Used 2017 Ford Explorer Consumer Reviews
Love my recent purchase!!
Purchased my limited Explorer. It has all the bells and whistles. Very happy with it.
I've been converted to Ford!
We bought our 2017 Explorer with a rebuilt title in 2021, but in the 6 months we've owned it we have been very pleased with the ride and quality of it. The turbocharged V6 in this vehicle is impressive, just touching the gas pedal the engine is eager to sprint. The Platinum trim has just about every bell and whistle the market has available in terms of creature comforts. I've never been in a vehicle with massaging seats, it's great for those long distance drives and relieving pressure points after sitting for a while. There's 7 different color choices for ambient lighting to change the accent lights which gives your car a little more personality. The adaptive cruise control is incredibly precise, and the 360 degree sensors on the exterior make parking and backing up a breeze. The engineers at Ford have put a lot of thought into creating a pleasurable driving experience every time you get behind the wheel of this vehicle. Honestly the only gripe I have about this vehicle is the fuel economy (especially given the current gas prices), between freeway driving and putting around town real world MPG rests between 16-17. Definitely not a deal breaker, I didn't buy a turbocharged V6 SUV for the gas savings, it's our primary family vehicle, and it gets us where we need to go safely and comfortably every time. This is the first Ford I've owned, but I am thoroughly impressed and pleased with our purchase. With how many Explorers there are on the road in America, it's easy to understand why they're so popular, it's just all around a solid choice. I wouldn't hesitate to begin my next new car search starting with Ford first, our Explorer has successfully turned me into a big Ford fan. Update 10/18/22 - I’ve had the SUV for almost a year now, I love it just as much today as the day I bought it, and haven’t had a single mechanical issue with it since then either.

Handsome Vehicle
Nice solid suspension. Rough surfaces are smoothed out. Perfect height for getting in and out of. No doubt a very sharp looking and handling SUV. I guess that's why they are seen everywhere in every trim level.

Great SUV
I just purchased a 17 Explorer XLT and I love it. It has plenty of room for passengers or cargo. I drive 300-400 miles a day at my job and I'm very comfortable in my new truck. The V6 is enough power. I had the choice of one with a 4 cylinder and I don't think that would be enough. The mileage could be better though. I'm getting like 22 mpg on the highway but overall I'm very satisfied with my vehicle.
