A great surprise
After 6 months and 12k miles, here are some of my thoughts. Performance is great. Corners well and has impressive acceleration even with half-throttle. Fuel economy has been the biggest surprise - Ford definitely underpromised and overachieved in that category (rated 18/27; I can get about 22/30). Inside, there's very little wind noise, but the stock tires are pretty stiff so road noise can be a nuisance. I like the seats, but some people may find them a bit firm. Even with lots of driving I've had no issues with reliability - everything just seems to work as it should. I wish I had more room for a detailed review, but here's the main point: I am very glad I decided to buy this car.
Poorly made car, DONT BUY DONT BUY SELL SELL SELL
Purchased my used 2010 ford fusion four years ago and have had nothing but problems. The transmission started throwing codes and flaring first month I had it. Still under warranty but upon taking it to the dealer they claimed everything was fine. Third time taking it the replaced the throttle body becuase theres "extended part warranty" on it. Confused, but seemed to help. Following that repair power steering would intermittently cut out while driving. Disconnecting battery and resetting ECU helped but only temporarily. Ford wants 1800 for the power steering saying that replacing the whole component would be the only thing that helps. DOESNT SEEM SAFE!!!! Now transmission is pretty much destroyed its self and Kelly Blue Book says it's worth 250 bucks!!!! Waste of money, you see these cars, move out of the way they're a danger to everyone on the rode. Did I mention it stalls when ever it wants. Have nearly caused a few accidents.

Homerun
Purchased the base S auto model for under $17k and must say nothing comes close to it for style, performance, engine/tranny, build quality and MPG. Add that you are also supporting an American manufacturer that didn't take a bailout money is icing on the cake. I have 09 malibu and a 10 honda accord and have driven the Camry/Altima several times so I have compared them extensively.
Wanted to like this car
I bought our 2010 fusion late 2010 and have had no major issues with it and then wham! The transmission began giving major problems. We took it to the dealer first with no real help. We then took it to Mr. Transmission and they found a catastrophic failure inside the transmission. $4000 repair later and out of warranty we contacted Ford to look for help and at least for them to help rectify the issue with us and all we got was a "Sorry its your problem". Granted the milage was at 150,000km but a modern transmission should not fail this badly this soon. I am sorry I bought this car, for anyone else out there with this problem, report it to Transport Canada. Perhaps they can do something.
