Used 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche Consumer Reviews
Truck with the comfort of a car
This truck has all the comfort of a car with the durability of a truck. Bought with the intent to pull a boat. Plenty of cab room for a large family with plenty of room for storage and luggage. Great vehicle. Very impressed. Although gas prices have made it costly to fill, worth the comfort.
Best vehicle I ever owned
I have owned forty new vehicles in the last thirty-seven years and this one has the power, 8.1 (496) engine with 37.5 gas tank and 3.73 rear end to give me about fifteen MPG. Since 1976 when they made cars smaller and I am a large person, the Avalanche has the right fit and ride.

Carry a Piano, People, or Dirtbikes
I've carried skis in the back in Winter, Dirtbikes, and even a standup piano. I've also carried 4 x 8 foot plywood in the dry.
No Regrets
This is the first of many vehicles (SUV's, Trucks & Sports cars) that than I am as happy with as the day I bought it. It's build quality, utilitarian and comfort characteristics are ideal for someone who need's carry the family on road- trips, haul lumber/"stuff" and 4-wheel drive in the back woods on occasion. If you can get used to the odd look (I did) you won't be disappointed.
THE BEST VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED!
45 yrs. OF OWNING MOST OF THE TYPE OF CARS AND TRUCKS THAT I LIKED AND COULD AFFORD, THE AVALANCHE IS THE BEST OF THE BEST. BEFORE I BOUGHT THE AVALANCHE I HAD A FORD F-150 4-WD EXT. CAB AND I LOVED THAT TRUCK VERY MUCH, TOO, BUT THE AVALANCHE FILLED A PLACE IN MY HEART THAT NO OTHER TRUCK COULD HAVE DONE. IT'S THE BEST OF TWO WORLDS, IT'S A TRUCK WHEN I NEED IT TO BE AND IT'S AN SUV WHEN I WANT IT TO BE AND WITH ALL OF THE COMFORT OF A FINE LUXURY CAR. THE RIDE IS OUTSTANDING AND ROOMINESS IS GREAT FOR FAMILY AND HAS PLENTY OF STORAGE CAP. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO BUY ANOTHER ONE.
