Good Cars With a Few Issues
Overall, I think Chevy Cobalts are good cars. The issues they have are similar to ones the Cavalier had, which are a cheap front suspension which will most likely require a few repairs, and a few safety issues, namely side crash test scores (poor without side curtain airbags). I would recommend getting a 2008-2010 Cobalt if you are concerned about the side crash test scores because they automatically came with side curtain airbags as a standard feature. It's possible that an 05-07 could have gotten them as an option, but most likely not. The Cobalt is a solid, attractive car that gets good gas mileage. Reliability is pretty good. If you do buy any year Chevy Cobalt, make sure you check that it has had the recalls taken care of, as all Cobalts were subject to a few recalls pertaining to the ignition/steering column. These cars have a smooth enjoyable ride but if you go over a raised bump you will definitely feel it, and do your best to avoid bumps as the front suspension is somewhat fragile in my opinion. I have noticed that the Cobalts have really good body integrity--usually even the 10 year old Cobalts still look good with no rust or bumpers falling off, etc. UNLIKE the Cavalier, which tend to fall apart piece by piece unless they are babied. A few random cons for the Cobalt are: Trunk is hard to open, and lid is heavy; mouth of trunk is too small to take in larger items that might otherwise fit; backseat is very cramped with little legroom so plan on anyone other than a child or dwarf hating it. All in all, I might consider buying another of these cars if it had the features and appearance I wanted on one.

Chevy Cobalt Lil Red
We purchased this vehicle after having driven a rental vehicle of the same type for a month. We were pleased with the way the rental drove, and have been equally pleased with the purchased vehicle. We havc a five on the floor tranny and it is a great deal of fun to drive. The gas mileage has been much better than we expected, running over 30 MPG for most of our driving which includes city, highway and rural driving.
The best car I have owned in a long time
This car is a whole lot of fun all around. I think it is best on roads that have a lot of curves. The ride is a lot better then I expected.
Chevy Cobalt, a true value
For the money, the power, build, and fuel economy it is just as good if not better than any import. Kudos to GM for this vehicle. And as a former Honda, BMW, Mercedes owner I'm not just saying that. GM is again an entry level leader.
Cobalt
Roomy and comfortable car with a large trunk. Low exterior noise. Window handle and seat belt keeper need to be of better quality.
Overall decent car, but easy to love.
I bought my Cobalt brand new in 2005, so I'm sure by now Chevy has tuned the model up some. But overall it is a decent car. I would have tried to get rid of it but they do grow on you. The ride is good and the handling is great. You would expect fuel economy to be better from a 4-cyl. though. The worst parts about it are the interior design and room. The backseat isn't comfortable or roomy at all and the trunk opening is tight. Headlights are average and on long drives it can get uncomfortable. Worth a look though.
Doesn't age well at all
My girlfriend has a 2007 cobalt with 140,000 miles and my mom has a ponitac G5 (same car different name) with 120,000 miles. I'm from Michigan, the rocker panels on both cars completely rusted out and is spreading to the underside of the car. The G5 timing chain caused it to need a new engine at 70,000 miles. The Cobalt needed a new timing chain too, I replaced it at home in the garage. the Cobalt burns a quart of oil every week and has had all kinds of suspension issues in the front end. The G5 is currently in the shop for an issue with the control arm bushings. They are cheap and have decent power for little cars, it's not worth it for the headache these cars will give you.

One of the lucky few
The Cobalt seems to have a lot of duds, judging by reviews. I guess I am one of the lucky few that got a good one. Every time I take it to a mechanic they tell me that it is in amazing condition. I bought mine new in 2007 and it has been my daily driver since. It has also been on many 16+ hour road trips and has been in minor accidents twice. I have never had a single mechanical issue and I have never had to do more than regular maintenance. Road noise can be a bit of an issue and the ride is a bit rough. Seats are not very comfortable at all, but they haven't worn out on me yet. I just started having issues with the dash rattling at 150,000 miles. The extras that come with the LT (level 2) are great, especially remote start, which I use every single day. This is not a car you can abuse. It is not something you can drive like a maniac and not maintain. When you consider the target audience for this car, that may be why they have so many issues. In my opinion $16,000 for a low maintenance car that lasts 9+ years without a single major issue is a good one.

Exactly What I Expected
I want to start this review by saying I absolutely love my Cobalt. Starting with the good, the car is quick for a 4 cylinder, rides smooth, has a great stock stereo system, easy and cheap to maintain, comfortable, and very reliable. It has never left me stranded. With all of that being said, I absolutely hate how cheaply everything was built. Everything that shouldn't move moves. The dome light lens rattles, the window cranks rattle with the radio on, the dash pieces move, and worst of all is the steering column. Everyone I've talked to has the same issue. It rattles between 55 and 75 mph and over bumps at low speeds; you replace the steering column, and it'll wear out again.
Still Reliable at >121,000 Miles
I bought this car new in Dec. 2007 and have put more than 121K miles on it. This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. Other than replacement of the recalled ignition switch and electric power steering motor; and a repositioning and splicing of the daytime running light harness at the radiator support and oiling of the HVAC fan, this car has had no other maintenance other than prescribed preventive service, which I do myself. Maintenance on this car is simple and not expensive.
I love it
I love this car! It is fun to drive. Handles great. Fuel mileage is pretty good too. I average 26.5 town/hwy and 31 on the freeways. The sound system in it is awesome too! Taking corners is awesome in this car. I think with a custom sway bar it would be better. All in all I love this car. The good outweighs the not so good. The few things I don't like is the emergency brake and the middle console are on top of each other, making the emergency brake difficult to access. Seems to have a bit of a lag in between some of the gears, and 1st is way too short.
Simply Amazed
After a lifetime of fast sports cars, I just totaled one, ouch!Decided I'd get a bare bones econobox for cheap insurance, to tide me over til the new Camaro debuts. After looking at all the others I picked the Cobalt. I love this car! Fun to drive, decent power and mileage, plus it looks great in Victory Red. Love the tail lights! Lowered it with Eibach SportLines, bigger rims/BFG T/A KDW's, spoiler, full tint, sheepskins. I'm gonna keep her as my daily driver after I get the Camaro. Highly recommended. Big bang for the buck ! Chevy, You won me back!
Wanna go fast for 4 grand?
Purchased this car in December of 2017 with 80k. It’s had some problems since, reverse lights don’t work, sunroof doesn’t work, speaker blew out, fan relay is going, steering wheel buttons don’t work for the most part, etc, (mostly interior problems) but the supercharger screams and is very fast for what you pay. Overall not a bad car it’s never broken down on me (knock on wood) but the performance is there.
Great Car
Looks great. Handles very well around corners. Good size engine, and a nice radio upgrade from the '06 to the '07 model. Only suggestion is to have better quality speakers. Other than that, a great car for a good price.
Naturally Aspirated Cobalt SS (65k to 85k)
What I really like about the car: The sound system hits hard, the steering is smooth and tight yet controllable at high speeds, the battery on this thing is amazing. I've left my key forward for hours and came back to it and it starts right up. You can use the cigarette charger to charge right from the battery. The car doesn't even need to be on! Why haven't my other cars done this!? Seriously good fuel efficiency! I fill up the tank for 21 dollars and i can drive hours on the highway and only go through a half tank! Its a fun little town car to be frank, and its good in the snow( and I mean really good). No slips or close calls all winter. You have clutch control! The back seats fold down for easy storage of fishing poles etc. The thing i can say is that there is rust building up in places but that worries me why? I've had to replace the clutch but now i'm better at driving manual so it won't happen for a very very long time. This car needs frequent oil changes , its just too sporty not to, and it drives much better after each oil change. I've also replaced the wipers for some reason they were broke. It's a great little car just make sure the one your buying lives to it's name....the COBALT> THanks.

10 years later and still rides like a champ
I bought this car new in May 2007, almost exactly 10 years ago. Besides the recalls, there was little need to do any repairs or take it into the dealer for the first 7 years/80k miles. This car has been extremely reliable even after 128k miles, hitting a deer, and sliding off of a snowy highway into a ditch (I was young and dumb, give me a break). I will admit that I am a DIYer so whenever a problem comes up with my car, and like I said there weren't many the first 7 years, I'm quick to replace any needed parts, so it runs about as well as the day I bought it. There have been no issues with the tranny (dropped pan and replaced fluid at about 100k miles), the brakes lasted me a very long time (replaced front brakes around 90k miles, back drum brakes around 125k miles), and had to do some front end work around 120k miles. It's still a very zippy car with paint that looks fresh, even in the rust belt. The only problem with the car worth noting right now is that the front driver side speaker doesn't work, which also means that I can't hear turn signals and notifications from the vehicle in general, but it's probably just a short that I'll get around to fixing. All in all, if you're looking for a reliable vehicles that will stay on the road if you take care of it, I think a Cobalt is a reasonable way to go.

Fun little car, but...
I've greatly enjoyed my 2007 cobalt. The manual transmission is surprisingly good, with a linear clutch and a stick with tight, short throws. It isn't quick, but it's got enough power to have a little fun and feel confident overtaking. Very economical if you drive with a light foot. Huge trunk it's size. For the price, there isn't much out there that looks as good as the cobalt coupe. However, I still have some gripes with the cobalt. The road and wind noise is deafening, the seats are uncomfortable, and it has poor high speed stability and braking. As is to be expected with GM cars, the interior materials are very cheap and build quality is poor. The base trim is laughably equipped for a 2007, not even coming with power locks, windows, mirrors, or cruise control. Rear leg and head room is hilariously bad, anyone larger than a child will be cramped sitting back there. I've been plagued by issues relating to the front end suspension. The front shocks are shot, as are the ball joints I replaced 6 months ago. I've gone through 3 sets of front tires as the front end keeps coming out of alignment despite multiple visits to the shop to remedy the problem. Looking at other reviews, I'm not the only one who's had trouble with the front end. If you plan on buying a cobalt I highly recommend having a mechanic inspect the suspension first. Other than those issues, my cobalt has proven to be very reliable. I've never had an issue with it failing to start or dying on me. The 2.2 i4 seems to be pretty tough, I've put 30,000 miles on it with one cylinder running at half the PSI it should be without any additional adverse effects. This car should have died long ago, but it just keeps on going. Repair and maintenance costs are very low if something does go wrong. The cobalt is a great package for the price. It looks good, the manual is fun to drive, and it's easy on the wallet. If you are planning on buying, make sure the front end is solid and avoid the base model as it is so poorly equipped.

This Car Rocks!
I find the car handles well, and picks up fast once you hit 3000 rpm. HP is actually a whopping 226! Outperforms a Corvette in the slalom and is kind of sexy in appearance. Watch out for potholes, because the car doesnt handle them well. I owned a '90 Z24 prior to the SS, and wow, what a step up! Keep up the good work GM! Look out imports and V8's!
This car got old in a hurry.
I bought this car new in January 2007. I liked it a lot, especially when gas was $5 a gallon in 2008 and within a week all the dealer lots were full of huge SUV's and no compacts were to be seen. Now it has 63000 miles on it and it's needed some work, especially the front-end (most of which is discussed in the "improvements" section). It was a very sensible car, and still is...but if you're not a DIY'ing shade-tree mechanic you'll be very disappointed with the early repair costs.
Not a bad little car.
Bought my '07 in '09 as a certified GM used vehicle with 33k miles, upped the warranty to 75k. At first, I was somewhat disinterested. Styling could stand to be less Cavalier-ey, but I needed something to get 25+ on the highway. During my tenure of ownership (through 2012) it performed flawlessly. I put almost 43k miles on it in 3 years, and while it was never an 'awesome' car, it far, far exceeded my expectations. Wife traded it for an Avenger, and the car sold before we even got the new car off the lot. I'll miss this one.
Great Ride!
I bought my 2007 Cobalt LS coupe in September of 2006 and I love it. The performance for the money ($12850) is mind blowing. The handling isn't too bad either. I can sling the passengers around and a tire never slips (not so much as a squak). Refined suspension and a fairly powerful (148 hp) stock engine make for one heck of a back road driving experience especially with the easy to operate 5-speed tranny! If stock isn't for you, don't worry, GM makes more than enough goodies for this car and if they won't do, think about it, this car is probably America's best compact car. Aftermarket companies are drooling right now!
Reliable and sporty
Bought used with 30,000. Put on 150,000 miles. We live in Montana and it winters well. Its gone through 3 brake jobs but no other repairs. Mpg on highway mid 30 mpg, less in winter. Not made for gravel roads which we live on. The wheels go out of balance easily with mud and dirt or snow build up. It's not a car for teaching kids to drive as the steering is a little too quick. Trunk is tight to get a cooler in. A small kids bike will go in. It's amazing in parking lots and great for quick acceleration to get on the freeway.
Just hit 254k miles...
Everyone I knew said, "don't get a Chevy". Well, here I am still loving my Cobalt, while they are on yet another Honda, looking forward to posting at 275. I have owned this car for over 10 years.

So far, so good
I purchased my 2007 Cobalt LS when it was approx. 1.6 yrs. old. I was very nervous about buying a NA car and it took me about twenty-five years to buy another one. So far, I've been very happy with my car. I'm very proud of it's appearance. I don't expect it to be completely problem free now, but so far I have just had the oil changed. The dealership has been very good to me. I'm okay with the standard door locks...less to go wrong...and I'm not in a hurry. If this one does well, I will buy another NA car. I love the way the back end of this car looks. For the money...it's been great.
Excellent car
I bought my 07 cobalt LS auto-trans in 09 with 40K miles as a bank repo. Today it has 105K. Ive never had to have major work done. The most expensive repairs have been the front wheel bearings 200-300. The passenger one went out a couple years ago and just now the drivers side is going. I've had quite a few wheel alignments but not in the past 2 years since took it back to the machanic since it was still out of alignment. The tires still don't wear evenly, but I am rough on cars and the roads I drive on are terrible. When it rains or snows I slide easily at the stop sign, but no issues on the road as long as I don't speed. Oh I forgot, something went wrong with my radio after a car hit me
Sick Car!
If you put the money into your car like the intake system, big spoiler, tires and rims, and alarm system is very cool and fun to drive. I have only had a few problems but easy to fix. I hate the headlights though, very tough to replace!
'07 Cobalt
I really enjoy my Cobalt so far but have only owned it for 1 week and haven't had a chance to take it on a long trip. I have only been getting around 20 miles per gallon in town which is a big disappointment to me because I was told this vehicle would get around 25 miles per gallon for in town driving.
One fun car to drive
This car is exciting, powerful, and fun to drive. It makes my communte to work enjoyable. Days off even more. I have a Mercedes CLK 430 and it rarely leaves the garage now. Performance upgrades frome GM are great and inexpensive and make a huge difference.
Nothing but a headache
Seemed like a great car at first for the price but all went downhill as soon as I paid for it. The driver side door handle broke the first day, soon after the inside one. A month later a hole in the flex pipe came up making the car extremely loud. Mechanic shop said the part was $1,000. Yeah. With that came a ton of other problems to come up. I wish I wouldn't looked around a little more instead of falling for the sporty body style and if you have kids in car seats its a nightmare.

Expensive Mistake
I purchased this car used with 10k miles. Loved it at first, then the it revealed its' true colors. I have replaced the wheel bearings, sway bars, control arms and bushings three times. The second time the repair was under warranty. The first and third were quite expensive. Additionally, the inside door handles have peeled. I have just paid it off and am ready to get rid of this monster. Learned my lesson. Chevy won't get my business again.
Worst Car Ever!
This is the worst car that I've ever had. My parents even agreed. It was my graduation present for high school. First thing that went wrong, while I was driving down to start my first year of college, the speaker on the drive side blew in and out, then finally out. I continuously kept trying to take it to the dealership but they REFUSED to talk to me because 1. I'm a woman and 2. I'm blonde so I can't know what I'm talking about. My dad had to take it to a Chrysler dealership before anyone else would fix it. The ignition switch locked up on me twice. Then the front right tire blew out on me while I was driving. Last, but not least, there were TWO gas leaks in the car.
Chevy's best kept secret
I was ready for a new car and wanted to spend less than $15k. The Cobalt was a no-brainer. The 2 door laser blue coupe looks fantastic and I got it with all the goodies I wanted for under $14,000. I've owned it for a few weeks and I have only a couple of complaints. The doors are long and locking/unlocking them is awkward, power door locks should have been standard. No armrest, whats up with that? The interior of the doors are all one color, light gray. Adding a darker gray to the door would have looked sportier and hidden stains better. Window crank handle fell off in my hand after only a few uses, just snapped it back on and all is well. Gas mileage seems OK, a few more mpg would be nice
Great Commuter Car
We purchased this car as a commuter for my wife, really not expecting an exceptional vehicle for $13,500 out the door. My feelings have changed after making several day long drives, really taking a liking to the car. With 266 miles on the odometer we're getting 39 miles per gallon on the interstate, really great on a car that advertised 34 MPG Hwy. Secondly it handles exceptionally well and is comfortable to drive. 95% of the time I drive a full size truck, never paying attention to the fact that your constantly scrutinizing your size in a given space... it does weigh on you in commuting. This is a nice car and we're actually discssing getting another in the Pontiac version. So far, elated!
Great Car - especially for the price
It is larger than you first think. The engine is terrific. The size of the whole car is just right. Big enough to carry 4 people, small enough to be fuel efficient, and powerful enough to not require a V6. The stereo is a great design and a joy to work although a little more power would be nice. The paint job on my Cobalt is exceptional. I bought the paint protection. I think it is well worth the price for any car. Overall a great ride for not much money. I looked at Focus, but I think the Cobalt is a better car for less money.
Update of 1/1/08 Review
I now have over 10,500 mi on the car and its still without any problems. I took the car to the shop 3 times: Once for an oil change and 2 because of something I did: Bent a rim and hit a deer. I abuse this car and it still treats me great. I'm now getting 30-37MPG depending on how I drive. The front tires are now starting to show noticeable wear. My only big gripe with the car is the noisy wheel covers. They squeak and rattle over bumps and it makes the car seem like less quality than it actually is. Next time I'm getting alloys. I still get compliments on the looks. Why are people still buying imports? Chevy packs quality, value, dependability, and fun all in one car. Check this one out!
Mixed Feelings
Not sure where to start...had my Cobalt for less than a month when I heard a horrible rattling noise. Took it to the dealership only to find that the windshield had been installed upside down and had to be replaced. Got the car out of the shop. Drove it for two weeks and started hearing a horrible noise in the front end. Two compressors later, and I still hear a 'bug zapper' like sound when I run the heat or the air. Dealership swears that they can't hear it, but everyone else who has ever been in the car has commented on it. The car drives okay, but honestly, has been in the shop way to often for a brand new vehicle. As the owner of both an 07 Cobalt and an 07 Malibu LS, I'm unhappy w/GM!
So-So Feelings
I have an 07 SS Coupe. I drive a lot. My gas mileage has been less then desirable with getting at the most 27mpg highway. I have 42k on it now and at 40,500 I had to have my transmission replaced. Thank goodness for extended warranties or it would have cost a fortune. Styling is great. I get a lot of looks from people because the car looks hot in black. Tires are expensive to replace and the SS is so low to the ground it doesn't clear most speed bumps without scraping. Unless you get a great deal on this car, I would think twice.
I wanted a safe, dependable car
I wanted a safe dependable car to send my daughter off to college. She liked the sporty look, and we shopped until we found one with the bells and whistles. The car has 37,000 miles on it, so the bumper to bumper has expired (barely-- 36,000). While she was driving from Nashville, the power steering just quit working. I'm glad she wasn't in a turn! Dealership and GM are not very sympathetic, but when I googled "Cobalt power steering," I found that this problem is widespread. I hope that anyone considering the Cobalt will use google and research this power steering failure.
Its Alright
This car is a great first car. It gets you from point A to point B. I just wouldn't suggest to put too much money into the car because it will break.

Got a Good One
The longer I have my Cobalt, the more I appreciate it. I bought a basic LS model at the end of 2007 to get me to and from work. I have a 60 mile commute daily and it just doesn't make sense to wear out a high-priced car so quickly. My car has 49K miles and only one thing has had to be repaired: a wire in the engine compartment that powers the daytime running lights flexed to much and broke. That's it. The steering column and power steering motor was replaced under the recall, but I never had any steering issues. I do the maintenance on the car myself, which is very simple and inexpensive. The car is comfortable and handles well. Best commuter car purchase I could have made.
So Disappointed
Purchased this vehicle used, had looked up car fax info and researched mileage. Guess what I'm only getting 19 mpg in the city, it's a good thing I only work 5 miles away. The car has a nice build and I can't find anything else I don't like about the car. I'm just disappointed in it's performance. I've had other used vehicles with a V8 that gave me 22 mpg in the city. I've taken it back to be serviced and I'm told there's nothing wrong it must be my driving habits. I've only put about 500 miles on this vehicle.
Good gas mileage?
Bought this car new in March of 2007 and currently have just over 20k miles. The selling points of this vehicle were the gas mileage and comfort of the interior (considering it's size). The sticker stated 24 mpg city and around 30 mpg highway. On the highway the car gets the 30 mpg but in the city I'm lucky to get 17mpg. I have a 1999 Subaru Outback with 189K miles that gets better mileage in the city. Very dissapointed. The car its self is pretty reliable. I had it to the dealer 5 times (3 for the same problem). I think the 5 trips to the dealer speaks more for the dealership than the car. Finally, if you get this car step up to the LT model. No power windows or door locks gets tiresome.
Key west trip with (Bestsy)
We brought this car used from a dealer 3 years ago never had a problem with it we wanted to take a nice trip to the keys for 2 day so we decided to go with my girlfriend Chevy cobalt, I have to say I was so impress with the performance of this little car going 80 miles per hour with no problem. I was pushing this car and laughing my girlfriend told me to take it easy on her baby so I respond by saying dont worry Babe Besty doing fine, unfortunately I have to say that my girlfriend got into a car accident couple weeks ago with a pickup truck on her way to work and total Besty, we only had PIP insurance on it. My girlfriend is doing fine, but she's so sad about the car,she wants the same car because of the reliability, we trying to save to get another one.

Power Steering motor recall
I noticed steering issues with my 2007 LS Cobalt. The dealership replaced it at no cost to me since there was a recall. It has made a huge difference in the feeling of control when I'm driving. I don't drive much so I wasn't sure if I was just imagining this lack of control or not but I feel a lot safer now.
Cute and Decent Car
I have had my chevy cobalt for almost 2 weeks now and so far no major complaints. The ride is smooth. When I go over rough bumps on the road I can hardly feel it. The braking system is very good so far and the handling isn't that bad either. The car drives fine and the engine is very quiet. Acceleration is decent and the car is rather easy to control. The inside of the car is very nice. I like the overall layout and the audio system. Some people say that the interior of the car feels cheap and plastic. In my opinion I think it is pretty sturdy and not that bad at all. Overall this was a great buy for me and hopefully I will enjoy this car for a few years.
Good car for the money.
I purchased this car for my daughter, who was on her way to college. This vehicle has served us well, and looks like it will take us to graduation day. After graduation it will probably go to another member of the family who needs a good - serviceable - and economic automobile. We keep up with the maintenance schedule, and have it detailed (inside and out) every spring. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a good quality car in that price range.
Great Gas mileage, Nice Car
I have owned this car for 2 years. It is very reliable, great on gas. I drive both a lot of city and Highway miles. I avg. 34-35 mpg on the hwy @ 55-60 mph. 32-33 mpg @ 65-75 mph. City avg 28-29 mpg. I noticed a prior owner complained of the steering shake. Mine had that too until someone mentioned that is loose bearings. I had it serviced (not too expensive); problem solved. I had to replace the shocks and struts (warranty covered) but then I do a lot of driving in bad road conditions (Lots of potholes and uneven pavement). Always liked this car - my husband just found the same model and year with 23,000 miles for $10,900 and is buying it this week.
great car for great granning!!!!!!!!!
This is the best car that I have ever owned, and that I truly loved. I have owned new or used cars, but this one is truly the best car ever. The interior is very comfortable and spacious. Very easy to clean, and care for. For a 2007, 68,000 miles, only thing I've had to replace is new tires, and a new battery period. Customer service has always, been on top of things. And has been Johnny on the spot. Always pleasant, and professional, also takes the to explain anything that I do not understand, with patience always. Next year I will buy a new one, 2019.

Love 2007 base model Cobalt Coupe
This base model 07 Cobalt had me thinking twice about 4 cyl engines. As soon as I took off in this car, the performance was great. It handles really well on the curvy roads where I live in and the fuel economy is outstanding, 30 M+PG. I was also surprised by the amount of space that is present in the trunk, lots of it. Being that I'm 6 feet tall, I have enough room to sit behind the wheel. I was also surprised to see the battery in the trunk.
Great Car
I have had my Cobalt for 2 years now and I have yet to have a problem out of it. Ive put performance parts on it as well as a body kit and rims and I drive it like I stole it every time I drive. I have the 5-speed manual transmission and I change the oil every 2500 miles. The car is great I have never had any problems from anything to do with the engine or transmission. I had a problem with the radio but it was covered under warranty and fixed the next day. I would recommend the car to anyone. If your into performance and style its great there are tons of parts and they are easy to install. The 2.2L is a great engine and runs like a champ with plenty of power to go around.
