We bought this car from a friend at 56k in 2021. The check engine light came on at 60,250 miles after owning it for 5 months. We take it into the dealer, they said it has cylinder #2 misfire and coolent in the cylinder. The fix is a new engine block at a cost of $9,200. The car is not drivable at 60k. Never, ever, ever buy a ford. Warranty ended at 60k. We bought a 2004 4runner from a friend at the same time as a car to pull stuff with 150k. It is our now our main driver and rides better than the escape. Do NOT ever buy a ford if you can afford not to. Warranty ended at 60k, car is dead at 60.4k and the dealer said "tough luck sucker"!

Gas mileage is not that good, acceleration is acceptable. Limited on inside space. Rough riding with top heavy feel....feels sway on roads. Bought one 2 months ago and we regret it. Will trade it in within a year and go with something else.

Impressive Little SUV

Aside from all the comfort and convenience, I have been impressed by how good this vehicle is at handling in the snow (mine is the SE, AWD). Traction Control works quite well. The SYNC 3.0 is greatly improved, and CTA (Cross-Traffic Alert) is absolutely awesome. I do have plenty of suggestions to the designers, especially on the exterior, though.

transmission issues

I bought this vehicle off of carvana with 3years and 30k miles on it. My transmission eat its self apart after 39k miles. Ford then replaced the transmission at no cost and I had no transmission issues for approximately 2 and a half years/42k miles. Now, The car will now lose power at low speed and when stopped, specifically in stop and go traffic and when attempting to accelerate after coming to a complete stop for example at a red light or attempting to merge onto and off of a highway at a yield. I would press on the accelerator and the engine would not rev and the car would stay still. I had to turn the car off and back on again for it to provide power. I brought the vehicle first to an independent dealership and was told "the turbo is blown, there is oil everywhere, and you need a new engine". I didn't believe this mechanic, so I towed the vehicle to ford where they told me that there is no oil leaking, the engine and transmission are fine, but that I needed to do a completely unrelated fix for $800 that did not effect the driving of the car and that is not a safety concerns, The ford mechanic told me that this lurching could be "something to do with the auto start stop feature" even though there were no warning lights that have come on or diagnostic issues or codes. I was simply brushed off. No car just suddenly stops providing power at low speeds or when the car is stopped with NO issues. Otherwise, I owed the car for 45k miles and enjoyed the comfort and spaciousness of the car. I have had issues with the ford infotainment system not being responsive and frequently having to shut off the car to make the infotainment system work and connect properly with my iphone. Additionally, the car preformed relatively well when driving "off road". By off road I mean on uneven dirt roads with small to medium rocks and potholes. If not for the transmission issues, this is a great little car to commute, road trip and even to drive to further off the beat and path hiking trails and camping site.

After only 47000 miles my transition needed to be replaced. Very frustrating and disappointing.
