Wonderfully fun to drive
but I wish it had more cargo room in the rear. I had debated between the Lexus 330 and the X5 and the power of the X5 made the decision. Fantastic pick up on the interstate, decent gas mileage for an SUV and so much fun to drive. Would love to see the cargo area improved, but hate to compromise the rear passenger comfort. Great car!
BMW X5 excellent performance
18 MPG spirited driving, 23mpg on road trips 4.4L V8 is powerful, 6.7 to 60mph, 8 quart oil pan provides good engine protection for high speed driving. Perfect speed at 130KLM or 80MPH with great safety, handling and performance

2005 BMW X5 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Incredible SUV with a 6 speed manual transmission..........The 6 speed is the only way to get this car.............You will not regret it.........Though the pick up is nothing to write home about, the car handles like a champ, easy to maintain, and will give you years of pleasure............Just change the oil every 5,000 miles and rotate the tires................Do the routine maintenance as the car requires, and you'll be a happy camper with an extremely reliable car..............But just remember, it's hard to find a six speed manual X5, especially loaded with navigation, heated seats and panoramic roof; but if you find one in great shape, don't be a cheap idiot; pay up a little for the rare feature of a six speed, and years of fun driving will be in your future. Just hit 240,000 miles and my X5 drives like a champ, and not a light on the dashboard. Replaced the entire front end recently. I found the manufacturer that BMW uses for their front end parts, and paid only $210.00 including shipping for everything. Another $300 in labor. Imagine that, a brand new front end for $500. If you're smart with these SUV's, you can pick up just about all the OEM parts for cheap. Just a note, with a 25% discount, BMW wanted close to $3,000 for the same parts. What a rip. Just hit 244,000 miles. Replacing both front axel boots (one tire and replacing the other just so both are done); and for preventive maintenance, I'm replacing the altinator, starter, fuel pump, and emergency brake. The truck is driving great. Can't wait to get it back. The inside of the truck still looks outstanding. Not a tear in the seats or a crack in the dash. I love this truck. Just hit 253,000 miles and the car is running like a champ........Did a wheel alignment recently and that's the only thing that was needed since my last update......I love this S.U.V.!!

Lost in translation
It may have been a great car. It may have been a great truck. But it's neither. Very comfortable and decent performer with nice interior. Nevertheless, a very busy exterior, awfully heavy doors (watch your fingers), lousy electronics, bad rear visibility, gargantuan gas appetite, tremendous wind noise with open roof, unreadable computer display in most daylight and huge turning radius. Main forte - desirable name tag. Living up to the promised ultimateness - in chris bangle's next life. We are walking away from it for. Thanks, munich, this was our last present to you.
I Will Never Buy Another BMW
I bought mine Certified Pre-Owned which I've come to find out means nothing. I had always dreamed of a luxury car and was thrilled to drive off the lot with it. Since then I have been so disappointed. Constant problems with the Nav, warning lights coming on, lighter fuse busting, Blutooth issues and worst of all -when I accidentally locked my keys in the car w/ my dog inside, BMW Roadside Assistance told me that it was "highly unlikely" that the locksmith could open it (this happens a lot they said) and that I would have to wait 48 hrs for a key to be made or just break the window. Well, oviously, had to break the window. It was $900 to fix. I'm over BMW. P.S. Replacement keys are $225.
