2025 Chevrolet Traverse Consumer Reviews

Mean looking SUV that looks more like a truck
Man, Chevrolet just hit it out of the park with this one. The redesigned 2024 Traverse looks like a truck. Bigger than any other mid-sized SUV, more space compared to all midsize SUVs, best looking mid sized SUV. Everything is grand and big. Very comfortable seats. Engine is 4-cyl with turbo and works adequately. Will make a sound when accelerated or pushed hard but not a deal breaker. The infotainment system/screen and tech is amazing. Rear view camera, park assist, 360 degree camera. Ambient lighting. Mind blown! My first American car after having 4 japanese cars (3 Mazdas and 1 Suzuki) and 1 German (BMW). I am amazed. Hopefully this wont break because I am hearing complaints about failed transmission from some Z71 AWD twin clutch vehicles. I get an average of about 22 in city and 28 on the highways. Wish there was a hybrid option but then I remembered Toyota Grand Highlander has a stop sale on their models. Honda pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade doesn't have as of writing this review in Sep 2024. Mazda CX-90 was my other choice but it has no space in the 3rd row and behind the 3rd row. This traverse a decent sized adult can easily fit in the 3rd row. The steering wheel is so thick and suspension very soft. Comfortable for families who love some flare!

Almost Perfect
We have just over 2000 miles on our RS, which is our third Traverse. We drove from Illinois to Houston, and I will say that super cruise is one of those things that you didn't you needed until you got it. It makes interstate driving much less tiring and I think safer as it allows you to better monitor what is going on around you. The tech is great. I can just say the destination and away we go, no punching in addresses. My one gripe is the tailgate. The kick was so much better. The new gate is not hands free to close, which is when you really need it. And you need to stay away from the back of the car if you have the key and you don't want the tailgate to open. Also, the driver screen could be better designed. But most importantly the car swallows cargo like nothing else.

It’s a Beautiful Beast!
I have driven 1800 miles in luxury! Its turning radius is spectacular, no complaints especially since I I’ve in the Country and depend on making sharp turns and when I’m in the city; the U-turn is a breeze. I have the 2nd row captain seating with three car seats and I don’t have to scrunch down to get my grandchildren safely in the car. I enjoy the Auto Powered Headlights especially on the County roads. The Safety features make me feel as if I have a full level of security while driving and while entering and exiting. This SUV replaces a 2020 Acadia which gives me AWD, more room, a taller vehicle, smoother drive and its efficiency is by far the best.! The 9 speed with 5,000 towing capacity is all we need and more. It’s so quiet to drive and the Super Cruise and Cruise Control are impressive. For a woman not wanting to give my SUV permission to drive itself was a game changer. I never thought in a million years that this clutch driver would ever allow a car to drive me anywhere let alone with anyone else in my vehicle-so that’s why I ask my passengers if it’s alright for me to use this feature before I just start driving without hands on the wheel. The first time using it was just by myself and I was amazed on how reactive to the vehicle spacing, speed control and fluid control this vehicle was capable of driving. The second time using it was when I was taking my 30 year old daughter and her 8 year old daughter and I asked my daughter, “Honey do you remember watching The Jetsons” and how they would fly in the air to drive around but all they had to do was push a few buttons?” Well, is it okay to drive you and your daughter without hands?” So, 3 generations of women had a blast watching the car do what it was meant to do…drive safely, with caution and ease. The safety features are a plus. The comfortability is superb, my fuel economy is 28 city/30-32 Hwy. the heated steering wheel is very nice on the cooler mornings, and the storage is just what we need; whether if it’s with the seats all up or the third row is down and yes, we’ve put a double air mattress in the back with the two rows down and slept well. I like having both the manual and touchscreen availability for comfort control, gearing controls and radio too. Bose radio included. Honestly, the only con I have found is not one single thing. Bravo Chevrolet! This Z71 looks like a Tahoe and drives so smooth. I love it and so does our family!

Buyers beware!!!
The redesign of this truck is what brought us towards it. Spent an Arm on a 24 RS which we loved for about 3 weeks. After that, where do I even start, I’ve only made 2 payments on this car and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. The transmission blew with only 900 miles on it ruining my driveway. It leaked the entire transmission while parked over night. The car has needed 3 alignments in the 2 months of ownership along with some dealership mistakes with scratches and rim rashes. With 1600 miles on it, supercruise took me off the side of the highway and disengaged almost sending me into the woods at 70 mph. On top of that the car went into break assist merging onto the highway coming to a complete stop from 50 almost causing another major accident. GM has offered me 400 gm points for my inconvenience while having my truck almost have the of the time I’ve owned the car. I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy. Between my family and my wife’s we have owned upwards of 30 gm products which I don’t think I will ever purchase another one after this experience.

Traverse Z71 is a HUGE WIN for GM/Chevrolet!
I had been following the development and finally the release of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71. This vehicle is everything that GM/Chevrolet has promised it to be! I was especially attracted to it's newly redesigned rugged styling, mine has skid plates as well as tow hooks. This vehicle rides well on long distance trips, has comfortable seating, as well as a PHENOMINAL Super Cruise option which basically drives the vehicle for you! I also love my panoramic sun/moonroof with the electronically retracting shade. The Traverse rides well in the city and everyday traffic driving. Everywhere that I've driven this vehicle, people have inquired about "what type of vehicle is this?" The power from the new 4 cylinder turbo engine was surprising, despite what critics had been saying in the comments on various GM/Chevrolet forums. I've had my Radiant Red Tintcoat Z71 for a little over a month now and I'm still enjoying it so far. I was initially suffering from sticker shock but now feel that I've definitely made a great decision in purchasing this vehicle.

To be or not to be
Like: 1. Looks 2. Ride and handling 3. Interior design Don Like: 1. Noisy engine 2. Transmission shift pattern 3. Lack of some tech functionality that was expected 4. Paddle shifters that does not function as paddle shifters 5. Higher fuel consumption than second generation

Computer from hell!
Three days after taking delivery the vehicle stopped communicating with the key fob. The best part is that when this happens, you cannot put the transmission in neutral which means unless you lift it (difficult if it is in a garage) you cannot move the vehicle without damaging the vehicle. GM was unable to offer any useful information or assistance. Once it was at the dealership, they were unable to provide any information. They rebooted the computer (an all-day process) and got it back on the road. Two months later, it has happened again. Again GM/Chevy have no clue as to the cause and are unable to offer anything other than an apology. DO NOT PURCHASE A 2025 TRAVERSE until and unless they are able to fix their computer problem.

Mean looking with amazing technology.
We purchased the RS a month ago and absolutely love this vehicle. They only criticism is there are so many bells and whistles it's a bit overwhelming at times. The engine is a little whiny on acceleration, but nothing of concern. The 2nd and 3rd rows are extremely roomy and comfortable. We have two kids and my mother in law rides with us often and they love it. So far there's nothing I would consider a flaw, but like I stated earlier, we've just purchased the vehicle a month ago. I will reevaluate in a few more months.

Looks great but junk
Owned the Z71 traverse for 4 months and have already been in the shop multiple times. If you do not use 89 octane or higher it will develop a stutter after an hour or so on the road, and guess what, Chevy doesnt tell you that. AC has gone out 2 times. Head rests on the 3rd row will not collapse when you let the 3rd row down so now those are being replaced. When the AC was being fixed the 2nd time they discovered that the screws in the turbo had been stripped out so it was only a matter of time before the turbo was going to be an issue. Would really love to have my toyota sienna back or my money at this point. Dont buy a chevy unless it comes on a truck frame!!!
Missing my 2021 traverse
While the 2024 traverse may be more eye catching, it certainly is smaller than my 2021 RS model. Larger than the competition, maybe. But the size of the previous generation was perfection. I thoroughly regret purchasing the 2024 traverse. I have 2 car seats in the the 2nd row. The leg room is definetley smaller, I cannot fold the 3rd row all the way down without moving up the 2nd row seats, therefore making the leg room even tighter in the 2nd row. The 3rd row is much tighter than the previous generation, and trunk space not as adequate either. While riding in the passenger seat, i feel slightly chlostrophobic. With that being said, that is the least of my concerns, as the car has a water leak that causes the front row and 2nd row floor boards to get wet when it rains, and my dealership is less than helpful and cannot fix the issue. Im now starting to hear a knocking sound coming from the engine, and there has already been 2 recalls on the vehicle. Ive had it for 6 mos. Do better chevy.
Great so far
I purchased my traverse in early June of this year and so far I'm really impressed. Roomy... comfortable... easy to drive.. and it's not to flashy but looks nice... I have the midnight edition so the black on black makes it even more eye catching!! Would definitely recommend

2025 Chevy Traverse
Nice car but Transmission issues. 1st issue, at 1200 miles was a leaky transmission. Cause was 19 bolts were not tightened to spec. GM fixed in . On the way home from the fix- broke on I-10 between Tucson and phx. In shop for 3 weeks and the fix was replacing a boatload of parts and the pump. Hope this fixes my trans issues going forward

Best Ever!!
This new Traverse is fantastic. From the beautiful upgraded style outside to the moment you sit inside, you feel confident and comfortable. The motor, the changing of gears, the seats, the dashboard, and even the storage area in the rear is wonderful. Comfort and style is what this Traverse says! Only two drawbacks I encountered. I wish they had kept the storage on the center dash. I know the new dashboard takes up room, but perhaps the storage could be moved over to the side. The second drawback was nearly a deal breaker. I had a true entertainment center in my last Traverse. Pull down screen and a DVD player for the whole rear area to watch. IPads are not for everyone. And the pull down screen was sooo much easier. All in all I’m happy.

Sexy Red
So far we're well pleased. The third row is comfortable for adult seating. It's a great replacement for the now no longer produced Ford Flex.

Great Vehicle
This vehicle is truly great and well worth the investment. Currently, it's impossible to find a comparable 7-seater SUV on the market for $40,000. I'm absolutely loving it!
