Good Basic Car
Got the ex w/ side airbags for 500 below invoice plus my trade-in. Its a good car, and seems really solid. I'm happy with my purchase.
kansas city rock hopper
The front struts on this car went out with in 5000 miles. Dealer advise-- "you will be paying for them soon enough your self" A/C system not adequate on a hot day. FM/AM have different sound levels. Oil filter hard to get to. AT transmission down shifts too fast when cruse control is on. Sun roof rattles. Paint job is flakey and weak. Sheet metal dents if you look at it sideways.

A Superior Car
This is my first car. Hands down, no contest, this is the best economy car you can get out there. It saves you money with the great gas mileage and maintenance costs. Plus there's the great resale value. The build quality is great. I have the blue ex couple and am very happy with my purchase. Have had the car exactly a year now. Just lacks that all out power, but it does have enough though.
Not quite a Acura CRX
I wanted something a bit sportier, but this car was a great compromise between styling and affordability. It gets great gas millage (EPA ratings are right on target), handles well, and has enough power to get over hills without a fuss. Don't get in an accident with this vehicle though, because although it does a good job keeping you safe, the damage to the vehicle is going to be expensive. Many of the parts cannot be easily repaired and need to be replaced (bumpers, shock absorbers, etc.)
update
Well, I posted a review back in May of 2002. To update, the car STILL has not had any problems. Yes, the road noise is still there, and the rattles and creaks are there. But reliabilty and gas milleage has been very good. On all highway, I have gotten anywhere from 39- 41MPG. But back in the city, it's been hovering around 33MPG. Over this time, I have gone on numerous trips, and drive everywhere and I still enjoy driving it!
02 Civic coupe 5speed
I bought this car right when I got my license, and I love it. I have a low paying job and that really helps me because I only fill my tank once every 3 weeks. The engine is pretty weak, and with my 5 speed I really have to rev it pretty hard to get up to highway speed. It is fun to drive, pretty nimble with good handling. The stock speaker system isn't all that bad either. I think it was a perfect first car for me.
Basic economic "sport" coupe
This car is great for everyday driving. It gets great gas milage and is even a little fun to drive. It is a very reliable car and is put together very well. Interior design could use a little help as far as functionability. The radio/CD player is mounted far too high and angled upward. This is bad for anyone under 6' 4" tall. On sunny days you can't even read the display without leaning forward and craning your head up and looking down on it. This is of course not good when driving down the road. I knocked the rating on Interior Design hard for this because in this day and age, the stereo is a highly used item in everyone's vehicle.
Honda's May Last Forever, But...
I don't know what Honda was thinking when they designed the interior of the Honda Civic. They may run forever, but what is the point if you hate driving it? I have had to replace my stereo twice, my vents vibrate up and down as I drive, when the vents are set to come out at the floor only, I have to shut the rest of my vents to get all the air to come out only at the floor, and now when I push the button to turn on my rear defrost, my radio stations go fuzzy. Not only that, but what brilliant engineer thought that putting cupholders on the other side of the shifter would be a good idea? And what is the point of having an armrest that interferes with the driver's ability to shift?
Good Car
This is a great little car. Gets great gas mileage and and keep up in traffic. And Civics have a reputaion of being very reliable. I do wish that it had a little more power and handled a little better in the turns but this car is not a sports car. I just sometimes wish it were. I would have gotten an RSX if i could afford it at the time because I want a little more performance out of my daily commute
Great car!
I absolutely love my Civic EX Sedan. I have not had any problems with it at all. I added the spoiler when I bought it, and it gives it a more sporty look. This is the second Civic that I have owned, and I can tell that my experience will be another great one!
