Used 2005 Acura TL Consumer Reviews
STAY AWAY
I purchased this car used with 79000 miles which i did not see as a problem as the time because I owned a 00 Honda Accord that I purchased with high miles. 1 month after the purchase everything went down hill..rattling through the car - power seats stop working - calipers going bad and grinding the rotors. I have really lost respect for Honda I am just waiting to be done with Honda and get a Fusion.
Hond has lost it's way
The exterior paint job on this car is HORRIBLE. You will have to repair paint chips as soon as you exit the dealer. For 30k + you have got to be kidding me. I really LOVE most eberything else My biggest gripe at this point is the poor paint job that results in scratches from the simple everyday driving, but then I only have 4000 miles on it. So I guess it will get worse with the noises and stuff, like everyone else. I will trade this in for a nissan as soon as I pay off the note. What is the most imortant aspect of a vehicle (how it LOOKS) that's one of the biggest reasons we choose the car we choose.
Not Worth It! Too many issues...
The 2005 Acura TL is a sharp looking car but has way too many issues. Every time we don't use the car for 2-3 days it dies. Terrible reliability. I do not reccomend this car.
Gadget Guy loves the TL
Before buying I researched the TL, G35 and BMW 3 series. I chose the TL for the styling and tech features. Plus, everything came included for a very reasonable price. Sacrifice was in power and handling, but barely. I'm no racecar driver, so for me, the TL has plenty of power to get out of a sticky situation. I am still very impressed with my TL's interior design. I love how even the dash is made of quality material, not molded plastic. The brushed steel and black carbon fiber style trim really makes for an impressive look. The back seats are plush and comfortable, but a tad tight for large people. The trunk is a bit small, but a fair trade-off for the body design.
Transmission problem
Transmission shifts into 3rd and 5th gears at low driving speeds resulting in a grinding noise; the two head lights are not designed to evenly spread light on the road ( one is higher than the other ; the doors are so flimsy that the door speaker is rattling; the tires wore out in 25000 miles; navigation does not show the shortest routes
