Ultimate Tanning Machine (Update)!

I’ve had it for 1.5 years now and obsession doesn’t stop (just ask my wife). Now that I am approaching my 40's (whew!) and have a wife, couple of kids, etc. I decided to buy a car of my dreams, a BMW 3-ser convertible. So, when the time was right I went ahead and purchased a beautiful E46 325Ci Convertible with sport package, premium package, cold weather package, and 5-speed. It does everything very well. It is a joy to drive and I still wake up in the morning with the thought that I am going to drive it and leave work looking forward to hugging corners on the way home.

Clutch assembly was defective from the factory and transmission had to be torn down at 3200 miles. I wonder if the defective part already caused unneccessary wear-and-tear.

I traded in my Audi A4 1.8 Turbo for my new BMW. I couldn't be happier with my decision. However, Audi has BMW beat on a few issues. Audi's instrument panel is more compact and provides much more information (date, time, outside temp.) where as the BMW can only show one item at a time and no date at all! With the new performance package, there is no full size spare, you only get a doghnut which I think is kind of cheap. At least provide a 17" full size, who cares is you're a little off balance. All that stuff, however, is trivial. The bottom line is BMW is a much better car performance wise, and that's what makes all the difference.

Only one elec outlet, so either cell phone or radar detec is gone with other plugged in. Outstanding performance and handling. (325ix is a slug.) Overpriced for the 330 ix, but deal with it.Beats the Audi A4 or 6, Jag x type, any MB. I had a 300E, a slug but a nice ride.

I purchased the 2002 325i (biscuit) last weekend for my wife’s birthday and she loves it we have several great vehicles but she always chose to drive my 1985 Ford Mustang SVO for the speed, driving performance and the sleek style of the car. Jennifer states that biscuit is the best performing car she has ever driven.

I have a new 325ci and have had nothing but problems.BMW fixes them but thats about it. They need to learn how take care of the people who buy them otherwise they will get customers like me who will never buy another one and will go to Lexus for there next car. Word of advise.. DO NOT go to BMW of the Hudson Valley in NY if you want to get treated right..

This is a great vehicle for someone who needs 4wd/awd and wants to get away from an SUV and have some fun!! i have 1 child and a large dog, and we fit very comfortably in this wagon. its pluses are wonderful performance, fun to drive and ability to drive in the snow..it is a little small for those with large families or those who want to haul huge amounts of gear..poor rear visibility..you have to back very carefully. i have even taken this vehicle on the track for a BMW driving school!! Highly recommended!

I bought my first BMW, a titanium 325i sedan with sport package, manual trans, leather, and xenon headlights, in spring 2003. During the years I had it, it was as close to perfect as a car can be. Nevertheless, a month ago, I traded it on a 2008 328i, with a sport package and manual transmission. The only reasons I traded were that the 2003 was getting old and soon wouldn't be worth much in a trade. While I had it, It was an extraordinarily good car: fun to drive, very reliable, practically trouble-free, and cheap to own because of the 48,000/5 year warranty. If the car hadn't been so good, I would have never bought another. So far, the 328i has been great--another winner!

This is by far the most exciting driving experience one can encounter. It is a solid, sturdy vehicle that grips the road with precision. Its classy, yet sporty design takes your breath away each time you take a glance. Three words instantly come to mind when you turn on the ignition, shift it into drive and accelerate: comfort, pleasure and FUN!

The only complaint my we have about our 2002 BMW 325i, is that the trunk space is not adequate for extended road trips. We travel quite a bit, and a 32 quart cooler will not fit in the trunk due to the verticle space constraints. Otherwise.. it truly is "The Ultimate Driving Machine"

Words can't describe the feel and excitement of a BMW. After trying out other newer models, the performance of a BMW can't be compared. Long rides just dont seem that long while curved roads enhance the overall exhilaration. Overall it is a great, reliable performance vehicle. Just take it for a test drive and see for yourself.

I love my BMW except for the completely uncomfortable front passenger seat and nearly unusable console. Additionally the seat belts are difficult to use and are positioned so that the belt sits across your neck and continues to tighten as you move. Except for the cup holders, I find no way to use the console compartments. The interior design will have to be significantly improved before I purchase anothe BMW 3 series coupe.

Follow up to a 2008 review. I still like driving this car and the looks are great. However, I am starting to have to put $$$ into this car for repairs. BMW ripped me off by denying to pay for a broken sunroof diagnosed at the dealership 2 days before the warranty ran out. It'll take!!$1800!! to repair it. The front end suspension has cost me $700 in the last 6 months and I need to put another $750 into a new driver side ball joint and related parts. Best advice for this car is to buy an extended warranty to at least 100,000 miles. Still love to drive it. Ran at 110+ mph in Wyoming this summer for over 25 miles. WOW!! What their missing is expensive repair bills, but it is still a fun ride!!

My first BMW, and it has greatly exceeded my expectations. Handling is great, the sport seats firm and comfortable, and winter performance terrific. The DSC and brakes work amazingly well, as I found out when a FedEx truck blew through a stop sign in front of me last summer. One small defect (which should have been fixed before delivery) and zero problems in 20000 miles.

I recently purchased a 2003 BMW 330ci Coupe, and let me tell you what, This is the most amazing car I have driven short of the M3. Previous to this I had a 1998 BMW 328i, and I thought that was a blast, but this car rekindles my passion for driving every time I take it out. I find myself going on midnight runs just to avoid traffic and the cops, to see what this thing can do. Any review here that says BMW treats you bad, or builds a bad car, doesn't know waht they are talking about. BMW as a company, and network of dealerships never ceases to amaze me with there passion to make my driving experience better! I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

This one of the most fun cars to drive. It handles like a dream and really hugs the road. No noise problem with the top up and very comfortable with the top down. Low profile tires make for rough riding on city streets with potholes. Hazzard light switch on console becomes easy target for the dog. The dog now turns on the hazzard lights whenever he is in the car alone!

This is the most fun car I have ever owned - it is true about BMW drivers - you do drive more aggressively - and it is because you can. It holds the road and excellerates very fast - I never fear that I can pull out onto a road and get my speed up quickly - When taking sharp bends it holds the road as if it was on a track - and going down hill if you down shift it does not freewheel out of control - I never have to hit the brakes on each bend - It is easy to shift and the clutch is like butter - anyone could learn to drive in it -

1st & 2nd gear (manual trans) are very high RPM gears in my 325XI. You'll find that you'll need to run the tach to 3500 RPM or so to have the car accelerate at a decent rate. On the open road the car is an absolute blast. In 3rd through 5th gear the car really flies. Acceleration in 3rd - 5th gear is fast & responsive. Cornering is crisp & precise. The car is as air tight as a vacuum chamber making road noise is very low. It was suggested by the dealership that I run the AC unit with warm air during the winter to prevent condensation from forming on the inside (this actually happened to me).
