2015 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L - Advoid!!!
I purchased this car with 80K miles for my son. I read the reviews at that point which called it a reliable vehicle. The car has presented us with numerous expensive problems and is designed very poorly. A few of the Issues: The car started to overheat so we pulled over and had it towed home. We learned the problem was the cooling thermostat. A thermostat is about a $40 part typically in a easily accessible place, so no big deal. However Fusion thermostat is under the manifolds requiring half the engine to be dismantled, cost of repair over $1,500, for a task a layman should be able to perform for $40. We did the brakes, and the rotors were over $100 each. I only got 45K miles before had to redo pads and get new rotors again. I have a Toyota Highlander and Prius, their rotors were considerably less and brake job lasted much longer. Front light bulb went out. You cant reach in and just replace in 5 minutes like my Toyotas. You have to disassemble the front end pull the bumper and light assembly forward to get enough room to replace the light bulb. The job took about 3 hours to change a light bulb. We have had numerous other problems as well: several door lock actuators have been replaced, AC blower fan, and other items. I will never buy a Fusion and probably a Ford again, and I use to be a Mustang owner/ fan. Sincerely

This car has a very large blind spot created by the center pillars, and the rear seat head rests. The transmission shifts down on a very minor slope. Shifting could be a lot smoother. Acceleration on the interstate was very good. All in all this is a good car. The resale value is way below what it should be. at this time it is listed at lower than 50% of the remaining balence.

2015 SE 1.5L ecoboost
The good: I purchased this Fusion new for $17,990. After 26,000 miles, I have had zero mechanical issues. Combined gas mileage is 28.3mpg over those 26k miles. 60/40 highway/city. The highway mileage is really impressive after the engine is broken in, averaging just under 41mpg. The seats are very comfortable, and the ride is very quite and smooth. The 1.5L turbo is impressive and really does a good job. The bad: My local ford dealer has a horrible maintenance department. The cost to do a standard oil change and tire rotation is 3x what Honda charges for my Accord. Also, the 30k mile service costs around $800. In the car, the screen is small for the backup camera. Overall, it's a nice car.

coming out of a VW GLI
all around poor experience with this car. performance is terrible with the small 1.5 liter motor pushing 3500 lbs. from a start probably one of the most anemic engines I've ever experienced- only when the turbo kicks in does it finally get up to speed. pitches and rolls entirely too much entering and exiting an onramp. poor tire and brake wear ( at least compared to cars I have experienced in the past). The car has had a continued water leak in the truck which the dealer cannot figure out. The car is too big for a midsize. This isn't the easiest hunk a junk to park in the mall parking lot next to your Civics and Audis which are all a foot or more shorter.
