Never again
My CPO Escape needed a new engine a year after i bought it. At 50,000 miles. Leaky coolant was to blame. I will never buy a ford again.

Great little SUV
This great little SUV is perfect for taking the kids around or loading up for a camping trip. Lots of room and fun to drive plenty of horse power with the eco boost package.

Escape the Escape...not worth your stress
In the five years that I've owned this vehicle I've replaced the brakes twice in the rear and once in the front, I replaced all calipers, all wheel bearings, rims and tires, valve cover, stereo sync unit and components, BCM unit, tensioner, shifter linkage and both serpentine belts. Out of that entire list, only one item was a recall...all components started to fail just outside of the warranty period. Ford uses several plastic components on this vehicle that fail and in my opinion should have never been used. Also a lot of shops, including the dealerships do not keep parts on hand for the best selling SUV in Canada since 2012...everything has to be ordered and takes weeks to arrive. Honestly worst vehicle I've ever owned, all my GM vehicles and components were x10 more reliable than this car is in a whole.

Happy with my Escape
Recently purchased a preowned 2017 Escape SE with the base 1.5L ecoboost 4WD and I am very pleased. I like the interior and appreciate the soft material used for the armrest. Also I think the seats are pretty comfortable and stain resistant. Spilled cup of strawberry soda on passenger seat and it came out easily with a towel and no sign of the spill at all. The one negative listed above that I do agree with is the lack of power provided by the 1.5L engine. But once you get moving it is zippy enough to overtake other cars on the highways. I would recommend this for anyone interested in a compact SUV and suggest the 2.0L ecoboost if you need that punch when the light turns green.
