My first new truck in 16 years

I have had the truck for just over a month now and I love it. I drive 40 miles each way to work and am getting about 17 miles to the gallon. Better than I expected! The 4.7 has more than enough power for my use and the interior provides all the room I need to get my family around. Dodge could make a locking tailgate standard. I had to go and by one to prevent it from being stolen. All in all I love the look and ride it provides. Hope to keep it for 10 years or 250,000 miles.

Albeit the fact that I have made nearly $20,000 in mods to my trucks, I look forward everyday to driving it. love the sound, the looks I get. When I "matte" it at 35mph she gets sideways... can you say yeee haw!! But what do you expect with a truck with around 700hp. It has all the sound of True Viper! Yes, the mileage is bad on it, but I went into buying it knowing that it got terrible mileage. If you want an eco car get a Yugo! If you have the need for power and speed get a Ram SRT-10!

unreliable, dangerous handling

In 3 years I have had to put 3,300.00 into it. Front axle wore out, needed all new rotors and brakes within 2 years, and I had completed all dealer recommended maintenance, which ran me close to a grand alone. Standard mirrors are useless, cupholders are useless, seat belt covers routinely get hooked on your clothes and you go fishing under cars in a parking lot to find them. Emergency handling is non-existent. Sticker stated anti-lock brakes, little did I know that only meant the 2 rear wheels, which I discovered when I braked in the rain the truck went sliding sideways. A power plug went within 2 years, heat/ac fan went in 2 1/2 years, and it has stalled twice now due to electronics.

Wanted Some Performance and Utility

I purchased my SRT-10 Quad Cab after much research. I could not have made a better choice for what I was looking for. I wanted high performance and my wife wanted luxury and safety. We found it in our 2006 Ram SRT-10 Quad Cab. This truck is the best handling, best stopping and head turning vehicle that I have ever owned. I am seriously considering another one in regular cab. No complaints about the mileage either. I have a 95 3/4 ton ext. cab with the cast iron V-10 and the gas mileage is about the same as the SRT- 10. I am actually impressed with the mileage. I only drive the SRT maybe once or twice a month even though I really want to drive it daily. My hat's off to the SRT engineers. Awesome

A Man's Truck

This is the first truck I've bought, and although my family farm has always had Dodge's, this one is easily my favorite. We have a 2500 Cummins and my brother in law has a 3500 cummins, and we've had nothing but good reliability and fantastic performance with them. My 1500 fits right in, and with its powerful 5.7 L Hemi can tow really whatever I need it to. I commute to college with it, and although it's fun to drive and looks great, it's not a commuter vehicle. Mileage is around 17 mpg total, not bad, but I hardly touch the pedal. Interior is fresh, clean, nicely done IMO, unlike Ford's whose interior is boring. Overall a great truck, if you need it! Otherwise, a great toy....
