Still Love it after 20 years
After owning my car for 20 years and 141,000 miles it's still going strong and I'm still in love with it. I'm short (5'1") and this car fits me well - able to reach the clutch without chewing on the stearing wheel. Forsome reason I've replaced way too many muflers and brakes but maybe that's because I had the work done at Midas. Other than those expenses I've barely spent a dime on repairs except for starting this year. And it could be because it was involved in 2 accidents many years ago and the issues are just beginning to show over time. I still get great gas mileage and it's still peppy. I may hold onto this for another 20 years!
Excellent car! Excellent deal! Best $1000 I ever spent!
Bought this car for $1000 off of a girl who lived down the road from me. Had 126K when I bought it, has 145K now and has been ultra reliable! Outside of normal maintenance like brakes, rotors, calipers, tires, exhaust, hatch supports, and oil changes. This thing has been fantastic! Only let me down once when the alternator went and I was stuck on the side of the highway. I had to get that replaced. But since then, has not left me stranded and it takes me everywhere so that's why I gave it a 5 for reliability. Very awesome car. Doesn't burn any oil, runs great, and hardly any rust on it! Will drive this car until the doors fall off!!
225,000 & Still Kicking
This car is awesome. I've been the only owner for 13-plus years and I still get 27 MPG!! From fit and finish to exterior design to overall quality, this car lives up to its name-- Integrity. Best car I've ever owned. ABS lines were the only things outside of normal maintenance (e.g., clutch, timing belt, reg oil changes) that had to be replaced. Worth every penny and still runs like the day I bought it. Would have loved more power and a delayed-switch rear wiper, but other than that, can't complain.
Precision Crafted Performance
If all cars could have Acura quality - then it would be a perfect world. I drove this car new - 120K miles. Never any major issues. Great gas mileage, perfomance, handling, utility with the hatchback. AC might stink with mold issues - so you need to keep it on all the time. Added a Dinan chip for more power and installed a Sony Headunit with CD changer. Timing belt needs to be changed at 60K miles to ensure nothing breaksdown. Great manual transmission - great car.
Outstanding
This is the best car we have, or ever owned. Our Other cars are '98 Volvo S70 GLT (Junk), and '00 ML 320 (Ok). At 140M miles, this car is on the original clutch, suspension and just about everything else. Only major replacement was, timimng belt & H2O pump (@80M) and timing mechanism. Inexpensive to maintain. Drives and handles great. Styling still respectable, inspite of age.
Simply the Best
This is by far the best car I have ever owned. Because of its age (and lack of multiple air bags), I keep thinking I should replace it, but I keep looking, and test driving others, and nothing else is even in the ballpark. This car is sooo much fun to drive, handles extremely well, lots of acceleration. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it, so reliable, solid quality. The hatchback is great. Interior is perfect despite the age. Everyone marvels at what a great car it is. A truly great car. I love it.
1991 acura integra gs hatchback
100 percent reliable. bad in snow, but easily fixed with studded tires. fantastic gas mileage, 28 in winter, 34 in summer. only thing missing is the cupholders.
I love this car!
I love this car! I bought one when I was 16 and ended up trading it for a CRX, but couldn't stay away. I'm 23 now and traded that same CRX for another Integra!
The Perfect Car
This is just an all-around great car. For my second car i couldn't be much happier. The only problems you will have with the Generation 2 Integra's are the camseals.
My first, but very reliable car
I inherited the Acura from family. It did spectacularly for 1.5 years, with problems every couple of months (I got the car with 140K miles). All I can say is that it was a dream. The car handled extremely well, and, as a new driver, it helped me avoid collisions and accidents (I have not had one since driving on it). It felt like it could turn on a dime, quickly, and accelerate in tight corners. It was a really great car, but at 200+K it died of alternator, transmission, and fuel line failure compounded to create an unusable car. In my experience, I had to perform maintenance every few months to keep the car going, but, to me, it was worth it because the car was such a great drive.
Love My Acura
I have had very little trouble with this car. Beside brakes, mufflers, a timing belt and tires, I have spent money on only axle replacement (under $300) and a used part for the steering mechanism ($70). The car handles very well. All cars should be made as well.
Electrical problems galore
The Integrated Control Unit (not the car computer) behind the fuse panel shorted out. I had to replace the starter, battery, batt. cables, distributor, fuel injectors, the capacitors inside the ICU, starter switch, fuel pump relay, every single relay & fuse, blower motor & resistors. I built my own resistors because the stock ones kept breaking. The mounting tang for the blower motor fuse broke off, so I had to splice into one of the starter switch wires and connect it to the fuse. I had to jumper 2 of the terminals on the fuse panel with a blade-fuse holder to restore power to the stereo. I also changed the drive shafts & all struts, and I do my own brakes. Time 2 sell.
91 teg
Good reliable car. My original clutch lasted 13 years. It was in a major accident but still drives remarkably well, well made car, highly recommend.
No problem car.
Have had my Honda Acura (Integra), manual, for more than 6 years, 125000km (total on the clock 176000km), no problem so far, just basic maintenance - breaks, cam belt, clutch, belts, antifreeze. The engine is like a new one and I have the feeling that will last for ever. This is a model more than 14 years old and it still looks good. I have full confidence in the car. Probably I will try to buy Honda again one day if I am looking for another car. The greatest car I've ever had.
Excellent car
I purchased my Integra a month ago with 110,000 miles and couldn't be happier. It still looks great for a 13 year old car, and runs even better. It's great on gas and is plenty quick for any daily commute.
91 Acura Interga
This Car is fun to drive. Small but sporty. Easy to park and quick on the streets.
Great Car
I bought my GS used about 2 years ago, and it now has 219K miles on it. It's extremely fun to drive, has plenty of cargo space, and it is probably the best car I've owned. I did have to replace the clutch last year, but the previous owner Autocrossed it, so that probably contributed to its demise. I also had to replace the harmonic balancer and will be replacing the idle air control valve, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with it. Over time, I plan on upgrading more parts on it, it already has upgraded springs, shocks, exhaust, wheels, and tires for racing.
1991 Acura Integra RS
GREAT FUN!!!
Immaculate Car
This car is the best car I've owned. It's fast, fun to drive, economical, spacious, the interior is immaculate even at it's age, the suspension is smooth and stable, the steering is tight and responsive, highend rev power is superb. To top it off.. it's very very SEXY!
220
The car is awsome. It is reliable and the mileage is great. It gets about 230 miles per fill up.
I love this car
I love this car. It is fast, fun and a joy to drive. Its reliability is 100% and over 155,000 TOUGH miles, it has never let me down. (Not a lot of miles, but every one driven to the fullest.) The only reason my rating of this car doesn't come out higher, is because at 6 foot 4, I have to say it was built to someone smaller. I'm also sorry to say that with the second kid on the way, the two-door will have to go. I will be sad to get rid of it.
Still going strong after all these years
This is the first and only car I have ever owned and it still runs great, even after 13 years and 246,300 miles... on the original engine and transmission! It keeps going and going and going. Routine maintenance is a snap, parts are easy to find and cheap, and gas mileage is still great (about 25 to 30 mpg city & 30 to 35 mpg highway). With routine maintenance, this car still runs like the day I bought it. Handling is fantastic... this car will turn on a dime and get you out of some sticky situations. I can only hope that my next car will be this good.
The Trustigious Integra
My overall experience with this vehicle is very pleasing. It was purchased for me as my first car on 10/2/04. The car has had an engine swap done, but thats expected after 250,000 miles. The one thing that impressed me the most was when I found the record of the cars maintenance in the glove box. It was one owner and he bought the car brand new in Des Moines, Iowa. There was at least 30 receipts from where he had the annual maintenance done. The exterior is in excellent shape. Maybe a rust spot here or there. The mechanical is good and the supension, brakes, wheels and exhaust is in very good condition considering the age.
Can it make 300K?
I affectionately call this my "ratcar" because I've had it for over 17 years. Has 217,000+ miles on it. Replaced all the usual parts plus cv-joints, radiator, antenna, radio, struts/springs. But, the engine is original and the clutch is still the one that come with the car. It is an awesome car.
Very good car
I bought my Integra in the Spring of 1997 and sold it in the Spring of 2002. This was the best car I ever owned. I would have kept it but I needed a 4-door vehicle. I purchased it with 60K miles on it and sold it with 150K miles on it and it still ran so quiet you didn't even know the car was turned on unless you looked at the tach! Honda makes the best 4 cylinder motors on the planet, period.
Keeps Going and Going!
When my wife approached me in 1993 about purchasing a used 91 GS, I told her why waste money on an overpriced honda.....9 years and 223K miles later she cannot keep me out of it...In the family, we still have the 91 as well as a 98 3.0 CL and a 99 GSR..smile smile smile
Nice car but getting old
Bought my car through a friend. It has had all of the hoses replaced along with the radiator. However after 15 years it has blown suspension bushings including the RTA. Neither of the cooling fans turn on. Clutch is heavy and shifting is hard due to worn shifter rods. All in all for a car this old and with 168000 not a bad car.
Why I am trading in my Acura
I have had my Acura Integra for 11 years & have no complaints. It is the most dependable car I have ever owner. I purchased it new from Legend Motors in Oct of 91 & it has 70,000 actual miles on it. These are highway miles & it has always been serviced when needed. The gas mileage is great (about 25 to 30 miles a gallon) on short trips & 30 to 35 on long trips. I am planning on trading in on a 4 wheel drive SUV which we need to pull our boat.
my first car
ive been driving this car for about two months now and i must say that i love this car. although the hp reads 130 it actually feels around 180. the acceleration of this car is simply superb and makes the integra one really fun car to drive. two months have gone by and i havent had any problems or shortfalls, although it is a bit early to say.
A Jewel of a car
This is the only car I have ever owned and will be for some time yet. 200k miles and still running as good as the day I bought it (NEVER garaged). The main lesson learned is that if you do buy a Honda/Acura, if you do the regular maintenance (i.e. oil changes every 3-5k, timing belts, etc.) these cars will run trouble free and last a very very long time. Not to mention the style, while not flashy, is rather conservative, and 11 years old it still looks good! Seen how ugly the 91 Celicas or Eclipse look in this day and age?
91 Integra RS Hatchback
Great car! It handles like a sports car and hauls like a wagon. Although a 1991 model which has been used hard, it's been perfectly reliable since new, and continues to deliver excellent performance with over 150,000 miles on it.
love it!
My Integra has over 350,000 miles on it (I got it used from some friends) and is still running strong! Feels like it has less than half the miles on it it really does. Even with the automatic, the engine is still spunky, and (at least for acceleration) I prefer driving this over either of my parents' Lexuses. Any problems I've experienced are mostly due to age.
Best Car - like the Energizer Bunny
This car is incredible!! It is my first car, is now 13 years old and has 135,000 miles. I'm trading it in for the Acura MDX (we need an SUV now), but honestly don't want to let it go. It has been so reliable, easy and fun! It also handles great in the snow and has seen me through 10 New England winters! I will honestly cry when finally departing with this incredible car. It's amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for something easy, dependable and fun to drive. What else can I say - it's the best possible first car purchase I could have made. I love it and will miss it very much!!
Car Gone to Junk
I bought this car in the summer August as soon as the winter rolled around the car was junk. It took so much to get the car to start and I had to replace so many parts after a while I had to junk it. I wish I could get the dealership on the lemon law.
'teg lives up to name
i've had this car for 8 years, cant say that ive had any major problems...all my friends that have driven it say it feels like youre going faster than you really are, that's a fun quality to have
Second to None
I drive a 91 GS Hatchback. Everytime i get into my Integra i feel like im in a brand new red sports car. The integra does not look like an 11 year-old car. The engine could be a little more powerful but there is no doubt in my mind that this car is like the Jerry Rice of NFL recivers. This car is Second to None. No domestic cars are even in this same catagory. Not even some of the 90's civic can even hope to challenge this beast.
Great car
I got it as my first car last month, i've put quite a few miles on it, and its great. The clutch seems to last forever, and its really forgiving. The original owner learned how to drive stick on the same clutch, as i did, only 100,000 miles ago...great car.
Excellent Car
Got this car new when I turned 16. I still have it in 2006(My first and only car) Mostly a commuter car now with over 190K. No problems. It's overly reliable. Only problem is that teenage kids are attracted to trying to steal it, take emblems, or break in. It is the only car I owned and has been the most pleasant experience. Average 30mpg, accelerates wonderfully at all speeds, handles extremely well, and brakes phenomenally. Only took it in to replace rear struts and timing belt. That's it. I replaced the front brakes pads twice and the rear once on my own. They last forever. Will retire it in 6 months as I am getting too old for it. It sits low and I need cushier seats. :)
Love mine!
My Integra came to me last summer after being owned by my mother, then my grandfather, from the time it was six months old... We just can't seem to bear the idea of getting rid of this car, and for that, I'm glad--I love it! Almost everything under the hood's been replaced within the last two years, so it should be good to go for a few more years. I spent a lot of time driving it on rural country roads this past summer, and it was a lot of fun to get it moving--it has some kick to it. Overall, I'd recommend this brand to anyone interested in a reliable, fun car.
My Rs
This car is great, I've had very little problems with this car, most due to neglect(navy pilot owned it before and left it out on deployment) and age. Only minor issues, replaced the engine mounts 100,000(more a personal preference than a real issue), need to replace the clutch(starting to slip, but could last for quite a while longer. But after 11 years it still pulls strong, nice for a charge up the on-ramp
Good car
very good car, worth buying
Great Integra
My '91 Integra LS 5 speed manual transmission with A/C has been a great car. Nothing really bad about it. Maintained well at dealership. Rear breaks changed at 53,000 & front breaks changed at 102,000 miles. Clutch & motor mounts being changed at 120,000. I like this model better than the new models. It seems to be more solid.
Good First Car
Trouble free car, only having to perform regular maintenance. 183,000 miles and still running strong. Love the moonroof, and aftermarket parts are cheap and plentiful; customization of this car is limitless. The car is quick for a 4 banger, and handling is top notch. Top this off with Honda reliability and you've got a great car. My only complaints are back seat room is limited, there are no cupholders (which have led to more than a few messes), and the gas mileage could be a little better (i get between 24 and 26 MPG with a mix of city and highway driving). Motor still runs like it is new and there is absolutely no slippage of the tranny. Give this car regular maintenence and it should give you 200,000+ trouble-free miles!! Overall, a good car, highly recommended.
Phatty Car
ok first car ive ever had, got it when i got my liscense, was really hard on it, redlined it every chance i got, and have had no problems. its a fun car to drive and is really reliable.
1991 Integra LS
It's a great car. Amazingly reliable- now has over 260k miles. Still returns 30 mpg+. Very pleasing interior design and colors. Comfortable seats, the hatch design is versatile. No problem getting stuck in 7 New England winters. An all-around excellent car.
the best ever
i love this car. i never want to get rid of it. i have a 2000 accord and i like driving the acura better...it is so much fun to drive and i've never had any problems with it. the only thing i've ever done ofr it is regular maintenance.
Still my favorite car!
My wife bought this car new, and after 180k, still going strong. Finally replaced clutch @ 160k. I love to drive this car around town, freeway, anywhere really. It has been ultra- reliable, just regular maintenance.
Funest car out there
This car is awesome even though the horse power says 130hp, in reality this car can pick up very quickly, it is a car that you can modify in every aspect including exterior and engine in order to be able to make it even faster. I highly recommend this car you will not regret getting it.
Excellent Buy
I bought my 1991 Integra in the summer of 1996 after owning a Dodge Daytona. As I'm a ex farm boy from Saskatchewan Canada, my integra has had the pleasure of plowing through snow drifts, ripping up muddy roads, trips through the rocky mountains and two trips up to Alaska. After all this, the car is still as solid as my sister's 2002 RSX.
integra
I love the car, mine has about 158,000 miles on it now. I had a few problems such as the radiator, alternator, exhaust, tires, and the most expensive the transmisson. Even though i've spent all this money I figure it is a honda engine and it'll last forever. I am actually thinking about selling it not sure yet though.
