Stunning in Elegance and Efficiency
After owning the 2020 hybrid Touring for 1,000 miles it is much better than I expected even after the test drive. It is eerily quiet in battery mode and if you work the system it can get amazingly good mpg. The response and dynamics are amazing compliant and smooth, the best of Honda. The only noise you hear are the muted road noise, which is only noticeable at high speeds or on rough roads, and the occasional engine rev under hard acceleration or going up a hill. But even then the engine is muffled and the rest of the time you can't hardly tell its on. When you get the battery half charged or more and have a flat or slight down incline, force it into EV mode and its quiet smooth sailing for awhile, and the mpg skyrockets. On the highway you can only get what your speed and road conditions allow, typically 40-48 mpg. But as impossible as it seems, if you drive very relaxed and work the regen brakes, and maximize the use of the battery, you can get anywhere from 45 to 60 mpg on short trips going 30-60 mph! The tech is considerable and still learning to seems to be very slick and more than you first expect. The safety systems are amazing. My '17 civic has some slight annoyances such as slight wind noise from side mirror, vibration in dash and vibration from subwoofer. But I have noticed NONE of these problems with this Accord. My dad has a MB E350 and it really rivals that, even quieter in some ways but noisier on rough road, however, this does feel like a $60k German car. And its actually very large. I'm 6'1" and can set the front seats where I want them and still have 3 inches in front of my knees in the back. I also happen to love the interior and exterior style. I honestly don't understand why everyone wouldn't want to own one. I am hopeful to get 10-15 years of luxury and low-cost usage, knowing this will probably take us well into the age of all electric vehicles.

Too many issues
I was excited when I received the car new 2 1/2 years ago, but that has come to an end with the endless recalls and other issues. Now I have anxiety every time I turn on the car what is wrong this time and do I have to pay for repairs. The recalls included new DC/DC module, new tank, software updates for safety functions like brakes, warranty extension for a pending issue with the A/C which I have now, yet another repair. This is the first car I had a rodent issue with, cable harnesses were chewed through, was reading it was because of plant based materials used in it. The dealer wanted $4,000 (yes) to repair it, fortunately I have comprehensive and had to pay only the deductible. However, the adjuster reduced the repair bill to $3000. So the Honda dealer was going to over charge me 33%, that's insane. This is why I have now anxiety every time I get into the car. I never had that many issues with any of my many other cars before. I think I am going to sell it and buy a different brand, so disappointed with Honda!

How to Gauge Your MPG in an Accord Hybrid
The Accord Hybrid is one of the best cars you can buy, in my opinion. In fact I love the car so much I've bought three of them over the past few years and still own two currently, one 2018 EX and a 2020 EX-L. The car is well appointed at the EX-L level with a high-end stereo, leather, memory seats, Homelink system. From my point of view, the Touring doesn't offer anything compelling over the EX-L that makes it worth $3000 more. Mileage The biggest controversy with Accord Hybrids is disputed mileage results for different drivers. The 2017 I owned for three years would average 53 in the summer and 45 mpg in the winter months. The 2017 was of slightly smaller dimensions that probably explains the better average mileage. The 2018 gets worse mileage at around 41-44 mpg while the 2020 is averaging 47 for the first 1000 miles. I am basing these on econ mode and results from the same driver (me). Different drivers tend to have very different driving habits and can affect mpg results widely. The fact that a 2018 and 2020 Accord Hybrid tend to have a swing of 5 mpg with the same driver is odd. They both have the same mechanics under the hood. No one in the online forums has been able to explain different mpg results from the stated 47 EPA average other than pointing to different drivers' habits that can affect mpg. Another major factor in mileage results is start/stop versus cruising mpg. If your drives tend to be short trips of 1-10 miles in a mostly urban environment with traffic stops you likely won't top 40 mpg. If you have 5-20 mile trips over roads with non-stop cruising between 35-60 mph with few stops, your mileage will top 45 or possibly 50 mpg. This car gets the best mpg at around 50 mph with few stops in temperate weather of 50-70 degrees. On the freeway, when you go between 60-80 your mileage will be 40-45 mpg tops due to the gas engine running continuously to generate enough power to keep at speed. During the winter, cold weather directly impacts mpg and the hybrid will get no better than 45 mpg and possibly less than 40 mpg. Hybrid engine noise Another common complaint is the engine grind when you accelerate from a stop to get up to speed quickly. While the grind is unpleasant, if you don't floor the engine it's not that noticeable. This car's drivetrain is very peppy and you likely will never need to floor it to reach desired speed in about 10 seconds. Technically the hybrid has 212 hp, but rarely are the conditions right for that much hp and torque to be available. I won't take time to explain it here, but many car reviews online can explain why the hybrid's 212 hp isn't like a gas engine only horsepower. You should go for the 2.0 liter engine on the Sport or Touring models if you need most power. Drive The drive of the Accord is fantastic. It feels very sporty and is a true "driver's car". I enjoy driving it every time I go out, even for short trips. The car hugs the road and feels very responsive for acceleration, turns, and braking. The brakes, however, are far from best in class. The brakes do regenerate the lithium battery during stops. The back seat is very roomy for a sedan. There is no USB connectivity in the 2020 model, so go for the 2021 if you have passengers in the back who need power charging for phones. Trunk The trunk is very spacious and there is no lost space due to the hybrid battery. the only sacrifice of the hybrid model is loss of a spare tire to reduce weight. Only a fix a flat kit is offered. Value While gas is under $3 a gallon you won't save a ton of money unless you drive 15,000 miles a year or more. I would still recommend it for the gas savings and longer driving range between fill-ups (500 miles on average). The EX-L is around 30-31K and seems like a great value for all the features and accessories included. If you don't need leather, a self-dimming mirror and Homelink features, the EX has all the essential features you're likely to want, like Apple Play/Android Auto and heated seats. Overall, this car is great and there are some very nice refresh features for 2021. The 2020, though, is still great without the cosmetic and feature updates. Highly recommended. Update: Traded in 2020 Accord in March 20243 for a 2023 Accord. Somewhat regretful at selling this car but I wanted to try the newest design. Love the 2023 design and have review of it on this site.

Major upgrades from Honda
I gave up a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L Nav for this edition and have not been let down. I love the upgrades and improvements Honda has made over the last few years. From the Honda Sensing to safety features added I have really enjoyed the time driving and look forward to the miles on the road. Very smooth and comfortable ride. Would definitely recommend to anyone searching for a new car. I would suggest driving what you want first and then come to the Accord and feel the difference.

Sporty, roomy, and very economical!
Our new 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid. has vert sleek, modern, sporty looks. Plenty of room in both the front seats and back, plus a very large trunk. Reports suggest it gets nearly 50 MPG city and highway. That is awesome fuel economy, in my eyes. The Touring trim level has all the bells and whistles, including remote start, heads up display, lane keeping assistance, Apple/Android Car Play. Too many to name and many that I have not discovered yet. The Hybrid does emit a pleasant humming noise when in all electric mode. I have been told that this noise is to assist people who are blind to hear the car while it is otherwise quietly approaching them, for safety purposes. I was dead set against getting another silver colored car but the Lunar Silver has a bit darker and slightly bluer aspect to it than on most silver cars . I find it a much more pleasant and appealing shade of silver. I have only owned this car for about 10 days but absolutely love it, to this point. I plan on keeping it a long, long time.

Way better than 2018 Touring 1.5T CVT.
Smooth, quiet, firm, and comfort ride all time. Car produces decent power but slightly better than 1.5T gasoline powered engine. Rated as the Ultimate Accord ever since.

Exceeds expectations
I never envisioned driving an Accord but the fuel efficiency and the styling were too much to ignore. Since purchase I have continued to be surprised. The interior is comfortable and quiet on the road. The details of the instruments and tech are surprising at this price point. Excellent mileage for my everyday driving, but some jump when I want it. A much better overall package than other hybrids I've owned in the past (I'm talking to you Toyota).

Hybrid with pep!
This car has stylish, sports car looks, and has the engine power and peppy pick up to match. BUT it is a hybrid, which means I can pass the gas station many times without having to pull in. Love the handling and cabin comfort, as well. This car steers extremely easily and is a pleasure to drive, but does have a larger turning radius than would be expected.....only an issue when trying to turn around as with a U-turn. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the driving and ownership experience with this car.

It's super quiet and very comfortable. I'm well over two hundred miles on a quarter tank of gas.
Compromise
every thing is a compromise! 2020 accord touring hybrid is no different. comfortable seats all around. Excellent cockpit. Quiet. Powerful enough for general use, passing and interstate travel. MPG between 45 and 53 depending on weather, mountains, head winds etc. wish it had a cd player and a selection for Pandora radio (can be achieved by selecting Pandora on I-phone and the pluging in. Then select I phone as source. Cumbersome.) Other than that great car.

Classy, sporty little package! Nice!
The Honda Accord Hybrid Touring has lived up to everything that I researched prior to purchase. Clearly, the smoothest, quietest drive with ease of transition from one driving mode to another. I understand why it has been called one of the (should be THE) safest vehicles on the road. On the highway home, a car pulled from the side in front of me. The Honda sent out a chorus of alarms that engaged my reaction to avoid an accident. ...made it home safe, and enjoying the compliments on my new Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. This is a great car!

Love it! Exceeded my expectations in every way.
Had a Toyota Corolla previously. This is literally an upgrade in every sense. Except for (perhaps) turn radius and ease of parking (as this is a bigger car). While I do wish I could have gotten the EX-L with cloth instead of leather/vinyl, it is still very nice. But overall, it has fantastic pickup, high gas-mileage, looks tough, is classy, has every bell & whistle you could want, etc. My only other complaint beside not being able to choose cloth seats, is that EXTREMELY limited color choice. The fact that the only real color was red is severely disappointing... The normal obscenely boring color choices of white, silver, gray, black really made me question getting this or maybe a Camry instead. But in the end, the gas mileage, slightly larger engine (2.0L) and look of the car won me over.

Nice!
Great car with all the bells and whistles. Gas mileage is averaging over 50mpg.
Mediocre
At 38,000 miles the driver seat springs are going bad. Automated braking system has issues. Honda no longer includes spare tire, jack, or wrench. I am a full time Uber driver. If you breakdown where there’s no signal, you won’t be able to call a tow truck to replace your tire. Aesthetically, the car is beautiful, but that’s all it is...Very disappointed! Won’t buy Honda next time.
Fuel mileage not even close to EPA rating
After driving several hundred miles I took it in for service to see why the fuel mileage was so low. Honda service stated no error codes were showing. Nevertheless, road mileage should be about 47 mpg. Even though I drive like I was 95 years old (I am a lot younger), the best on road mileage obtained is 38.

Luxurious at $30K
I trade in my 2017 Accord Touring hybrid last month with 2020 Accord Touring hybrid. * First, I did study how to get a deal about this car. (Thank you Truecar.com - MSRP was $37K, I paid out the door for $30,250 through Darcar Honda of Bowie in Maryland) * I have been driving Honda since 1999, the main reason is very low maintenance, saving lots of money. *this 2020 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid is phenomenal; very smooth, roomy and absolutely fun to drive. I have 3 boys (between 11-14), and they said the car is absolutely roomier compared to the 2017 Accord Touring hybrid. Honda is not just the name, it's quality and comfort without being ripped off.
Great gas mileage
this car gets great gas mileage. I got 50+ mpg.

Honda Tech Glitches - Old Tech, New Car
Honda, talk to Apple. Apple, talk to Honda. Work it out. Honda’s Qi charger doesn’t work with iPhone 12+ even though this car is a year newer. My phone won’t pair with Apple Carplay either, an extreme bummer when tech doesn’t work. The car itself is well under the 48 MPG promised and I suddenly have buyer remorse for trading in my Prius for it.

Great start...now really lousy
I purchased the ACCORD HYBRID TOURING edition. The "top of the line" HYBRID model available from Honda at the time. I paid a premium for the car due to availability issues, but I thought it would be worth the additional money. The car got great gas mileage-over 50 mpg- for the first 12,000 miles in the ECON mode. Since that point (12,000 miles) the MPG has plummeted to mostly below 40 MPG. This is the best it has done recently. The "normal" mode gets a little better than 40 MPG (42 at times), but the ECON mode fails to achieve 40 MPG. The dealer cannot figure out the problem and has tried to lay it off on weather and driving habits. I drive 110 highway miles per day back and forth to work and the car is rarely used other than that. I believe there is an issue with the HYBRID battery or the ECON software is not performing properly. I spoke with a national HONDA call center and they told me there was nothing they could do. This is the first HONDA I have owned and was encouraged to buy it and now I am very disappointed in the car, the service department, HONDA corporate. I would not buy this car again. Giving it one star only because it started out great, went down hill and the company doesn't seem to want to pursue an answer.

Great Car
I really like the exterior and interior look of this car. Some people prefer the Camry better but I like the sleek and simple design. It reminds me of the inside of the Tesla’s interior. My only complaints are of course the gas mileage is not as advertised. Which none of the hybrids ever are and the seats are best for more than a 30min commute.

Still loving my 2020 Honda Accord Hyprid EX
Gas mileage keeps improving and I’m still loving the car. I’m retired so I put fewer miles on the car than I would have when I was working. The car is a luxurious drive and quite spacious. I've had to take an emergency road trip a few days after my purchase; I've driven nearly 2000 miles in my second week of ownership and I'm very pleased with the performance and features available on my car. So far gas mileage has hovered around 39 mpg on highway. My Accord Hybrid is a far superior drive to my Civic; I'm truly enjoying this vehicle.

Good drivetrain, poor ride and comfort
The car has a good dependable drivetrain, and reasonable quality and fit. The ride on anything but smooth pavement was poor. The seats did not have sufficient padding to make them comfortable for longer rides. All of the tech was just one step below the same tech on my Subaru. Overall, the car was a disappointment.

Smooth cruiser
When the sales person in-service manager actually shows you the car, make sure you have them take you out in the road and show you how the vehicle functions. I’ve had to learn quite a bit on my own.

Great car
The drive train is very well sorted. The transition from EV to engine running is imperceptible. It drives great and the seating position is comfortable. The down sides are the road noise is very loud especially on course pavement. While the seating position is great the seats are not. After a hundred miles in them i want to be anywhere else, I have found a seat cushion that really helps. The ride is not great. Good on smooth pavement but every little bump comes through. Both my 2016 Durango citadel and my 2011 Lincoln MKZ hybrid are much more comfortable on long trips. The Hondas strong point is fuel milage. I get 45 on the highway and 41 around town which is great for a car with as much room as the Honda. We like it warts and all. One other thing we have found is the Android Auto connectivity is glitchy. We have adapted to its shortcomings because of the economy of operation. The automotive writers who lavish praise on it must not get out much it is a good average car with both positives and negatives.

great for fuel efficiency, superior ride comfort, spacious leg room in front, hate the push button transmission changer, sits way too low hard to enter and exit the vehicle. Love this vehicle
Purchased the Accord Hybrid EX-L model and for an affordable price, you get the feel of a bit higher brand and a bit more luxury type feel. The spacing inside the vehicle is great, the leather seats feel good. The car runs smooth as what you expect from the Accord. No difference between hybrid and standard gas model except quieter when it switches to electric. The fuel efficiencies are partially based on how you manage the use of acceleration. If you have a lot of hills, this type of hybrid may not be for you, and the price difference between the gas and hybrid could be a consideration and how long it would take to break even. At last I saw the difference was $2k, but that varies. If average between hills and flat, I'd go for the hybrid each time. Keep in mind, you only need to do oil changes every 7,500 to 10k miles, instead of 3-5k miles. It annoys me that it doesn't come with a spare tire. However, that's the trend with hybrids and electric vehicles so you don't waste on weight. Overall, I've had it 6 months. Great car...I'd purchase all over again.

Good Driving experience and very good fuel economy
Accord Hybrid Touring: gives very comfortable and save driving experience. Fuel economy on 20 mile mixed road condition commute each way to and from work gives 42+mpg. Shorter manual driver trips on busy roads have resulted in up to 48+mpg I have an impression that mpg is temperature sensitive. I.E. Low temp =lower battery charge=lower mpg. Since batteries are known to be affected by low temps this is not a surprise Comments: Acceleration from low speed to 60+mph Very Good. ACC functions very well and makes highway driving easier but requires attention in busy and curved roads. Will update after vacation drive from St Louis to Breckenridge and back (900 miles each way) in late June 2021.

The best car I've ever owned!
The Accord Hybrid is comfortable, smooth, and quiet. It has plenty of acceleration to merge with freeway traffic, and gets over 45 MPG! This technology is a sane, reasonable step on the path to energy independence, rather than legislating electric cars that few people can afford.

my new car
love this 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid EXL. I've been driving a lot and getting about 57 mpg. It's quiet and I love the audio system.
Just got and so far, I am happy
Had an amazing 2016 Hyundai Sonata, that gave me no issues. Although there have been several technical bulletins, including one that extended the powertrain warranty, because some engines have failed suddenly, because of a manufacturing issue. Also, mine was one of those that Hyundai chose NOT to install an immobilizer. So I sold it, and purchased a used Honda Accord Hybrid with 75K miles on it. I only missed my Sonata for a week, then I got the Accord. 1) It definitely accelerates faster than my 2.5 liter ICE engine Sonata. 2) After a 220 miles roundtrip I posted a 46 mpg fuel usage. My Sonata would only get about 33mpg. That is almost a 40% increase. 3) The ride is definitely firmer, but it also handles sportily! 4) The climate and entertainment controls were intuitive, with no learning curve required. 5) The safety features are what I wanted and they don't disappoint. It has lane keep, automatic cruise control (work all the way down to a stop behind another car), rear cross traffic alert, it reads speed signs and it has Blind Side Monitoring.
