Great All Around but Best In Town

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring L 4dr Minivan (3.6L 6cyl gas/electric plug-in hybrid EVT)

All of the minivans out there have something they are best at. Honda is the best driving minivan by far. Kia is brand new but looks promising. Toyota is now very good all around and with the hybrid it's almost unbeatable. However, Chrysler's Pacifica Hybrid packs a trick no other van does... It can run on electric only!! Oh yeah.. you might also get a huge tax rebate!! Anyway, we bought ours a couple of weeks ago and we love it so far. We came from a Kia Sedona SXL which was very nice, but had terrible gas mileage and wasn't as solid as the others. However, the Kia was very reliable through 70k miles. A few years before that we had a 2016 Pacifica S which we really liked... but just wanted a change. Anyway, the Pacifica Hybrid is fantastic all around. What it does best is around town driving. If you have a short commute or just use the van as a grocery getter you can't go wrong. We plug ours in at night and it will go 30 miles no problem on a charge. You do have to be gentle on acceleration but not annoyingly so. If you can do that you may never put gas in it until the car tells you it needs to run the engine to keep it clean etc. We looked at the Sienna because the Toyota got better gas mileage overall, but you just can't beat the tax break and the EV drive around town. Now, on the road it's a different story. We took a trip to Chicago from St Louis... 5hrs drive time with stop. The wind was blowing against the car but not hard.. We drove 30 miles on EV and then again another 30 miles on EV the way back before we got gas... So with that we achieved 30.5 mpg. On the way back the wind was blowing super hard against the side of the car and the mileage was all on gas alone... It ended up at around 24.5 mpg. That's not good. However, it's about what every other minivan would have gotten in that situation. So, one thing is for sure. The van is very susceptible to wind pushing against it. I noticed that in calm weather on the highway you can get about 30 mpg.. but the slightest wind raises the rpms (or power meter). I imagine the Toyota probably does better in all highway driving. With that said, the Pacifica does a good job with everything else. Yes, the second row seats could slide for and aft a bit more... or be more comfortable, but it's not horrible. The driver's seat could be longer on the bottom but again, it's not bad. The infotainment system is fantastic. The fit and finish is also fantastic... it's not even in the same league as the older Kia was. The safety systems work great. However, the adaptive cruise control could be a bit smoother.... it does work well, though. Oh yeah... the price. by far the most affordable minivan of the bunch after rebates... but not even including the EV tax credit.. that's just a huge bonus if we actually get it lol... You can't go wrong with this minivan.

BEST THING EVER

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Pinnacle 4dr Minivan (3.6L 6cyl gas/electric plug-in hybrid EVT)

We've been waiting for a year for the 2021 with the upgrades to the technology and small redesigns and it is much better than expected. The Hybrid Drivetrain functions much better that our 2014 Prius v. What is not mentioned enough is that the EV motor will operate up to highway speeds until the battery is drained low. The interior comforts and technology is everything that you could ask for and more. The only time we've really heard the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) running is when the battery level dropped too low to run on its own. Other than that it is almost imperceptible to tell when the ICE is engaged outside of hard acceleration. There are no noises from the CVT. The looks of the van are stunning inside and out. I recommend getting the sunroofs, to add light into the van. We opted for the 2021Pacifica Hybrid Pinnacle, so the trim, headliner, and carpets are black, which helps with kids, but the sunroofs bring light inside without worries of the interior staining. The $7500 tax rebate gives hou a free hybrid for the regular gas only version. Chrysler's 0% financing + $3,750 Chrysler Rebates (another $2k if you don't use 0% financing) + $1k Chrysler Incentive for signing up for emails made the purchase a rather easy negotiation. The Rebates & Special Financing expire 2/1/2021 unless Chrysler brings it back. So don't wait, as supply is low and demand is very high. Our only problem is that we could get the van in tax year 2020. But don't rely only on my word, take a test drive and be blown away!

Battery NOT ENGAGING! Averaging 24MPG

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited 4dr Minivan (3.6L 6cyl gas/electric plug-in hybrid EVT)

Our vehicle used to average 44MPG battery and engine. Now I sometimes can drive 50 miles and still have a 100% battery charge left. Also, sometimes my vehicle has high regeneration and other days it doesn't register any regeneration. Some days it doesn't use any battery. A computer issue? Help? The dealer says that because there's NO CODE the car is running fine and there's nothing they can do! Update June 22, 2022 still having intermittent mechanical issues however, warmer weather has apparently made my battery performance better. If you live in Arizona or someplace constantly above 60' then you can receive yhe expected gas mileage. Don't drive it during winter months so you can achieve good gas mileage? In our case we would only be able to drive it 5-6 months! Love it but the mechanical issues and low gas mileage have me worried about the safety and long term performance of this vehicle.

Great Multipurpose Vehicle

This vehicle has been great so far. It is very quiet inside the vehicle and is very smooth. There is plenty of storage space, especially with all the seats stowed. The new, large screen for Uconnect and all the available services (Apple CarPlay, Navigation, SiriusXM, etc) is easy to read and easily accessed. The 360 degree Surround View Camera provides great situational awareness. Overall, I have been very happy with the Chrysler Pacifica so far.

By far this is one of the best minivans out there. The sto and go seats are alone one of the best features you can get. On other vans trying to get the heavy seats out and then to get them back in is a real pain. Everything on this vehicle is great. Heated steering wheel and heated seats are a plus in Chicago, plus remote start, what more do you need. So many features on this, you need to go see for yourself.
