nimble answer for m-f workday week. Great gas mileage around town in stop/go traffic and enough pep to get me out of trouble, not enough to get me INTO trouble (unlike my SI). Overall, I don't like the hand-roll windows, they make me feel like an idiot, but other than that, I like the car for what it is, a workhorse. A cute workhorse, but a workhorse none the less.

I am a repeat Civic owner, having had a 89 CRX, 92 Acura Integra LS, 95 Civic Coupe EX. Seven trouble free years later needed a new car. I was blown away with the improvements in the Civic. I test drove the Accord Coupe to move upmarket. However I didnt feel there is a big exists anymore. I found the Civic had the best combination of sportiness, clean design, and comfort and most important value in this segment.

I have had the car since 12/03 and am averaging 36.3 mpg per tank. I see that many of you tell of your 40+ MPG tanks and I am wondering why mine is not performing anywhere near that. What's the deal??? Any suggestions? As for the styling, I wanted the dealer to install fog lights and a rear deck spoiler (as offered as an option in the non-hybrid Civics) but they could not do it per instruction from Honda. I purchased the spoiler myself from the dealership and installed it myself - and it looks GREAT! I will soon be looking for other Honda wheels to replace the standard wheels.

Enjoying the Hybrid

I really enjoy driving this car on both long and short trips. The gas mileage is about 47 miles per gallon and it has great pickup on the highway...I have no problem doing 20 mph or 75 mph when needed. It doesn't take long to get the pick-up needed to go from being stopped to going 75 either. I thought it might at first and found I was doing 80 to compensate...so it wasn't necessary to floor it at all. It's a great car and I wish more people knew about the hybrids. I think it's a crime that they do not advertise them the way they do the SUV's and other "gas guzzlers"! Sincerely, Elaine Fox

Not the car to get. It is nothing special and not worth the extra money espeicially when you compare it to the EX model. Does not get anywhere near the gas mileage on the sticker. The car has barely broken 32 mpg around town. If they had one of those "30 day test drive" deals, I would return it.

It's manuf. rated at 48, but I'm getting 44. I driver mostly on the Freeway, in Los Angeles, mostly low- peak hours, averaging 65 Miles Per hour, and getting 44MPG. Still, it uses Regular Gas, rather than my old Super Unleaded that got 21MPG... Better than 50% savings!

No complaints about the car. Its everything I expected - easy to drive, good gas mileage, very well built. However the car was not cleaned properly. I took the car at night, did not do a good inspection. I returned to have an alarm installed and showed the salesman the dirty windows and wheel wells. Guess what? They didn't clean it up, in fact they didn't even rewash the car after installing the alarm. I will not go back to this dealer - Winward Honda, when its time to buy another car. With two other dealers in town, you'd think they'd provide better service.

My salesperson was very knowledgeable (it's his job DUH) but he was also very personable which highly shocked me. I was in and out of the dealership not really but the time just flew by cause the guy was so nice and I felt really involved. I'm just LOVING my FIRST Honda

PICKED THIS CAR UP 3 WKS AGO AND FIRST TIME IT WAS WASHED WE NOTICED SLOPPY PAINT AROUND INTERIOR DOOR PANELS VISIBLE FROM INSIDE WHEN DOOR CLOSED. WITHIN TWO WEEKS A LIGHT MUSTARD COLOR BEGAN TO SHOW THRU THE WHITE PAINT ON FRONT LOWER "AIR DAM" PANEL. RETURNED TO DEALER WITH REQUEST FOR NEW CAR BUT THEY ONLY OFFERED TO REPAIR PAINT. NOT HAVING TOTAL FACTORY PAINT IS A BUMMER, ESPECIALLY ON A NEW HONDA. SERVICE MANAGER STATED PAINT PROBLEM - "IT'S BECAUSE THEIR MAKING THEM SO FAST" (DEMAND AND ALL THAT). WOULD ADVISE NEW OWNERS TO INSPECT CAR CAREFULLY BEFORE TAKING FINAL DELIVERY. ALL OTHER ASPECTS OF CAR FINE.

I just bought an 04 Civic EX. I had owned other Hondas but for a period of time owned an 03 Mazda Protege then an 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Civic I have now runs & drives flawlessly and is solid when it comes to handling. I don't worry like I did with the other cars when I see gas go up. The moral of the story is if you've been a Honda owner especially for a while and are thinking of something else, stick with what you know. You just can't go wrong with these vehicles.

Wow this car is great. I've had it for almost a year now and love it. It's not a sports car but it doesn't drive like an economy car either. The gas milage is great. I get an average of 32 mpg, with mixed driving. More room than I would have expected. I'm 6'3" and can still drive comfortably. The trunk space is also larger than expected.

Absolutely the most economical and fun car to drive. The IMA system smokes some of the fancier cars like the BMW, Jetta, Ford ponies right at the light. I made a trip from NJ to South Carolina (800 miles one way) on 17 gallons of gas. It cost more for the tolls than it did for the fuel! The road pep is surprising. Great sound system as well. Plenty of room for the passengers and the trunk is very roomy. The engine is extremely quiet. Interior cooling and heating are super. BUY this car!

I bought this car used (w/21,000 miles) and paid almost the full retail of what a new 2005 goes for. Nevertheless, I'm completely satisfied with this Civic EX Coupe. The color (Satin Silver), the styling (the headlamps, taillamps, alloy wheels, sheetmetal creases on hood and down the sides), the value features for the money (cruise, 6 speaker stereo, ABS, sunroof, keyless entry) and then there's the great gas mileage! I'm average around 35mpg in mixed driving. Pickup and power are good for a car that weighs around 2600lbs. This is my second Honda (first was an '86 Accord LX-i hatchback) and hopefully this one will do 200,000 miles plus like my first one!
