I bought this truck in 2002, has the 4.7 with full towing package. I towed a 25 ft travel trailer to Utah last year. (fr0m Louisiana) Not one problem. I towed to Connecticut and New York this year with a new 28 ft trailer. I wish I had the Hemi, but it wasn't available at the time of purchase. Still the truck performed flawlessly. My wife loves it. This is my first Dodge. Odometer is now at 35000. With the 20 inch tires the ride is nice and smooth. My next move will be up to the 2500. My trailers seem to be getting bigger not smaller.

What awesome Hemi power. Blows away most other cars and trucks. Bought used at 5000 miles and added cruise and power locks. Just drove 3000 miles in rain, snow and sleet including mountain driving and freeways. Averaged 16.5 mpg at 75 to 80 mph and a big load in the bed. Love this truck! No repairs, only oil changes since purchase.

Great so far. HEMI sounds great thrill every time it starts. The 20's dont ride as well as the 17's but I love them. YOu dont but a truck to ride well. Space of interior is great as is the 6'3 bed. My only reccommendation is that its probably not as fast feeling as you would think but youll notice when you go to pass on freeway.

I plan to update the review after a few months, but even after just one day of owning my new 2004 Ram 1500 SLT QC 4x4 SWB I am so happy with it I wanted to write about it. I drove the truck about 40 miles today - I just couldn't stop myself, it was such a blast. The truck handles great in town, on the highway - everywhere. I haven't taken it on the trail yet, but I have no reason to doubt it will be at home there, too. Some of the perks in the SLT really shine through - the power drivers seat, the upgraded cloth seats, the infinity stereo system, the cool storage compartments, etc.

The power of the Hemi is great! Unfortunately you pay in fuel economy. The interior of the dodge Ram trucks are very boring with controls and features straight out of an 80's model vehicle. It's time Dodge gave us a few toys to play with inside the vehicle.

Truck is great, chicks dig it. Big, tough and agile. Only problem is the gas mileage, but thats to be expected with a truck.

I have owned my 2wd reg slt cab for two weeks now, and had no adjustment period. The truck felt like it was designed for me. The hemi performance is awesome, and ride quality is excellent (but you still know your in a truck). The dealership after the sale has been terrific. I think Dodge has listened to the consumer and produced a truck that will be a force to recon with among the top three. This is my first Dodge, and I am impressed with the fit and function of the truck. I definately recommend it, and if you have driven the Ford and Chevy do yourself a favor drive the dodge.

This truck is about the fastest things on the road and its a truck!! I've tried F-150 Lightnings of various years and they are rather fast. This truck closes the door on them though. I just wish all wheel drive was an option or standard to control the wheelspin

If it wasn't free to me....no way. There's not many trucks, let alone one by Dodge that can command a $45k price....not worth it just to get a cool powerful motor.

This is a great truck. I average 18 mpg on the highway using mobil one synthetic oil. 8000 miles-No problems

I struggled with this purchase. I owned a trouble free Toyota for years and wanted a bigger truck. I heard the horror stories about certain Dodges. After asking my mechanic and others I went for a test drive. This has been a great vehicle - dependable, comfortable, fun, very nice. I recommend it highly. It has plenty of power, great comfort and good quality. It is a beast in the snow - no problem at all. It is well built and sharp looking too.

I have been unable to find the 5.7 liter Hemi in any of these sites. So here we are. I am not a truck person, but my husband has wanted one for a very long time! We got it right before being stationed in Germany. Very big truck for this country. Lot easier in the states, but still very big. Also the gas mileage!! Not very good, but what can you expect from a 5.7 liter Hemi? I do love it now though!

Actually broke down in the first 35 miles. Dealer was outstanding in getting bad wiring repaired. Still the best truck owned.

I've had my truck for a little over a year ,and have found it to be reliable . I did however find existing body damage hidden under the weather gasket. The dealer fixed it but, I'm now finding spider type blisters under my clear coat. The dealer has pledged to fix the paint but I can't help but think I bought a 1500 with some issues

While driving down the fwy at aprox 75mph the truck shakes so bad you can not talk with fear of biting your lip. i have been to the dealer to fix the problem with no luck i am going to replace my rear shocks after 1 month of ownership.
mine is a hemi, the best truck today.

If your looking for a great all-a-round truck, can't beat the Dodge. Interior very roomy with plenty of storage. Have 4 kids, so I need lots of room. I've got the Hemi. It does get a little thirsty, but when you hit the pedal it takes off, even at 75(+). Have 35k miles in just 1yr with no problems. I will have to say it does have a vibration a little when I'm turning to the right after a stop. Feel it in the right front brake. I use Amsoil series 3000 synthetic motor oil. Great oil with less break down, which means less oil changes. Truck has plenty of torque for towing. Hate to get rid of this truck but have to go to the Dodge 3/4 with Cummins. Need the mileage since I drive over 35K(+) a year.

I have a new flame red 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Laramie with the Hemi and 20" wheels. It looks and sounds great. The interior is really comfortable and well thought-out, and you can see over everyone else, even with 2wd. The price was great with Dodge going after market share right now and the fact that it was a year-end close out. I love to drive it. I had a Chevy before, and did not think I would buy anything else, but decided to try the Dodge after driving it. It has the best warranty, most horsepower, best interior features, and best looks of any pickup out there.

In the 7 months i have had my dodge ram, it has been great. I have always wanted one, and now i do, its my first new car, and i cant complain. Few minor things such as no power locks/windows, or cruise control, but those i could live with out. I think those things should be included in base models, my 82 camaro had power locks and windows. The gas mileage i thought would be better, but for city, its not great. Gotta love that Ram look!!

I love this car i have a fully loaded 2wd 1500with the upgraged sound system and the sport tow package with 20 inch rims. the only problem i have is that brakes have all been replaced at 8,000 miles and there is a body sqeeking noise and the radio doesn't get clear reception other wise i wouldn't trade it for the world

Geat vehicle--nicest I've ever owned. Only down side is cargo light switch-- be careful how it is adjusted or it will drain battery. Hemi engine? When you punch it to pass it's like you have a rocket up your behind. Truck handles well, great performance--brakes excelent.. Have driven it in snow-- handles well. I love the shift on the go to 4wd. Goes in and out of 4wd easily--no more hubs to get out and spin. I recommended the vehicle to a friend and he bought one also. I checked out Ford F-150 also, as I've driven Ford trucks for years. No comparison. Ram, hands down.

Gotta have the 5.7L! 345 horses with amazing torque. I added a Volcan air intake and 3 inch dual exhausts and it's pushing 360 horses and still maintains around 13.8 mpg. If you want raw power... this is the truck you want.

The Lone Star Package is great. This is the 1st HEMI I have owned in a truck, and let me say WOW. That is some power, off the line and on the highway, you will not be disappointed. I have had no problems in the past 3 years, and with the great deal am not upside down on my loan :~). Just wish it had a sun roof. For RAW power and decent mpg, its well worth the money. This truck can get almost 18MPG highway, or down to 9mpg if you have a lead foot and love speed. The bottom line is the power is there when you need it!

Great truck. Hemi engine is very powerful but I only get about 14 MPG using mid grade fuel. I have the SLT modified with leather interior which is a nice upgrade. Ride is a little bouncy but with a Fiberglass topper it rides better. I havent had a chance to try the four wheel drive on the highway yet because the winter has been mild in Minnesota. This is by far, the best looking truck on the road and with the 20 inch wheels I can look down at the H2-Hummer at a stop light. I would recomend this truck to anyone and with the incentives, it's a great buy.

I had the 2003 4.7 and loved it.They came out with the Hemi in the same model I had and I traded up. They both are awesome trucks.They are both similar except for performance and horsepower.My fuel mileage is better in the Hemi than the 4.7,with the bigger engine and more horses my engine isn't working as hard. I just have to get use to the pedal, truly my dream truck!!!

I got the truck at 7000 miles, and have loved it ever since. My satisfaction only improved once I had dual flowmasters installed on it. My wife loves it on trips, but hates me driving, because i like to use the HEMI power. This is the first vehicle I have ever owned that she prefers to ride in over her 4cyl car.

this is my second dodge truck, had a 1977 dodge power wagon, am still impressed with the durability, no nonsence attitude of this model vehicle. the fit & finish is high, no rattles or vibrations. absolutely love this truck!

Strong truck easy to drive and handle. Performance 2nd to none with the hemi. Smooth shifting auto-trans, solid ride, and very capable 4X4. Interior components solid, not shaky like my Fords wiggly windows or my GM's flimsy interior parts or mushy seats. Best truck on the road for the money today!

I really like this truck. It doesn't have the best mileage, but worth it. It is light in the back but okay. Overall this is a great truck.

With a slightly modified '96 RT/10 already nestled in my garage, I didn't expect the truck to rival its performance. It doesn't. After all, it's hauling around nearly a ton more in curb weight. But this baby is plenty quick and fun to drive. It's thirsty at 10.3 mpg, about what I get from the RT/10 under reasonably normal (?)driving conditions. Bottom line - it's nice to have an "almost" Viper with electric windows, good air conditioning, a radio you can hear, and a truck bed for the golf clubs.
I LOVE THIS TRUCK!

If you are looking for a GREAT truck then the Dodge Ram is PERFECT. Rides great, looks great in and out. So if you are looking for a new truck, then this is PERFECT.

I've had this truck for 8 months, and I've enjoyed her. I've added a CD player and subwoofer, having a camper top (bought her with it) helped when moving home at end of college year. I'm a big guy (6'2") and I fit perfectly in the driver seat, the white faced gauges are easy to see/read. The lack of shelving behind the seats were a dissappointment, so i built some of my own. The 4.7L at times seems underpowered but gets the job done satisfactorally. All and all, she is a great truck.

This truck is awesome. I think you need to get the 20's if you get anything. Powerful, sharp looking and fun to drive. I just got my first ticket so watch the speedometer.

The 5.7 hemi is awsome for towing or heavy loads but gas mileage is awful! The truck rides unblievably good, light or loaded and its ashort wheel base!

We love our Dodge Hemi! We have driven tthroughthe rough desert terrain, and pulled horses with it. We love how roomy the interior is; We eat our food on the huge arm between us, like as if it were a table, when we are on the road. We think it is the toughest loking, that actually performs up to its appearance!

Was very disappointed with this truck when the highway mileage claim for the Hemi 5.7 was 18 and the actual was closer to 13. The steering feels like there isn't enough caster. Go across a railroad crossing a little fast and you will think its all about to end. The interior is nice as long as you dont have to sit on the seats. Mine is the Laramie and the seats are hard and not comfortable. Had a power steering line blow and had to wait a week for a part. This was my first new Chrysler product and also my last. The engine is powerful but with that kind of fuel mileage I would expect Viper performance.

ever since i could remember, i always looked forward to my dad bringing home a new ford truck, every couple years. i too, bought fords in the past, but then decided, i didnt need something so big and the ranger was too small, so i looked at the dakota.after 3 strong years without a single problem, we bought a camper and we started looking at the big trucks again.i just couldnt seepaying the ford price, i looked at the new ram and fell in love! especially for the deal we got. later, after buying our 4 door 4x4 with the hemi, the new ford came out. glad i went with the dodge. the ford is smaller and less powerful and still costs way too much.
