I bought the car new, it had 24 miles on it. Now it has 75,000 miles. I have made changes to the car. All with the intent for better gas mileage. Stock I was getting 33 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph. After dual exhaust, K&N air intake, summer tires, and it's not manual (automatic trans.); I now get 51 mpg on the interstate at 75-79 mph. Seriously basically stock 1.7L with an automatic stock trans. and 89 octane pump gas, I get 50 mpg. The city drive takes a toll on the gas mileage, due to the trans., I still get anywhere from 38 to 43mpg in the city. It is definitely not a racer, but it is what I paid for. I would like to have a little more power, but saving the gas money is great.

I've had the vehicle for a little over a year. Out of most of my friends, I'm the only one with a fuel efficient vehicle and I see how much more money they spend of gas, I can usually fill up for about thirty dollars when it takes them sixty to seventy dollars to fill up. Anyway, it's a great car. I think the interior is designed quite well and is also comfortable. Like I said, its a very good investment, especially if you're looking for a more fuel efficient car.

Best Car I've Owned

I love the Civic. Best car I've owned so far with the exceptional gas mileage. Wish Honda could have put a bigger engine or came out with a V6 model for the EX and with a little more standard features. All in all a very great car that will probably last forever.

This car is a great car from Honda. I have owned two civic coupes and both have been great. The coupe I have now is manual, and suggest folks to get the manual if you like stick and sporty fun. Gas mileage is great also. Overall, a great car for any age. Performance and economy all in one.

I had a Civic LX with 290,000 and loved it. Then I thought, I like the stronger engine and moon roof on the EX. So, I got the 2004 EX. One thing, watch and care with the exterior. But, really as with any car, the exterior is what it is. It has been a durable, reliable car. It still has the "Honda engine purrrr" at 172,000 miles. I love it. Now, it's the most stolen small car in America, so I keep it locked!

I love my Civic Hybrid

My hybrid is fun to drive, gets great gas mileage, and has all the comforts of a Honda Civic EX. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking a comfortable sedan, with excellent pickup and is good for the environment. Don't forget, you get a $2,000 cash back from the IRS for the first year you own the vehicle. Also, if you live in Virginia, you can ride the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes with no additional passengers until July 2006. It makes getting to work a breeze.

Gas mileage way below expected

This car is advertised at 47/48 mpg. I have had the car for 9 months now and have 8,000 miles on it, and still only get 39 mpg. I am very very disappointed in this performance. The dealer says it's because there are lots of hills in this area and I drive it too fast. I think the advertised mpg should NOT be based on performance on flat terrain at slow speeds. So I am not at all happy with the car's performance in this area.

Great ride and fun to drive! Only complaint is that the gas tank filler cover won't open! You are supposed to open it by pushing down on the lever (or button) but it doesn't open. We'll have to have that checked out.

Having a civic hybrid has changed my lifestyle. I spend less time at the gas station and more time enjoying the drive not thinking about how much it is costing me to get there! I sold a three year old mini van and have never regreted it! I've more than doubled the gas mileage and enjoy driving much more. Knowing that I'm helping the environment instead of hurting it is the best part with the low emissions. I wish the rest of the world would see the light.

Bought my 04 Honda Civic EX yesterday in Nighthawk Black and it is to die for. They had one with leather but I left it there and got cloth instead. First civic I had seen with leather. I love the way it looks in black and I love that the Alloy wheels are standard on the EX! Cute little car for the price but beware the option lady who will visit you and all the options look wonderful but the price's aren't. (6 disc in-dash changer)!

Solid Economy Car

Decided to try a Honda sedan after racking up over 235,000 miles on my 1993 Toyota pickup. Based on past performance and reliability, this looked like the perfect runner. I was not disappointed as the 1.7 is peppy when combined with the 5-speed--and gets about 30 mpg around town. All controls are easy to reach. Dash lights are great since you can adjust independently with and without the headlights on. Stereo is of excellent quality. Fold down seats are a bonus when extra room is needed for cargo. Suspension is solid and surprising-- doesn't feel like a typical subcompact. Front seats are slightly cramped but not uncomfortable. Seats have good support for long drives.

My Si has has a supercharger, headers, cold air intake and catback exhaust. It makes about 210ish HP and 150ish torque. Its have plenty of speed and a lot of fun to drive. I still maintain 20-23 local and 25-30 highway. I don't like the stock body much but it looks sharp with the HFP package

We have had our Honda Civic Hybrid since August 2002 and have not had a moment's regret about buying it. We admit to feeling a bit superior these days as we pass many high-priced gas stations without needing to stop!

this miracle of creation is great. Superb gas mileage, stealthy silent ride both in traffic and at stops. Silky smooth transmission. Great sound system, good performace and great acceleration for a small low horse power car. The quality of the car is A+ and everyone knows Honda's make superior cars. Most mechanics have told me they make the best transmissions unlike most GM and american cars.

Spunky and sporty, and though lacking a "V8", the 5-on-the-floor work ideally for this 4 cylinder. Pressing 40 highway MPG, and about 35 city with emphasis on getting into 5th gear as soon as I hit about 35mph. Very smooth at all speeds. I don't mind having to manually roll down the windows ! Noise level better-than-average. Paid about 13,250 OTD. Very capable CD/AM/FM radio standard - seems there is some slightly noticeable reception fading which may be antenna or reception caused (I DO NOT live in a remote area). Most people wouldn't notice it. I'm upgrading to an Alpine CDA-9820XM. Too new to rate reliability

I work out of my car putting about 60 miles per day all in-town driving. The 42 miles per gallon is wonderful. The car rides well, over all the Fort Worth potholes, enough power to get on the freeway when I need it, and plenty of room.

I bought this car brand new off the lot. Lots of modifications done to it. If your settings are right, this car can overtake idiots on the roads around corners. I had modified the suspension to give it superior handling, way better than stock, readjust the throttle cable, replace the intake and headers to give it a more smooth flow, lighten it, added kits for aerodynamic stability at high speeds and this is no stock vehicle. With all of my experimentation had me driving just about 470 miles with half a gallon of gas left in the tank. Less weight = quicker acceleration = less fuel usage.
