Great Car for Normal People
Great car to drive around in. It is not a luxury car so there will obviously be plastic and road noise. Unlike other cars (ex. - Toyotas), it feels like you are driving a car on a road, not a friggin cloud designed for senior citizens. Mileage is great at 33 mixed, but a 5 speed auto would have been awesome. Reliability (in both hot of Mojave desert and cold of Midwest) is awesome with 80k miles with only fluids, brakes, and tires replaced at my convenience. Those of us past puberty will find the stereo good enough to pass drive time. VTEC gives good power as long as you are willing to go pedal to metal. Plan to keep to 150k
Happiest car purchase ever!!!
After a few months of shoping and 15 or so test drives I thought I would drive my teenage love the Civic SI. I barely got myself out of the dealer without taking it home. I wasn't in need of the car for another two months. So the research began, how well recieved was this impresive little car. Well the day finaly came I'm not easy to make happy and every time I get the chance I want to drive it. I can't imagine what else I could want from it

2004 HONDA CIVIC EX COUPE
I can't say enough good things about this car. It makes me wanna drive!! It's roomy, quiet and has an overall quality feel about it that I just didn't see/feel in the car's competitors. It handles well and the ride for a small car is very smooth. It's also quiet so you get a chance to enjoy the stereo. Overall I love this car!!!
Love my car
I love my car, it's so reliable. I know now why there are tons of parents getting them for their kids. It's my first new car, so i pay my insurance, and gas, and it's great. Even w/the gas prices going up, it doesn't faze me, my car is so good w/gas that i fuel up maybe once every two weeks or once a week when i'm really driving around. Ever since i got my Honda there are two words that i love to say w/my friends "Road Trip" and that means Las Vegas or where ever we want to go. By the way the trunk space is amazing you can fit 3 bodies in there!
Great car
I recently bought an 04 Civic LX coupe and I am very pleased with it so far. I bought the car at Honda of Hollywood, where the staff were friendly and helpful -- the bargaining was hard but fair, and I came away with a great deal. The Civic is one of the great cars of our time!
love it
What a car I love the sporty look of it and the confidence of knowing I can sell it for more than what I owe
over the top
This one snuck up on me. Purchased for basic hi-mpg go-to-work transportation; found instead a personal coupe I really love. Made commuting the best part of the workday (really). A very well balanced, fun-to-drive car.
Personal experience
This vehicle has surpassed all my expectations, drove it from OH to COlorada last summer in Temps over 100 4 adults and averaged 48 MPG. Getting better than 50 mpg around OH. Corners great, and accelaration is good when needed. Excellent leg room for four adults. CVT transmission is great, never feel any shifting.
Fun to drive!
I bought the Civic Si after also looking at the Nissan SPEC V and the Mazda3. I can't really pinpoint the exact reason I chose the Honda, it just felt better. I've had the car for two weeks now and it is running great. I'm not seeing the fuel economy yet but that will come in time. The only blip I've found so far is that the visor on the passenger side vibrates and is noisy at around 45+ mph. The factory stereo leaves A LOT to be desired.
love civic
I love this car!
Give us a Type R
This is my third SI and they just keep getting better. $4000 is a little pricey for the HFP package but what can you do?
GREAT CAR
I have no regrets...
80
I love my car. It's cute Great on gas and for being a small car it still has lots of room.Love the new colors they come in. Mine is the new lite blue. I just love driving It!!!
Comment of Canadian Acure EL equivalent
In Canada, Honda markets a very high ned Civic called the Acura EL. This is like the EX model sold in the U.S.A. with 4-wheel disk breaks and side air bags. It is a good car, trouble free, fun to drive and economical. The only downside is soem dumbing down in amenities. My last car, an '86 Accord, had subjectively higher build quality touches like dooe bottom-mounted door- opening lights, better fitted carpeting in the trunck, object-holding compartments on the dash and more real fabric on the doors.
Value
Great value for the money. Bought this car for my college bound daughter and I enjoy driving it more than her. Fun to drive, great handleing, great gas mileage. Test drove a Chevy Cavalier and was not impressed even with $5500 off price. Being 6'4" the honda has room to spare not so with the cavalier.
STILL Love this car!
I bought this car a year ago and have put 24000 miles on it, mixed city/highway. It is STILL a lot of fun to drive and I'm still getting 24- 28 city, 32-35 highway. It loves to run at high rpm and because of that, commuting is no big deal - I can stay in 3rd gear from 10 mph to 55 mph and clutch foot doesn't have to get tired. Lots of zip (you do have to know what gear to be in!), still love running up through the gears.
Hybrid Rules!
I love this car! It's sporty, saves a lot on gas, and is fun to drive. My other vehicle is a Durango so I refer to the Civic as the "Anti-Durango". I have driven the Hybrid over 15,000 miles in 10 months. I feel comfortable in this car.
Great first car!
This is my first car, and it is a joy to own- It's my baby!
Nice Nice base Honda!!!
Hello, Well I stopped in and peaked at a 2004 honda civic dx sedan I saw on a local website, they had me test drive it suprised me a ton! then they gave me 2500 dollars for my 1996 grand am gt with 62k on it. so bam i got this little economical safe fuel efficient, car that i can customize lightly and cheaply!!!
Great Car
SO FAR I'VE PUT 6300 MILES ON MY HCH AND NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING SO FAR. MY DRIVE TO WORK IS 25 MILES ONE-WAY WITH A COMBINATION OF HIGHWAY AND CITY DRIVING. I'M AVERAGING ABOUT 46 MPG WITH ABOUT A 2 MPG DROP USING THE AC. HONDA'S QUALITY AND REALIABILITY IS UNMATCHED!
BUY IT!
Without a doubt...this is one of the best vehicles we have owned. I only wish more models were available to choose from. The mileage is great, but the surprising aspect is that id drives like any other vehicle in the city and on the Interstate. After owning a hybrid, we will not own a non-hybrid vehicle again.
Good deal to be had.
Find this baby for under 13k and you have a good deal. Great milage, lots of pep. Kind of plain on the body with sporty rear lights and interior. I'll put 250-300k on this one. It's a commute car for me. And I will probably let my daughter drive it in about three years.
The two door coupe
Excellent ride and handling. Very good acceleration. Rear seating OK for kids, but cramped for adults.
I love this car
I'm very picking about cars, and there is a reason I'll only own a Honda. The Si is a great car, awesome to drive, and the shifter is the perfect place. Once you drive this car, you'll buy it. I give it two thumbs up all around!
OUR HYBRID
EXCELLENT, GREAT VEHICLE WITH WONDERFUL AGILITY AND GREAT RESPONSE. BUY ANOTHER IN A HEARTBEAT!!! WE HAVE TAKEN THIS ONE INTO THE SNOW AND INTO THE WORST HEAT OF THE DESERT AND THE PERFORMANCE IS AMAZING. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE!!! GBF AND MLJT
great car
I just got a 2004 honda civic it so cool and cute and great to drive. I have had other cars but honda by far the best!! Great work Honda
A SOLID vehicle with surprising quality
I've owned the Si for a year now, and its been a great ride. I love the car more now than when purchased it. Build quality is unbelievablet; interior quality is phenomenal(still not a SINGLE rattle!), and the exterior body panels fit so tightly that they are near seamless. The suspension and handling show their European origin (Si's are built in England). The stiff suspension, tight steering and solid chassis make for a remarkably stable ride. The hatch is very useful, and the interior is roomy. The car may appear funky in pictures, but its great in person. Sure, it's not a bling-bling, super sexy, gimmicky car... but it IS a great car. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
why would you drive anything else?
Best car I have ever owned. Does everything I want it to. I sell ins and it is a joy to work out of. My car makes my job much easier.
2004 Civic LX Sedan BEST CHOICE EVER
I am a soon-to-be college graduate that is serious about quality and style. I just traded in my 99 Nissan Altima for a 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan and I LOVE IT. I cannot stress what a good value this car is. The body style is very European and the inside will remind you of a pricer Volkswagen Jetta! I recommend this car to anyone that is serious about style and value!
Drives like a regular car!
I wanted the fuel efficiency, but being a tall guy I felt too cramped in the smaller Hybrid cars. This one feels great and gets fantastic mileage in the city as well as on the highway! I can't believe that it drives like a regular car and accelerates as fast as my last truck.
My O4 Civic Ex!
I love it! Honda has proven once again to make a car that is fun to drive and very reliable. This is my second Civic Ex and I couldn't ask for anything better.
I rarely have to buy gas.
I bought the hybrid to increase gas mileage. In addition, the Civic Hybrid is the most luxurious car I have owned. The basic price includes all of the items one usually pays extra for. It is perfect. The car easily stops on ice and snow. I get about 51 miles/gallon, or nearly 600 miles per tank (standard transmission. Have gas prices gone up?
honda
its a good car
Civic Hybrid takes the lead
If you want transportation that is economical, reliable and enjoyable, the Civic Hybrid is the car to have. No frills, nothing special, except great mileage and performance that gets the job done
i'm happy
This is a great great car, but a big adjustment from the 1995 Nissan Quest I had been driving. I just took it down to NC from MD and it performed very nicely. Only problem I have had is that I have been tabulating mileage and only got 26 mpg city at one point. I got 37 on a tank when i was driving completely on the highway the entire time. Not sure if honda is lying to me. Have to agree with a previous comment that this car does not have much power. My sister has a 94 accord and this drives just like it.
my civic
Great first car but also a good family car. Good gas mileage, with great reliability and resale value.
Excellent Car, just not for long trip
It's really smooth. It got all the horsepower/torque I need. Really great fuel efficiency (so far, I have 42.3 MPG.) The engine is usually quiet. Especially during stops, when the engine is off. But the engine is really loud on the highway. I can't hear the music (CD/Radio) when I am on the Highway. I was surprised by the fan staying on after I turn off the vehicle. I assume the fan is used to cool off the engine. During long trip (4 hours +), one can feel that the seat cushioning is not very good.
hot hatch
Not a bad car, no longer a top nae in the sport compact markt, needs mre power to compete with similarly priced dodge srt-4, and svt focus
Third Ones a Charm
This is my third honda. First bought a 94 hatchback, traded it in for a 98 CRV. I kept the CRV for weekends and bought an 2004 LX for the everyday commute. We wanted a sedan for better gas milage and went with the LX since it has all of the features we were used to with the CRV LX. Has the same light ride as the CRV but hugs the road better. I was surprised at the 15 inch wheels! Makes it look sportier. The lines remind you of a 3-series BMW. I love the new Magnesium Metallic color. First tank got us 30 to the gallon. I'm glad they got rid of the the center lap belt. Internet sales helped us get it $500 below invoice.
I love passing gas stations!
Since I drive 1000+ miles per week for my job, I bought the Hybrid to give my beloved Xterra a break....as well as to improve my gas mileage from 15 to 50 mpg. Though I still love my Nissan, the Hybrid has been everything that I expected and more. In order to keep it at optimum fuel efficiency, I've noticed that I need to check the tire pressure and adjust regularly.
Awesome Car for $12500
I got to say what a great little car for the money. You can't go wrong here with the Honda Civic VP, 5 speed. I guess for a 24 year old that car suites me quite nicely. I love the gas milage, the design of the vehicle, and the overall build quality of this vehicle. This is a basic car from point A to B, with nothing but A/C and a AM/FM CD Player. Car rides and drives great! MY GF loves the car! I sold the 2000 Tahoe I had due to the gas prices. I was spending almost a $100 a week in gas for the Tahoe, where as now I only spend about $30.00. This is a perfect car for a young adult, or someone young at heart
It's a Honda
This is an exceptional automobile. Honda has always been a dependable car. It has great handling and lots of take off power for a four cylinder car. 50000 miles and still not a problem with it at all. remember routine maintaince is important to a long live of the honda.
Great first car
I have had nothing but good ties with this car. This is my first new car. I chose Honda becasue my dad always had great luck with them. This is a great car. It has a great new look, more room than previous models, and it handles amazingly. I highly recommend checking one out. You will have a hard time leaving the dealership!
Repeat Honda Owner
I am a repeat Civic owner, having had a 89 CRX, 92 Acura Integra LS, 95 Civic Coupe EX. Seven trouble free years later needed a new car. I was blown away with the improvements in the Civic. I test drove the Accord Coupe to move upmarket. However I didnt feel there is a big exists anymore. I found the Civic had the best combination of sportiness, clean design, and comfort and most important value in this segment.
LOVE IT
i love my si its great
MPG and Styling
I have had the car since 12/03 and am averaging 36.3 mpg per tank. I see that many of you tell of your 40+ MPG tanks and I am wondering why mine is not performing anywhere near that. What's the deal??? Any suggestions? As for the styling, I wanted the dealer to install fog lights and a rear deck spoiler (as offered as an option in the non-hybrid Civics) but they could not do it per instruction from Honda. I purchased the spoiler myself from the dealership and installed it myself - and it looks GREAT! I will soon be looking for other Honda wheels to replace the standard wheels.
Nice Car in the Mt.
I love the car I ran it to Western PA and it handled like a dream in the Mountains.
Honda Civic
I absoulutly love it the gas mileage is awesome I can fill it up with 18 dollars and it will last me 2 weeks the interior is very nice and its very fun to drive I really like the face gauges they light up blue at night its pretty cool looking only bad thing is the insurence skyrockets when you get one but a honda will last you a lifetime
Great gas Econ!... 44, not 48MPG
It's manuf. rated at 48, but I'm getting 44. I driver mostly on the Freeway, in Los Angeles, mostly low- peak hours, averaging 65 Miles Per hour, and getting 44MPG. Still, it uses Regular Gas, rather than my old Super Unleaded that got 21MPG... Better than 50% savings!
Boy do I love this car
I absolutely love this car. I think it's so fun to drive and I love how safe I feel in it. I also loved my buying experience. My salesperson was very knowledgeable (it's his job DUH) but he was also very personable which highly shocked me. I was in and out of the dealership not really but the time just flew by cause the guy was so nice and I felt really involved. I'm just LOVING my FIRST Honda
