Used 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Consumer Reviews
I really wanted to love this car
BUYER BEWARE** I had 2001 Explorer sport for almost a year and i bought it with 149k. ( i had to push this car about as much as i drove it) during the 8 months and 800 miles i owned it i replaced the fuel pump, intake manifold gasket, fuel pump, fuel line, fuel filter, thermostat housing, valve cover gaskets, sway bar links, cv joints, battery terminal cable, gear selector connecting rod, all door handles and last but not least three vacuum lines......Yeah it sucked. i was repairing this car non stop since i owned it. But to be honest during the rare moments this car would work it was great. The acceleration was amazing and it had great off road capabilities...It could do anything i needed it to. (on a side note it never left me stranded)

Mine is GREAT!!!
I love this vechicle. Ford does it again with inpressing me. I am not too happy with the Fuel Economy; However, everyone tells me it is still good for an SUV.

Ford exploder?
Great truck amazing for winter! Very hard to get stuck hard corp truck off roading. Tight seating not good with kids perfect if your single. Don't trust the dealerships. I had no brakes or dash lights or muffler. O2 sensors are pricey and the truck is a gas pig for sure! But little fix on it had it a year and had to repair dealer goofs. Good by if weather turns fast.
Good Vehicle
I bought this car a year ago and have almost 30,000 miles on it. It has been a very good car and I take it everywhere. Will definitely drive it until it cant be driven anymore.
EXPLORER SPORT
Traded in a Nissan Pathfinder and gave a US brand another chance. I'm extremely happy with my purchase of a 2001 Explorer Sport. I love the PM schedule versus the Pathfinder, which had costly PM's every 30k. It's fun to drive and the upgraded interior adds comfort. Job well done FORD.
