I have owned 14 SUVs and this is the best product to date. American Ford V8 durability with generous cargo hauler and timeless style.

This is the second review we've written. We haul 3 teenage boys,a 20 foot ski boat, and all kinds of other things. We live on a very windy two lane way out in the sticks. This vehicle experiences ice storms in the winter and monsoons in the summer. It has impeccable road manners in all driving conditions. We have 80,000 miles on "the beast." This is A very safe vehicle in all respects. I would highly recommend this one over all its competitors. It's a shame it came along when these types of vehicles are going by the way side. The fuel economy is actually decent (18 MPG on the open road) for such a large and heavy machine. It's also very comfortable and has proven itself reliable.

Brake issues 2007 Expedition

My right front brake caliper failed at less than 41000 miles resulting in approx. $700.00 in repairs. Ford Motor Company denied any assistance for the repairs on a vehicle that is TWO YEARS OLD ! I understand that the vehicle was 4000 miles over warranty, however this is a NEW vehicle. I am curious to see if any other Expedition owners have a similiar story to tell. Ford's poor treatment of a long time customer has me doubting my brand loyalty. I am totally dissatisfied with their handling of my situation and advised them I would be sharing my experience with other consumers.

Vehicle Not Fit for Towing.

When attempting to go forward or reverse on an incline, the vehicle will intermittently not respond to the gas pedal. Sometimes it surges and stops. When I pull the boat trailer up the launch ramp, I have to stop the engine and start it again for the vehicle to respond. Ford dealer (now out of business) could not find the problem. Now that the vehicle is out of warranty, Ford is not interested. All they could do is to make an appointment with a dealer at my cost. Ford states that the records are no longer available since the dealer is out of business. I bought this as a tow vehicle, however I will no longer tow due to safety issues. Ford has no customer service at all!

Having been a loyal Ford customer for several years. I purchased a 2002 Explorer for the fold down 3rd row. since then and 3 kids later and teaching rescue classes I was running short on space for my kids and equipment! After waiting several years for the Expedition EL I have been enjoying it's flexibility from hauling kids & equipment to carrying lumber from Lowes for that weekend project! The EL gives my the capabilities of a full length pick-up while being able to haul dlicate items all in the same trip! Oh yeah... And transport a family of 5!
