Used 2017 Ford Explorer Consumer Reviews
Turned in my Tesla for my Explorer!
I had a tricked out 460 power Tesla when I move to Oregon and I gave it up for a 2017 Ford fully loaded explorer sport and I have never looked back! Hands-down this is one of the best cars I’ve ever had. It’s super comfortable even on long trips, it gets decent gas mileage for its size, it looks cool and it’s fun to drive. Has a hood amount of horsepower too. I think I’ll probably have it forever because I love it so much! The only thing that does bother me is that the quality of the interior leather is not very good. Nor are the vinyl materials. It gets dirty very easily and generally does not look that good. It also lost the leather smell in about two seconds after I purchased the car. But other than that it’s fantastic!

Great ride with affordable style
I like my ride because it is affordable, big enough cargo to haul in that needs to be secured. The seats are flush when folded down. Alot of cars have gaps in them and they are not flat. So far no problems. I bought this used with barely 17,000 miles so like brand new! Rides is smooth, gas is good for the size.

An incredible value
I have had a number of Fords over the years and have been largely disappointed. So many issues... But - after having been away from Ford so long I'm incredibly surprised at the "new" Explorer. I own an Infiniti QX60 that was about the same money I paid for the Explorer, but the Explorer Platinum has WAY more features. The ride is amazing, it is completely quiet in the interior even at higher speeds. The engine has plenty of power, and is so nimble at times I feel like I'm driving a sports car. The Explorer is not as big as larger SUV's, but the 3rd row seats do come in very handy and is plenty roomy. I really the power fold-away seats - they are amazing. The remote start works beautifully, warms the car up pretty quickly and is easy to use (compared to the QX60). The only real complaint I have is the lack of an arm rest in the 2nd row seating. UPDATE: I was able to find and install a reasonably priced OEM second row armrest via and internet search (pretty commonly available). The only issue we had was the passenger side outside mirror motor needed to be replaced (under warranty). It is such a pleasure to drive on short as well as long trips. Momma loves to rake her lunch break and sit in the drivers seat while she gets a seat massage! The car is zippy and has ok gas mileage. It handles amazingly well (hardly any body roll and great tracking through curves). Plenty of room for everyone and LOTS of room for hauling things in the back.

Comfortable and Confident
Needed a car this size to keep up with a busy family of five (plus the dog)...marching band, college dorm move-in/out, dance, camping, skiing, canoeing, a very active group that needs their space in the vehicle and room for gear. The car has been great in all weather conditions, hot and cold, rain and snow, giving us confidence to get where we're headed when we need to be out and about. The features on this trim line are rich...but truly convenient, making the business more comfortable with details like seat warmers AND seat coolers, automatic sun roof and visors, rain-sensing wipers, and safety features like 360 degree cameras and lane sensors.
