92 Dodge B 250 Conversion van
This has been an excellent vehicle for family vacation and fun to drive. It handles very well in the changing weather in Nebraska, and mechanically, it has been a sound car. Never had a mechanical problem, just general maintenance has kept it rolling.
Best Passenger Van Out There
My wife and I purchesed a full sized Dodge Van in 1995. I cant tell you how happy we are with that purchess. We have driven over 115000 mi without so much as a hiccup. We cahnge the oil regurally and get most of the required serviceings There is not so much as a flake of rust and the engine and drive train still look brand new. I firmly believe this vechical will be running long after I go to meet my maker. Thanks Dodge.
Very good van
I use my 1998 15 passenger van for my shuttle business. I bought it with 10,000 miles in 1999 and as of Dec 2007 I have 180,000 miles on it. Besides oil changes, tires, and brakes pads this van has never had any problems or let me down. Engine and transmission great. Air cond. good. Zero problems. Best van I have ever had.
95 SLT 2500 conversion van
This is the best vehicle that I have owned as far as repairs. The only thing that has ever gone wrong with this van are the general maint. things. Teh van has been all over the east coast with no problems. I ordered it with the 318 in case I ever wanted to tow anything with it. The van with the V-8 still gets 20 mpg over the road. I would highly recommend these vans as they comfortable nad fun to drive, and are a good vehicle for the money..
Big Blue Van never dies!
I admit it. I own a big blue van. The big, 15-pass airport shuttle bus van. I bought it because I race motorcycles all over the country and I don't like towing a trailer. I can fit two bikes, all of my gear, my significant other, and still have room to crawl in the back seat and take a nap. Very noisy, interior trim is very cheesy, and I've broken a lot of plastic pieces. However, the drivetrain seems bullet proof. I almost ran it out of oil once and I just refilled it with no consequences. Has a lot of highway power, but oviously slow off the line, seeing how it's nearly 6,000 lb. dry.
Land Yatch
Dodge Vans have always had very powerful, very dependable engines; so the passing power in my 360 equipped version while impressive (6000 Lb van) is not surprising; handles very well too! What is surprising is the interior arrangements and use of space. someone finally got it right. ususally I had to choose between large center console convenience (Ford) or ample foot space/ leg room (all others). Now Dodge has them both! and i just love the table top that flips out with an extension between drivier and passenger; plus cup holders that will easily hold a super gulp or 1 liter bottle, wow!! the outward visibility is excellent through very large windows, yet deep tinting allows for privacy.
92 Dodge RamWagon B250
This van has been used for everything from driving us all to church to family vacations to hauling hay (the seats come out and get stored in the garage). Easy to drive and love the space! Beautiful interior too. Wife likes it.
95 Ram Van
Very servicable from the start. Plenty of power, towed a heavy pop-camper at 95mph in Montana, I can always tow it at highway speed and keep up with any traffic. I do all maint. and most repairs myself. I fix before it breaks. Fuel pump went out at 123000, replaced water pump, alternater, starter just in case. I thought the trans was gone but only blew a hose. Uses about one quart of oil in 3000mi. Power door locks are not reliable. Windshield leaks and wind noise.
A used van worth considering
Bought a Mark 3 conversion with 77k miles a year ago for $6,500 - these Dodge Vans seem very cheap. Have used as both people hauler and for antique business for 10k miles with no problems. Expect to replace transmission eventually, heating/cooling controls have a mind of their own, interior & exterior trim are poor. The fuel injected 318 is smooth and solid, always starts. Interior space is fantastic. Gets surprising 17 mpg on freeway at 75. Buy one for $2.5k less than a Ford or GM, then put the money away for any possible repairs and you won't be disappointed. I also found the ride a little less truck-like than my old Ford Van. With the reliable 318 may be the best used van bargain.
Reliable people hauler
We have had this vehicle for four years and it has been one of the most reliable vehicles that I have ever owned. Aside from regular maintenance, this van has required little attention. Parts are inexpensive to replace. It's comfortable for long trips. We have the short wheelbase version, which can be easily parked at the mall. Six kids and two adults did several 700-mile rides in this van with no complaints...believe it or not. If you need a people hauler and don't want a minivan or SUV, this is the perfect vehicle. Good but not great fuel mileage, decent handling, good ride and low repair costs make the Ram Wagon a good choice over the Chevy or Ford vans. This bodystyle was replaced by the Mercedes-maufactured Sprinter.
1990 Dodge B150 Ram Wagon
This van is the king of the road. It drives incredibly nice and smoothly. It is extremely reliable, and I know whenever I turn the key, I know it will roar to life! My particular van has only 104,000 miles, which is EXTREMELY rare for a vehicle of this age, and those are nearly all highway miles, which is definitely a plus!
my review
I like the way this van handles, it's power and luxury. It's just a good all- a-round van and it looks good.
Best Full Size Family Van
This was my second Dodge family Van. The first was a 1980 model, 250 3/4 ton, we had it for 10 years. Never let us down, exceptional utility, good gas mileage, prone to body rust. 1996 SLT (Luxury) 2500 model 3/4 ton, has firm good handling suspension,(1500 1/2 too soft-wallows) 5.2L Magnum V8 AWESOME! 4 speed Torqueflite transmission, 3.55 ratio HD rear axle. 50,000 mile average fuel economy 15.6 Roomy, good looking vehicle, easy driver, great visibility, no mechanical/electrical problems, simple service, No rust. Many 24hr. trips Mass. to Fla.
bang for buck
my Dodge 2500 conversion 3.9 V6 has power like a rocket kept tuned and oiled, excellent gas mileage. Had minor electrical issues not resolved by dealership on three tries independent solved it. Chicago to Mississippi pulling u-hauls with ease. Ride and sight good decent rode manners. Drove this van in police transport work also. Handles best with maintenance kept.In 5 yrs ownership always started never broke down.Chrysler got it wrong not up-dating. Benz/Chrysler replacement van ugly. I have spent maybe $ 1000.00 in repair during 5yrs.
3500 Ram van holds its own
Dodge fulll size 15 passenger vans have their good and bad pts. Turning radius is poor but that seems to be status quo for most vans of this size and year. Gas mileage really isn't that bad for such a huge vehicle, and over many steep hills back and forth on the hwy here in Branson, MO, we get 15-16 mpg on an engine with 135K on it. Transmission went out at 127K, along with the computer(questionable repair by dealer), fuel pump( again questionable repair) and O2 sensor. Some is normal wear and tear, it has towed horse trailers!! Interior design is kinda poor though, its tall to get into, and hard to seat people. If style hasnt changed, Chevy would be my next pick for new van ( mpg and design)
Van Conversion
This has been an outstanding vehicle for me. It is a van conversion and the quality is superior. Mechanically we have not had any major repairs. This vehicle pulls my 3-horse slant all over town with pretty good performance. The gas mileage is between 12-15 mpg. I have even had it as high as 20 mpg driving cross country.
Exceptionally Good Van
I used my van mainly as family transportation. I have 5 kids that were shuttled around in it for the last ten years. It is the short wheel base version but still had plenty of room for 7 adults and was very comfortable. No serious mechanical problems have been encountered as of now with 108000 miles. Yesterday my wife and one of my children were involved in a serious accident in it and survived with no injuries. Although it is now considered totaled due to the cost of repairs vs value left on it, I am thankful my family was not in a smaller minivan or any economy vehicle for that matter. Dodge did a good job making a safe vehicle that served us well while protecting my family.
Great Family Van
We bought this van for a family of six. two adults and four grown teen with alot of leg room. even the dogs could fit with no prob. it is so comfortable that it has been difficult to trade in for any upgrades. only prob i have had it has been cata. converter has been replaced more than 3 times since we bought it. but all else good. they stop making this vehicle. get alot of comments from public.
This van is a lemon
1999 B2500. Everything that could go wrong has. Van has 80,000 miles, had to replace water pump, rear ABS sensor, seals on front pump, power train control module, intake manifold, many gaskets. Total repair bills, excluding brakes and routine tire, oil, and coolant changes, over $5000. Body fallen apart, interior and exterior. Decorative side molding on outside has come off, and interior trim. Noisy, gaskets around doors, supposed to cut wind noise, don't. Just come loose. We will never buy another Dodge product.
Good outside but not Inside
This vehicle served well for our family van before being totalled in a wreck last week. However, it was "falling apart" on the inside. Especially had problems with the front seats. The main sliding door was next. Dodge needs to improve the quality of their work inside this vehicle. Otherwise, A/C excellent, engine strong, could use a little better suspension.
great vehicle
I still own this vehicle I wish I got it new. This van reminds me of old faithful. It is great mechanically, still. It is a sound van. It seats 15 passengers. Great for the kids. Seats do not remove easily for cargo but the 8 cylinder motor is strong enough to pull a large trailer. Handling is a little loose at faster speeds. I have an outside to inside air leek that gushes into the driver side cab. Easy to clean floors with the rubber flooring, great for the messy kids. Not so good gas mileage. I get around 10 mpg in the city. 14 over the road. Just BASIC up keep and it starts up every time. Even in cold weather.
Full size comfort
Good around full size van.
The Functional Van
It's not necessarily pretty or particularly fun to drive but it has been a very good functional van. The pick up is pretty poor, but it cruises from 60-75 mph very well.
A new RamWagon for the growing family
We bought this to replace our 97 8 (vs. 12) passenger B2500. There were aspects of the 97 I liked better, but overall the 99 is superior. Lots of power; comfortable seating for the 7 kids, wife, and me; well equipped from the factory. Only get 12 MPG :-( but to be expected with the 5.9. Wish we had the limited slip for pulling the snowmobile trailer. Only real problem has been bad ball joints early on, and a rare, intermittant engine ignition cut-out that the dealer can't diagnose.
B3500 Wagon
A real workhorse. Drives great on highways. Very reliable. Smooth powerfull engine. Other than poor gas mileage this is a excellent vehicle.
don't bother to get one
you will spend lots of time geting it repaired. brakes won't last long, electical system will trouble you, guzzles gas, drive train is a headache. this is the 2nd one i've had and the last. ( i thought maybe the first was a lemon, gave it a second chance).dodge is less expensive than other makes, but you get what you pay for!
