Unique AMG 20-inch wheels carry 255/35ZR20 tires in front and wide 275/35ZR20 tires in the rear. 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class CL600 Coupe Gauge Cluster 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class CL600 Coupe Steering Wheel Detail 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class CL600 Coupe Center Console Just when you think AMG's engineers have run out of ideas, they whack you with what's basically a two-door CLS, packing a high-horsepower, bespoke V8, and a chassis that's loaded with every high-performance add-on in the range. This isn't the Mercedes you lease — it's the Mercedes you buy because it looks good parked next to your jet. Mercedes engine mavens coaxed 17 more horsepower and 22 more pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V12, bringing up this latest version's output to 510 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. You can't believe everything you see. The center-mounted speedometer is a computer graphic while all the other gauges are conventional mechanical units. That's an AMG-exclusive ergonomic sports steering wheel, and it's a treat to use. A unique racetimer in the instrument cluster lets the CL63 AMG's driver time his fastest lap or determine his average and top speeds. Sumptuous occasional seating for two, also upholstered with quilted leather. With 382 hp, the 5.5-liter V8 could only be considered underpowered compared to the CL's other engine offerings. It weighs well over 5000 pounds but Mercedes says it can still sprint from zero to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. The CL600's profile is less sleek than the Continental GT's, but that doesn't mean it's completely dowdy. This is a good-looking, if not stunning, car. The CL63 AMG features dynamic multicontour Passion leather seats with massage function and seat ventilation, Logic7 surround sound and Keyless Go access. Quilted-leather upholstery and a mature sense of style distinguish the CL65's interior. Exquisite details and impeccable finish quality have been key attributes of Mercedes' flagship coupes since the 1952 300 S Coupe.
