Scat Pack = NASCAR For The Street For 40k

All I can say is WOW! I researched this car forever! Finally got one I had my eye on as they closed out 2016 inventory. Driving this thing can be insane but also subdued for daily driving but always ready to ROAR into action. Mine is black and due to it's appearance most people think I'm a cop and move out of the way, it's awesome, no speeding tickets yet with 6000 miles on it after 3 months (I can't help but drive this thing, it's Charger after all, not a Bentley). Cruising in this 4,400 lb monster at 90 mph is very easy to do on a smooth freeway, feels the same as most cars at 55mph. It begs to go fast! Pros: mad acceleration and absolutely amazing soundtrack to go with it (neighbors who like quiet may not be your biggest fan after you purchase this car), people will stare at you in this car (maybe they think it's a Hellcat), good tech inside, base Alpine sound system is decent, 20 inch wheels are sick, drive feel is simply great. Cons: gas mileage is bad (go figure with 392 Hemi and 485 horses - I get average 19 mpg), premium fuel required, super premium synthetic oil recommended (prob $125-150 at most shops every 6,000 miles with tire rotation needed also), visibility is not great (just look twice). This car is simply amazing, after reading this post go and get you one!!!!!

I love my new 2016 Charger

I love this car. I bought the SXT with the blacktop package in granite pearlcoat color and love it. It's roomy for my kids and they love the car too. I was really surprised how good this car is on gas considering its a V6 with plenty of power. The rebates were good. I'm very happy with my purchase.

2016 Dodge Charger R/T Road and Track 4dr Sedan (5.7L 8cyl 8A)

I traded in a 2012 R/T Plus for this 2016 R/T with Road and Track package. The Road and Track package literally turns this into a different car. Two different cars, really. You get two drive modes. Normal drive mode which I call "grandpa mode" is great when you're driving your mother in law to the hair salon. Or taking clients out to lunch. Or whatever. For more entertainment value, there's Sport drive mode. Power steering sensitivity, traction control, shift speed, etc., are customizable in both modes via touch screen. So basically, you get two cars for the price of one. Which is great. You can opt for the Scat Pack, SRT8 or Hellcat if you want to spend more. For the extra money, you get higher levels of performance and/or refinement and all three of those also have customizable drive modes, though they tend to always feel more "sport mode" all the time. If you want a car that feels like a "grown up" car when you want it to, but also can be fun... I don't think you can beat a Charger with the Road and Track package. I will also say that in the last 4 years, though the interior of the car aesthetically hasn't drastically changed, it definitely has improved in a number of small ways. Anyway... yeah. I'd recommend it. Update two years later: Still recommend it.

Love my Charger! 80000 miles and averaging 30mpg combined since I usually avoid traffic. Dodge did this one right, all though I prefer the 2014 exterior better the 2016 model is very aggressive and sporty looking. I have had nothing but good with this car so far.

2016 Dodge Charger SRT 392 4dr Sedan (6.4L 8cyl 8A)

I LOVE my SRT 392 . It's my daily ride and I've owned it around seven months. Too date, ownership has been trouble free. The 392 Hemi is very strong and along with the eight speed transmission does a good job getting this roughly 4500 pound car moving. If I behave, I can easily get 17 MPG around town which is better than my 2007 SXT 3.5 LTR AWD Charger got. Mileage or the increased cost of car insurance were never even considered in my decision to order this car. I've always loved performance cars and had a 69 340 GTS Dart when I was 16 and to this day still own a 69 340 Dart Swinger. My car is heavily optioned and is painted in Crystal Granite with black interior. The interior is beautiful and so much richer looking than my 2007 which had way too much plastic. My 2007 Charger had horrible blind spots and I could never see the back of the car when I was backing up. These are no longer issues for me in my 2016. The car looks fantastic with it's styling and the way it sits. The active exhaust is loud during start up but quiets down when the RPM drops. There of course some give and takes. No more pulling up to a parking lot cement block unless you want to tear up your front fascia. Curbs can also be real mean to those 20" hyper forged wheels. I even had to find another car wash for the winter months because this car does not have enough ground clearance for some automatic cars washes. I gave up an AWD vehicle for a RWD vehicle and we're just getting into winter along with snow where I live. This is a daily driver which is one reason I didn't want a Hellcat but seeing I'm retired I can stay home if the snow is too deep or borrow my wife's Grand Cherokee. After four years of ownership I continue to remain very happy with this vehicle. It really looks sharp in the color Crystal Granite and can still pass for a new car due to the care I give it. There has been no factory recalls and I had to bring it in for warranty service on one occasion when the A/C quit working. The one big change for me is that I've changed my mind and it's time for a Hellcat. I'm very happy with the 392 Hemi but as expected I want more. I was going to purchase a 2019 and ran the numbers with the dealer but held off because I couldn't let this car go at that time but now I'm ready. In the early part of 2020 after winter I'll return to the dealer and run the numbers again. I'm pretty sure I'll stay with the Charger because I love the looks and size. The Hellcat will continue to be my daily driver all year long. I'll save my winter tires and wheels that I purchased for my 392 Charger for those Chicago winters and use them on the new car. Going forward my plan right now is to keep the Hellcat for around two years which will put me at seventy years old. Maybe I'll have grown up by then!
