Don't like: info system sucks, dumped my info several times. Info system is hard to update as well. The most I ever paid for a oil change/tire rotation...........are you ready $265.00, I'm not a cheap person but my butt sure hurt after that one.

My 2021 Audi Q5 with 20,000 miles malfunctioned while driving approx 70 mph. The car dash said “transmission malfunction” pull over immediately. Luckily I was able to get to the shoulder before it completely stopped driving. It took road-side assistance 12 hours to tow my car - I waited the first 3. Had to fight the dealership for a loaner. No idea what’s wrong with the car, but a quick google search shows that transmission problems aren’t uncommon in this model.

Great vehicle but bad transmission

My 2021 Q5 is my second Audi. I had a 2018 Q5 before. My 2018 was very smooth and ran trouble free for 3 year. My 2021 is another story however. From the first day I took delivery it had some transmission issues. At stop signs when the start/stop engine did its thing the transmission disengaged and if I was at uphill l, the car moved backward just like a standard transmission would. I had to break and wait a second till the transmission re-engage itself and I could keep going. My 2018 did not behave like that. The dealer said the dual clutch sometimes behaves like that and it is normal and I should be more patient at stop signs. From that day I always disengage the start/ stop fiction so I don’t experience that issue. 9 months later at 12900 km the transmission failed the code transmission fault should up on my dash. I could not put the car in forward or reverse. After shutting off the engine and trying again a few minutes later I could put the car in D but the transmission was in limp mode. I towed the car to the dealer and they diagnosed it and said some of the internal parts of the transmission failed and they need to order it from Germany. It has been two weeks now and I still don’t have my car back.

for a car of this bulk and size it handles extremely well; terrific ride city or highway; very comfortable with very precise handling. however, the infotainment system is wildly overengineered. Be prepared for a lot of homework as the entire system is controlled through the touchscreen.

So Far, A Great Vehicle

Just got our Audi, so this is a first impressions review that I will update after more experience. We were replacing a 2019 Infiniti QX50 that was totaled. My wife would have been content with getting another Infiniti, but we checked alternatives and found the Audi was far superior on all fronts but one small one (cup holders). It looks nice (although may be time for a refresh), the inside is gorgeous, the drive and handling are excellent, it is quiet, has all the bells and whistles, the displays look great and while not all intuitively obvious, they seem easy enough. There are some compromises: 1) Some of the cars on the lot had features removed (and prices reduced) due to the infamous chip shortage. The features removed from ours were pretty minor so won't be missed. 2) The cup holders seem pretty small, so won't be buying the large-size drinks with our fast food. 3) The garage door button is now a somewhat hard to see icon on the display, rather than a real button on the mirror....but it works. 4) Real buttons are mostly icons on the display, so access is not as direct as I'd like. We'll see how the gas mileage lives up to the EPA estimates. And hopefully reliability is good...we'll see. But so far, first impressions are excellent.
