H.D Diesel
I have only had this truck for a week and I already love it. After filling up the first time I averaged 17.5 mpg. Thats better than my 5.3 Chevy not to mention the addition of a 4x4. It rides firm but not harsh. The only thing that would make a nice change is a nicer interior similar to dodge. The allison 6 speed electronic transmission... whew, when coming down steep grades the tranny holds speed to give the most secure feel . Going uphill the engine has enough torque to hold max gear and not shift down. So far so good.....
2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ 4dr Extended Cab 4WD
I have over 10,000 miles on my gas truck now. I average around 13 to 14 in town and 18 at 70 mph(I'm 56 years old). I pulled a 5000 lb sailboat from Texas to Georgia at 60 and 65 and got 13 miles per gallon. I purchased the 2500 over the 1500 because of price. Between the factory rebate and the credit union rebate the price came in at $10,000 less than the 1500. Something very noticeable is the difference in the power (and it sounds good). I average 5000 miles a year on the trucks I have owned. So the fuel economy doesn' really concern me. A little stiff ride but it is a 2500 4x4. The interior is very comfortable and well built.

The Beast
Out of all my trucks that I have owned this has got to be the best built, best handling and most comfortable one yet. Chevy has shined on this one. Their isn't a foreign truck in the world that will compete with this American made machine. Tows like a dream...at times I forget there is a racing trailer behind me. Well done Chevy!
Love this truck
Got a used 2011 2500HD 4x4 6.0L with about 110,000 miles. Smoothest ride I’ve ever felt in a truck!! Drives comfortably and great cabin space. So happy with this truck!!

Unbeatable value and great fuel mileage with 6.6
I bought this truck used from Texas with 187,200 miles on it. It now has 342,050 miles and still runs great. This is my 3rd 3/4 ton Duramax and I will buy another. I pull a 10,000 boat and can't tell it's behind me, due to the torque of this motor and the Allison 6 speed tranny. After a couple of light mods and new injectors I'm averaging 20.4 mpg as a daily driver running 75mph on the freeway. Other than the driver aside door handle coming apart, the interior has held up very well and is well appointed with every option you could want in a truck, although it would have been nice to have A/C vents in the back for the rear seat passengers.

Should have bought one a long time ago
This rig was built for towing. Unbelievable. When towing my RV trailer through west/central Texas hill country, the Allison transmission down shifts and keeps my RPM within 200 rpm. It never struggles, maintains excellent fuel economy. When towing my off road jeep on my 16' trailer is effortless. I have even taken my traction control off and spun the tires of asphalt pavement while accelerating. 660 ft/lb torque is strong!
Finally pulled the trigger!
I just purchased my 2009 LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab with the Duramax diesel engine and this thing is great. I love everything about this truck except: As others have said it needs bigger wheels. Fuel mileage not as good as the older Duramax, thanks to Uncle Sam! Nerf Bars should come standard on a $55k vehicle and not an option. Other than that, no complaints. My primary reason for owning it is to pull my 8k lb boat which it should have no problem. The styling inside and out is fantastic. The Bluetooth for my phone, excellent! The audio system sounds great. The seating is comfortable. Finally, I love the remote start on cold mornings! Thanks Chevrolet for building a great truck.
My 2500HD Duramax
This is the first pickup I've had in a while and I love it. Great performance. I was a little disappointed in the beginning with my fuel economy but now that I have about 8000 miles on it I am getting about 20- 21 mpg on the highway and about 14-15 mpg in town. When towing I don't even notice my travel trailer behind me anymore. The Allison transmission is great too. My only regret is that I didn't hold out for a leather interior because I expect to keep this truck for a long time.
Victory Red LTZ in Alaska
LTZ with the 6.0L Vortec and 8' box. Great engine; plenty of power. Sounds awesome. I am averaging 15 MPG in mixed driving (mostly highway) 6 speed automatic makes driving and towing easy. capacious cargo box. Very comfortable and plush interior. High quality materials instead of the hard plastics used in previous models. Were it up to her, my wife would be driving it instead of me.
6 liter gas
Very poor gas mileage, average 11 mpg, transmission constantly shifting into passing gear to catch up on a very low incline or small head wind
