A Very good truck. Great for starting offroaders
I bought this truck for $3500 used and was previously fully submerged in water. ( Yeah last owner didn't take care of it very well) Only 80k miles. Had for 4 years now and runs like gold. Lift kit, new exhaust system, and redone interior has made this a great handy down. I own this truck for one year now. It was handed down to me. 4x4 works great. Love it.

Red Power Ranger
My Red Power Ranger Edge is a trip! I added a carpet bedliner, camper shell, and step bars. Although it could use a bit more power, it never lags on the I95 raceway. Best addition, engine wise, was a K&N air filter (which I also use on my 95 Ranger and motorcycle). I have no major problems and would buy another Ranger.

Satisfied Owner
Purchased used with 7500 mi in 2003 for $7000. Ride is harsh and some bumps will cause the rear end to jump. However, I am extremely please with the gas mileage that has increased from mid- 20's at purchase to 31 mpg at last fillup. Have owned the truck for 14 months with absolutely no maintenance problems. Very dependable -- this summer did a trip from VA to WI and back with no mechanical problems. The ranger is the best looking little truck out there. Will consider another one in the future.
Gas Mileage
This is overall a pretty good truck, a little underpowered with the 3.0L but still pretty dependable. The only shortfall is the gas mileage. Stop and go eats gas, and if going 70 on the interstate it gets about 16.5 mpg. A little more room in the cab would help, backseat for kids only. Ride is a little stiff, but put a load on it and it rides great, of course. Just a smaller version of the F-150 with a 3.0L.
Never again!
Owned this Ranger a little over 2 yrs. 76 K miles when purchased. Terrible build quality and reliability. Currently 100K miles and the transmission is shifting hard and O/D Off light is flashing. Power locks work intermittently, were fixed 1 year ago and started happening again. Wipers only complete half cycle and stop in middle of window. They were fixed a year ago and problem is happening again. Ford should be liable for putting out this kind of product. I will never buy another Ford again. Vehicle is expensive to own, 3.0 litre engine is terrible on gas (16 mpg) and extremely sluggish.
