I went to the VW dealership in my GTI to look at the new Golf R. I noticed a new GT sitting in the used lot for a few thousand less than the R. I fell in love with the looks of the car, and after spending some time driving it decided that it was for me. Why? I've never liked the design of the previous GT, but the updated exterior is one of the best designs out there right now - not a bad angle on the car. The interior is vastly improved. I actually enjoy being in the space instead of feeling like I'm compromising. The premium interior is, in my mind, the way to go. Air conditioned seats are one of mankind's greatest inventions. I found all of the electronics intuitive and mastered the system within a couple of days (I've had some cars that I never figured out after 3 years). Many cool customization features on the interior. My car came with the performance package. I also think that this is a must have. The mustang feels like a proper grand tourer. The suspension is firm but not jarring, and the steering feel is among the best I've experienced on a new car (and better than the new GTI). It is not a sports car, but it is always fun to drive. The solid handling, amazing engine note and acceleration, and the outstanding shifter and steering make for a car that I always look forward to driving. After driving it for a while, I realize that I've reached the age where driving a grand tourer makes me happier than a frantic adrenaline machine. If you haven't test driven one and don't see yourself as a Mustang type, go test drive a new 5-series and then try the Mustang - it's cheaper, better looking, better to drive, and generally mullet free.

Mustang Is A Disappointment!
I leased one of the first 2015 models of the Ford Mustang EcoBoost. For years I wanted a Mustang. Never had one, but I envied those who drove those 5.0 liter pony cars. When Ford redesigned the Mustang for 2015, I WANTED one..badly. I read the reviews about the EcoBoost and the journalists RAVED about the power and gas economy of this EcoBoost wonder. I figured who needs a V8? I went to my local dealer, traded in my car, and drove off with the new Mustang. The day after I took it off the lot, nearly everyone I came across was stunned with the design of this car. No doubt, back in late 2014, it was a stunner, even though it looked kind of like a Fusion. But shortly into driving it, I felt it was lacking. The EcoBoost drove and had power like a Ford Fiesta I once rented. It felt like it completely lacked the 310 horses Ford advertised. The EcoBoost buzzed like my 2008 Altima's CVT. Loud, obnoxious, boring. The more I drove, I discovered that the brakes were already squealing as if they were worn. The radio would not pick up very powerful local stations without static. In the cold winter months, the interior window panes and the middle of the dashboard rattled constantly. The passenger side door did not match flush with the back fender. And now I've been told that the timing cover has sprung a leak and requires a major repair by Ford. I test drove a Honda Accord Coupe V6 and the new Chevy Camaro V6. Both cars were so much more refined in interior quality and how they drove. I did not like the Camaro (felt like sitting in a black tub without windows) and the Accord was a little squirrelly on the freeway. But they were miles above the Mustang. I wanted a Mustang so badly, but I cannot wait to get out of it.

Best Bang For Your Horsepower Buck-- Nothing Else!
Bought this off the showroom floor in May 2015, drove it sparingly (as a 2nd vehicle) and sold it this past March with under 1000 miles on her. Lost about 15% from what I paid (Ford employee pricing plus $500 rebate) and basically wish I had not succumbed to the temptation of taking that vehicle off the showroom floor. I feel for the new design, the Race Red "redness", and the knowledge of all that power under the hood. I'd had several Mustangs in my past, starting with a '66 GT and always had an aversion toward them in general, at least in comparison with the Challenger, Camaro and other "sporty" coupes. Although the power and torque are definitely there in this new edition of the GT, there were a few things that bothered me. First of all, the gas mileage SUCKS--I mean I drove this in 35-45mph zones for the most part, and occasionally on the freeway in 6th gear at 70mph (1500RPMs) and averaged around 16mpg, never even hitting 20mpg on a freeway trip. I was shocked and very disappointed, especially after coming from a 2014 Dodge Charger RT AWD that routinely got 23mpg on the freeway, hitting even 26mpg on one trip, and never below 18mpg in city-only driving--much heavier car with the AWD. Go figure. Anyway, I didn't buy the GT for gas mileage. The other issue (and something I REALLY liked about the Charger and many other FCA vehicles) is the digital speedometer read out--way easier to see your speed than the conventional circular speedos, and Mustang for some reason didn't offer that option on the screen setups. Visibility was "ok" looking out the rear and rear sides (much better than the Camaro, for-sure!), but still somewhat limited. The exterior mirrors are horribly small and need to be enlarged. Rear cargo area with the seats down was ample to carry my musical gear (two keyboards, stands, two duffle bags and a large speaker). For $31,000 delivered it was close to what a Focus ST would cost and definitely in a higher class of "sports car" IMO. Finally, the worst thing for me about the Mustang is the lack of sufficient width in the front seats. The curves on each end start way too early for someone of my stature (6'1, 180lbs) and those curves would literally bend themselves into both ends of my back, obviously not resulting in much comfort. I can't imagine how I would feel after a long road trip. Would I buy another Mustang? Probably not.

Close to perfect
This car is close to perfect as it gets. I have a few things I would improve from factory but overall there is no reason not to love this Mustang. I'm not a fan of how much they want to charge for some of the options, if they could crunch some numbers and find a way to save the customer some more money on some of the options it would make the car buying experience so much better and make getting the options you want so much easier.
Best Mustang Ever; Infotainment is Nightmare
I ordered my 2015 Mustang GT AUTOMATIC (for some reason Edmunds only lets me pick a 6 spd manual for this review) in MAY 2014. Needless to say, I wanted it early. Styling: Love it. Each angle has another inspiring look and sexy curve. WARNING: You will get compliments and questions at gas stops, etc. Car is real head turner. Performance: Outta this world. It moves quick, and the 5.0L v8 is smooth, powerful, and WOW just perfect for this car. If you like Mustangs or pony cars, you should love this car. Interior is high class, well thought out, and after 1600 miles, still wows me when I get in the drivers seat.
