Most fun I've ever had with a car
I leased my car 1 year ago and still love it. I've said for some time that my only regret is that I only got one of them. So, about a month ago I got 2 more, one for my wife and one for my daughter, and they both love them too. My only complaint is that it has too much power and you can get into trouble if you aren't careful. It rides okay for a small car, but not great like a long heavy car. The range is much more than I normally need (up to about 100 miles) and I do have a gas powered vehicle for longer trips, but it rarely gets used now. The cost of the electricity is about 2 cents per mile.

I loved my spark.....until
Update: Awhile back I had an issue with replacing a tire. After being told by the dealer that it was going to take 5-6 weeks to get a tire, I went online and bought one, and got it in the mail! Yes! I took it over to the dealer, who told me THEY DIDN'T HAVE MY CAR! I had to walk the lot to find my car. Turns out they had me in the system twice. Not really confidence- inspiring! I got the tire put on and was once again rolling the HOV lane with glee. HOWEVER.....several months later I was sideswiped on the highway by a large SUV. I immediately lost control of the car, veered off into another lane, hit a car, rolled onto the shoulder, ran over a signpost...I thought we were gonna die. Good news - no one was hurt. Did you know that there are knee air bags? Every air bag deployed, and we were shook up but basically unharmed. Sadly, my little car was no more. Onstar called the police and they towed it away. My new car is a Volt. No more range anxiety!

Love this car!
I've only had this car a week, so down the line I might sing a different tune, but I love this car! Prior to this car, my main car was a 2001 Honda Accord. I wanted to downsize to a compact and had promised myself that I would get a new car this summer. The problem was, after a testing quite a few cars, my favorite drive was always my Accord...until I drove the Spark EV. This car is so fun to drive! Where the Prius C slugged along and had no pick-up and go when needed. The Spark EV flies when I need speed. I'm easily getting more than the 82 mile charge range. Be aware that the $2500 California Rebate seems to be coming to an end and a quicker charging model will be coming out in November.
Very compitent vehicle all around
I am driving this car for almost two moths now and only got a bit over 1000 miles on it because I do have another vehicle(s) to drive when I have to be concerned with range. I belong to one of the electric vehicle forums and pretty much everyone there, describes their relationship to this car in one word - Love! I have researched all electric cars available on the market at the moment and this one was a hands down winner for me. So far my expected range of miles to be driven keeps increasing, this morning it said that I have 103 miles to drive, so in my opinion the rating of 82 miles of range is very conservative, unless you a lead footed. My June power bill went up $38 v last year's.
Spark EV
Read the comparative C&D review of all electrics that rated Spark #1, then bought it three years ago, it is a blast, fast, great handling, amazing interior space given tiny outside (I am 6-3). 100 miles T 55, 85 miles range at 65, fast freeway trip at 75 to 80, range drops to 65 or so. Why doesn't Chevrolet push this car, it is excellent value with fed rebate, a modern day VW bug. Based on the Spark I bought a Bolt, my son drives the Spark, he loves it.

Reduce your CO2 emissions by 3/4, save big money
This car is all electric and is rated at an 82 mile range before you have to re-charge. Even though it is equipped with DC quick charge capability (80% charge in 20 minutes) with this range it is still a city car. If you live where there is winter, the range drops in cold weather but then climbs back up in the Spring. When it was highs of 20-30F here for a few weeks the range got down to 51 miles. Range climbs to close to 100 miles in the heat of the summer. Charging with your standard 120v outlet in your garage at the 12 amp setting takes less than 12 hr. You can cut that time in half or better by buying a 240v charger and getting a 240v outlet installed (or using your clothes dryer outlet if convenient). It is rated at 128 mpge, the most efficient production car in the world in 2015! Here in the clean power PNW it produces the equivalent pollution (from electrical power plant generation) of a 95 mpg gas car (UCS study). Compared to a 25 mpg gas car at $2.80/gallon for gas, and with PNW electric rates it also saves you over $1000 for every 10,000 miles driven in fuel costs. Maintenance costs are miniscule compared to a gas car, check a few fluids and tire pressure, and go for 10s of thousands miles. There's nothing else in the maintenance schedule! The regenerative brakes do most of the braking so disc brakes last forever. 140 hp and 400 ft/lbs torque - faster than any of my gas cars. 8yr, 100,000 mile warranty on the battery and electrical components. The battery has proven very long lasting - no worries. Every family should have one as a 2nd car for commuting. I have owned this car for 3.5 years now and am still very pleased. I have saved several thousand dollars on fuel and maintenance costs, and the only problem is the AC went kaput (idiot light on dash). I never used it and now that I think about it, there is little need with an electric motor in front of you that generates no significant heat as opposed to a very inefficient ICE which puts 75% of the energy into heat production. I still have one ICE car and this morning I had to clean up the oil on the garage floor from my recent oil change from where it leaked out of the trash bag from the used oil filter. ICE cars yuck!! Need to replace that with an EV! Over four years and still going strong and spending 2 cents/mile for electric fuel. Currently I spend 14 cents/mile for fuel with my 25mpg gas, road trip car. Do the math - save $1200 in 10,000 miles of driving. Yep, still need to replace that gas guzzler with an EV - getting closer. One quirk with these cars that I will eventually have to deal with is that the front wheels and tires are a different size than the rears thus not interchangeable front to back (inexplicable).. Thus, one cannot do the usual tire rotation (front to back) to maximize, and equalize the wear on the tires. i.e., the front tires wear out much faster than the rear. Probably within the next 10,000 miles I will replace the front tires only. For maintenance, I have spent a total of only $15 for windshield wiper blades and $100 for the 12V battery replacement in four years. We live in a hilly/mountainous region and there is always trepidation when I take the car to climb a significant grade (500 ft or more). However, in a eight mile trip up to a trailhead on Moscow Mountain it may show as much as 30 miles of range use to get up there, but on the way back I actually generate range with the regenerative braking and end up having used only about 16 miles of range for the whole trip. In other words it evens out on the return trip. The car now has about 24,000 miles on it and its lifetime efficiency is 5.3 miles/kWh. If you do the math this translates to 179 mpgE. It goes 179 miles on the equivalent amount of energy that is in a gallon of gasoline. EPA rated it at 128 mpgE city. Others have observed the same efficiency with this car as I have. I have no idea why this is but its certainly not something to complain about!

Great for driving 30 miles daily
I've had this car for a little over 4 years with about 63k miles on it. Besides having one small problem where the 12 volt battery died for no reason it has worked great but milage isnt the best since the best I can get is about 72 miles on it now.

Spark EV 2LT
I leased the Spark EV in Feb 2014 and it's a secondary car and I travel about 30 miles roundtrip to and from work and this is on freeways mostly and I travel at about 70mph. No issues getting up to speed in fact I often catch up to the cars in front. I've come to really enjoy the quiet ride. Once home I usually have about 58 miles of range left, I charge with a level 1 charger at 12amps which is fine for me. I did get a Level 2 charger for free from Bosch but haven't used it yet. I would recommend driving this vehicle in mixed driving and see how you like it. Range will be impacted if you live or commute over a lot of hills.
Spark plug
After 45,000 miles the Spark is still a blast to drive. Most economical car on the road. Not just the most economical EV. Mine is a 2014 LT (DC fast charger a must for me) My tops is 540 miles in a day...4 DC fast charges. Quick , agile...It is small but at 6ft 3 I can stretch my legs out..It really is the VW Bug of the 21st century but GM makes more money on the gas Spark so they stopped it. What a shame...90 mile range in fall and spring. 30 to 40 % less in extreme heat and cold. If I can get a replacement battery pack that gets me 150 mile range I will keep this Spark EV forever..

Little Dynamo!
You can't beat the performance of this car for the price. Especially if you live in CA where you can get an extra $2500 rebate. I love the acceleration on this thing and the instant torque. I must say it encourages aggressive driving because you know you have the power on tap to pass others where you couldn't with your typical Corolla/Civic/Sentra. The interior screams budget car, but it feels surprisingly spacious for the front passengers given its claustrophobic appearance from the outside. The car stands tall so it gives you the feeling of being in a small SUV. I like how it gives great forward visibility (rear visibility is pretty lousy though due to the large rear pillars and it's too bad it doesn't have a rear view camera).
