Used 2002 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
Reliable
Have about 200,000 miles on mine with extremely little maintanance. Ac went out a few years back. Other than that it's just been normal small repairs. The car isn't made to hotrod. It's made for reliability and fuel mileage. As long as you don't let the engine overheat you should have no problems with the head gasket. 5 stars

It's a Honda!!!!
I have had this car 8 months now. I commute about 100 miles a day & this thing cannot be beat. Fast, fun sporty. I still average 32 mpg, important especially now with gas at $4 a gallon. I have put 16K on in 10 months. I expect it to last me to 250K miles, as long as you perform proper maintenance. I have done a few small upgrades & am seeing even better mpg sometimes, no need to buy a new Honda. But will buy another again. Thanks Honda for doing what you do best, building some of the best cars in the world.

Great lil' car! but... got tires?
Ok, so maybe it's a little premature to write a review on my car already. I just purchase a new 2002 Civic Si about a week and a half ago.So far I've been very pleased with my purchase. The car in Si form is quite eye catching.. especially my color (euro yellow). The interior doesn't bore me at all, especially the shifter position (which all my friends find quite exciting). The gas milease seems to be getting a little better now. The first tank sucked. Overall it is a very fun, compact, daily driver.
2002 Si 1700 miles
From the time I drove it off the lot this car has been a blast to drive. It is my first car and I am very happy with it. Some people think the exterior looks odd, but the looks grow on you. Everyone loves the inside and the shifter never fails to be noticed. I haven't seen any others around where I live in MA, but I enjoy driving a unique car.
Loud noise, when water splases exhaust
Does anyone else have this problem with the 2002, Honda Civic EX, 4dr, 5 speed Man. When driving through puddles the water splashes on the exhaust and has a loud noise, the noise you would here if a car had no exhaust. As it dries, 30 seconds, it goes away. Honda knows of this issue and calls it a "charateristic of the car". I was told by the dealership, after they replaced a strut and the problem still was there. Today, Aug 5, I contacted Majestic Honda,W. Wariwick, RI. (I purchased the car from their Lincoln , RI dealership) and asked to speak with the the owner. I will receive a callback from the owner.
