2500 SLT "Bighorn' Cummins
I considered the Chevy Duramax, until I drove the Dodge 600 Cummins. I now have over 20k miles, aftermarket shocks, air-lift, and performance module by Predator. This truck actually gets over 20mpg in the city, and 24-25 on the highway. The power to haul my RV is is remarkable. The aftermarket gas shocks help the rough ride, and to date, have not had one problem.
Diesel is not an option listed-why?
Vehicle is outstanding, should have bought a diesel engine before this truck , mileage is what I had hoped for. Actual mileage around town is on average 18 mpg or better, on the highway at posted speeds it has achieved 24 mpg - When I first pulled the 7500 lb trailer the average mpg was about 14, however the engine is broken in now , so I expect it may improve. Have only been back to the dealer once for warranty, the transmission computor lost its mind and would not shift correctly---Wish I could have found a stick shift--would recommend this. Great truck

Love it, but issues.
Great truck, awesome power with the Cummins. Pretty much the best part of the whole truck. Has been in the shop way too much for too many things to list. But now that I'm comming up to 100k the thing is really starting to pay for itself. It gets less expensive to own every year. Hauls excellent. mpg are good.
Love my Hemi
This is the most comfortable, well built, affordable truck I have driven. Anyone looking for a new full size truck...I recommend they try driving a new Ram. I drove my 2500 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi from Syracuse,N.Y to Savannah,G.A. and only had to fill the tank up twice. I love this truck.
Always a Chevy man?
Awas always a Chevy man, but I had to stray. When I went shopping for a new truck, I wasn't going to buy a Dodge, but I decided beforehand that I would drive, price, and compare all the heavy duty trucks. Chevy was good. Ford was so uncomfortable and look so much like the old Fords, I did not even drive it. I went to Dodge and wasn't expecting to be impressed, it had comfort. So I drove a Dodge with a Hemi. I was blown away by the horsepower and the extra features the other others did not have. I got more truck for the buck. Worked a great deal thanks to Edmunds. If this truck gives me great service I will probably buy another in a few years.
