Both my husband and I have had only foreign cars in the past. He has a 2009 Honda Accord and I had a Toyota Camry before I decided it was time to buy a new car. I test drove both the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima. The Ford Fusion won hands down. I love this car. It really should be in a Luxury car class. My husband is trying to covince me that he should drive my Fusion and I should take his Accord. No way! The Accord does not handle as well as the Fusion and cost us more money. It's about time an american auto company came out with a car like this. If you choose to buy a Honda Accord or even a Toyota Camry instead of a Fusion, it's your loss big time.

I fell in love with exterior styling then i drove one and decided that this would definitely be ny next vehicle. It has more than enough power and phenomenal gas mileage (39.5 mpg) mostly around town with a short commute to work each day. I have recommended this car to many of my friends who are looking for a new car.

2020 Update...now have over 130k miles and it's running strong. Honestly have no real need to replace it. Great car! Original review: Bought new and now have about 102k miles. No major issues, just periodic normal items like (batteries, filters, oil and tires). Sync system better than our 2011 honda's which looks like it's 5 years behind the times. Looking for a restaurant on your trip, just ask and it's nearly google like (though still could be better). Other systems give me locations that aren't even the same state! The biggest thing for me is this car is fun to drive for a daily, I still like the looks even though it's probably dated now and it has been reliable. The only item that appears to be wearing prematurely is the upper front suspension bushings. When they need to be replaced they will squeak and make noise. In my case, it was the left upper A-arm, which is a relatively simple replacement. If things continue, I'll be happy to keep it another 50k+ miles!

Great steering for road feel and handling. Car is really fine to drive. When we bought it, summer 2009, we also drove Accord and Camry, and after 84,000 miles we have no regrets that we picked the Fusion. Also at 73 mph on a level interstate we get 31-32 mpg. No reason to regret our choice of the 4 cyl engine either. For some reason we decided to sell it and buy a Tesla, but the Fusion remains a really outstanding car. I've been driving since 1960, and know good cars from bad. I hope we are not making a mistake by selling it. The one caution if you buy used: check the front strut towers for structural rust.

I bought this car 9 months ago and do not regret it at all. It looks very sporty especially the front but is still conservative. Picks up great for a 4-cylinder and gets solid gas mileage. Love the sync system and sunroof. A couple complaints would be rear visibility when backing out, low A/C controls and c'mon plastic hubcaps? I had to buy wheels because they were hideous but other than that love the car
