Used 2014 Chevrolet Volt Consumer Reviews
The Finest Car I've Ever Owned. 8.5 years
Quick but silent, handles like a dream, terrific sound system. I don't drive the hell out of it (I had a 2002 Volvo XC 70 for that). I bought this car new in 2014 and have been very impressed ever since. Sure, it's not a Tesla, but i've read ALOT about tesla and I am somewhat glad that I'm not that $pendy. The only failure was the A.C compressor. It leaked, so I didn't have climate control until it was replaced. I've read something online that claims that thru R&D of these cars, combined with the overall sales, each of these Gen 1 Volts cost over $200K to produce, so it's a supercar then.

My dream car
Onto year 6 with this car and I still love everything about it. I put 23k miles per year on it with my commute and the only reason I’m replacing it is for the carpool sticker. I wouldn’t even consider a different car if they still made this one. Why did they discontinue this?! Chevy, you broke my heart.

A Smooth Quiet Ride for 40 Miles
The Chevy Volt is a wonderful driving experience. It is smooth quiet and quick. The added battery mass gives the car a weight balance that lets it corner like it's on rails. After 40 miles the performance is the still great, but the quiet goes away when the gas engine starts charging the battery. This is an ideal car for daily short commutes within the electric range. The all electric battery range is from a low cold weather 25 miles to 50 miles in warm weather. After that using the gas engine allows a range of 400 miles. The few minor warranty issues, I had, were covered under the 8 year 80,000 mile Voltec warranty. The liquid cooled batteries have shown no degradation in the 5 years I've owned it. The Facebook Chevy Volt Owners Group indicates that my experience is typical, with one member claiming no degradation in range after 400,000 miles. The hatchback and folding rear seats allow you to carry some large loads. It also works well as a little camper, with rear seats folded, offering an air conditioned room with an electric plug in site. If you want the experience of driving a luxury electric vehicle, for a very low price, the Chevy Volt is for you.

VOLT FREEZER
The Heater does not work when the electric system is on. when the gasoline system goes on, then the heater works, by now I have drove 32 miles in a FREEZER. this has been a very cold winter I leave my home at 4:00 am so you can imagine. I wish someone at the dealership would of told us of this not well design system before we purchase the VOLT FREZER!!!!
